EDIT - info below is out of date; see post 4 below for GU7 changes.
I play MAX a lot, as New Conglomerate, with dual Falcon anti vehicle launchers. Here's some condensed data on the various empire specific launchers.
There are some considerable differences here:
Terran Republic have the fast firing "Pounder" launcher capable of the highest DPS, but it has slow projectile speed AND high gravity, making it difficult to lead shots on a moving tank. And, as the projectile lifespan is 5 seconds, after which time it explodes, the range is shorter than the NC version.
Also, as the damage of each individual shot is low, it is not a "one salvo kill" against infantry if you run with Dual Pounders. So no taking someone out instantly.
New Conglomerate have the Falcon, a slower firing, harder hitting launcher. DPS is lower, but projectile speed is faster and the gravity is lower than the Pounder; easier to tag that moving tank (still tricky though). Range is also longer.
Dual Falcons are deadly against infantry at medium range. Land both shots on target and it is instant death for your victim. Once you get the hang of the projectile drop, anyone foolish enough to stand still at medium range is likely to meet with a sudden and unexpected death (especially campers on the Watchtower spires).
The Vanu launcher, the Comet, has slow projectile speed but zero drop. No need to compensate for drop but the projectiles are slow and highly visible so the enemy may have time to dodge. And the overall range is the shortest.
In theory dual Comets should take down some infantry in one salvo; depends upon how they have upgraded their armour. Not tried it, I must confess.
Here's a plot showing the different projectile trajectories. The peck marks on the lines represent one second.
One more thing; Dual Falcons are not so good up close. Due to the wide spacing of the weapons (strapped to the outside of the forearms), it is quite possible to miss a close range target entirely, even when your aim is spot on. This shows why:
Any other Bros got any experience of these weapons? Especially like to hear about how Dual Pounders and Comets perform.
