I swear I'm the last to know these sorts of things.

Since when the same but more was bad? Especially when the original was solid.

The first Payday was awesome. All they needed to do was make the animations better and improve the textures and it would have been a perfect game.

The levelling system was weird too
One thing I thought was a missed oppurtunity is how nearly every scenario resulted into a shootout. They said stealth would be more viable, so I hope that's gonna be awesome

There was only one map where you could go completely stealth: Diamond Heist. Damn was it hard. In one or two other maps you could be stealthy for the first few parts of the heist, but then the cops would find out. Then there are maps like Heat Street (UGH) where it's nothing but a shootout.

that looks pretty cool. I might get it on xbox, since my PC is so weak. but it depends how many people will play on that platform and if it is nicely ported

I played the beta yesterday and everything is great except the menus are convoluted as fuck. For the beta the level cap is set to 30 so you can't progress all that far and there will be a reset when the full game comes out.
Also dat soundtrack UNF

Convoluted is one way to describe it. Why the fuck is there not just a list of missions? Oh, we want there to be some immersion in the world they create, so if you are looking for a specific level with a specific difficulty you could end up waiting and searching your screen for a while to find it.
And don't get me started on the unlock/money systems. Why can't I touch 90% of my cash? Why do I get a single point every level to place in a skill tree, then have to pay money to confirm placing it in the skill tree? Why do I randomly unlock attachments for any weapon in the game, including ones I cannot possibly have... and then have to pay money to place them on my weapon... and then have to remove them and pay again to attach them on a different weapon? And then theres the masks. No undo after you decide to make a change, ridiculous prices for everything.

Volgon sent me a link to a rip of the data for skills here. It seems that this is from an earlier build because some of the skills have had their names changed or been moved up or down the tiers. I'll write up an easier to read list later tonight. EDIT: Sorry if this comes in bits and pieces, this might take a while. EDIT 2: I underestimated how huge this would be. I'm moving I moved everything to a separate thread.

Also blowing it on bloated development and loads of outsourcing. Smaller teams with much greater ambitions make things that look great, perform far better and have more content on a fraction of the budget of AAA games. And they're more fun. Like Dragon's Crown, which cost one million bucks for Vanillaware to make and has already sold almost half a million copies.

The team may not be small, but they didn't waste money and turned a huge profit as a result.
