Straightforward question. Exactly what does Danger Close do? Does it just increase the power of explosive weapons, or does it also increase the blast radius? I ask this because I still rock DC on one of my classes in HC, but if the radius is still the same I'm thinking about dropping this perk for something else.
Thanks in advance.
edit: Oh also are Claymores/C4's based upon what perk you have on when you use them, or what perk you had on when you first layed them down? In other words if I put down a Claymore with DC on then OMA to a class without it is the Clarymore still modified by DC, or is it now weaker?

1)
explosions deal less damage the further away from the explosion, to a point where it will not kill a fully healed 100 hp player at the edge.
danger close increase damage so you will *kill* all the way out to the edge of the blast radius (but it will not increase the actual blast radius it self).
2)
Don't know.

I suspect that it's the class you have at the time, but it should be possible to test it by simply suiciding with them.
Just find a spot to set it and a spot to stand where it normally does not kill you when you set it off, but does hurt you. Then try it planting it with DC and detonating with DC as well to verify that it kills you at that range when DC is in effect. Now just repeat it for the two possibilities. (Plant with DC and switch off to detonate, and plant without DC but switch on to detonate.)

Yeah, Danger Close is relatively worthless for HC. As far as I can tell, whatever perks you have currently equipped is what's being used. So if your DC-layed Claymore explodes while you're using your OMA Hardline class, it'll be weaker.

This is false. Even with DC on it's not guaranteed that you'll always kill someone if they are in the blast radius in core. This is true however for HC mode. I took off DC thinking that with everyone having 30 health it wasn't useful. This is 100% wrong. After having DC on I never failed to kill anyone with anything explosive. After taking it off however I noticed that I'd often just injure someone. DC is still useful in HC.
