Multiplayer, Single player campaign, whatever.
Today's question. What's the largest vehicle you have driven up to the top of Mt Chiliad? I've gotten a dunebuggy to the top.

Are you talking GTA4 or GTA5?
GTA5 needs to get on PC already.
Sure, edit the title without acknowledging anywhere that it did say GTA IV originally.

I crashed a commercial jet aircraft into it, does that count? In other news, while I was driving about minding my own business I happened upon a gentleman stealing another gentleman's bicycle. The second gentleman asked for my help, and since I was already there I figured it wouldn't be too inconvenient. After I crushed the first gentleman against a brick wall with my car, the second gentleman got on his bike, thanked me profusely, and rode off. I completely forgot about this until around one in game week later, I got an email. Turns out the gentleman I helped wasn't a generic socal hipster after all, but in fact the successful young CEO of some organic pet food business. He was so impressed by my selfless gesture he gave me $100,000 in shares in his company (which I promptly sold and reinvested into better stock and real estate). The next time you're driving along somewhere, thinking about running over all those sl uts in Vespucci Beach for walking slowly or punching drug addicts to death for calling you "homie," remember that it's hard to know the full ramifications of your actions, and that situations are often more complex than they might at first appear. When you think about it, you really don't know much about most people. Who says Grand Theft Auto teaches children the wrong lessons? Edit: "sl ut" apparently wordfilters to "dude." I'm not very far into the game (keep getting distracted), but i have found the airport early on. Have also made various attempts driving and flying into it, but have yet to see any planes that had what looked to be a door to enter. How did you get this done?

I won't spoil the details, but there is a point in the story where you very briefly borrow one. Also I think you can use them in the flight school later, but I haven't done that yet.

I watched a few YTube videos. Apparently if you are fast enough getting into the military base, it is possible to
1) steal a fighter jet 2) run up to the moving tank and hijack it too.
In the videos, if one was fast and a bit lucky, knew where to go, both vehicles could be stolen. In both videos I watched though, the person couldn't make it out of the base area before being blown up. The military seems much much much more aggresive in taking you out. I'm not sure if it's possible to evade them. Like fly the jet away, and then land it in one of your garages so you can keep using it later?

Garages are apparently bugged anyway (they appear to only save vehicles when they feel like it). I'll see if I can steal a fighter and make it out of the base later tonight. I can see that being pretty lucrative if the guns on it are any good.

rockstar apparently mentioned people should avoid garages until a bugfix comes out for whatever reason There's a bug where your cars disappear from your garage. Some of the vehicles are pretty expensive on top of tweaking them at the shops so you lose a lot of money if the game decides to eat your car.

GOML youtube faggotrons. It took a fair amount of recon, trial and error, and several brave but foolish police helicopter pilots, but we got ourselves some wings with teeth. As the proud owner of the car scrapyard, I get $150 for each car that gets destroyed in San Andreas. Party time We'll see if it saves. If not it's no big deal, the way I wound up trying to get it seems pretty straightforward to replicate. I almost got away with a gunship, but I think they're just too slow. The tank had time to shoot me twice before I could get out. Also, gunships don't seem to spawn all the time (reloading the same save over and over, driving the same route, there where gunships about a third of the time).

Is that the military jet?
If so, awesome.
I experimented last night at the base. Found a cement truck and did a quick save right at the gates of the military base (for ease of repeated attempts) Drove it inside and repeatedly attempted to fly off with the jet, but couldn't get out of the airspace. Tried about 12 times. Shot getting in the jet about six times, jet blown up on moving on the ground about four times, and shot down launching into the air twice. Frustrating.
I also found stealing it was straightforward, as the jet is always in the same place. I do think it helps to survey the scene first, to find the tank. It rolls around the perimeter. Wait till it's gone. As well as guard trucks, they move in a pattern. Also never park your cement truck IN FRONT of the jet when trying to jack it. Yes, my second attempt was a pretty stupid one as the jet couldn't move.
Any particular tips for clearing the airspace?
For the record, the same above procedure worked very well for stealing Cesna's out of the city airport. I was successful in getting one of those later. Parked it in the above garage with the other small airplane I stole.
This game definitely steps up the fun once Trevor is unlocked.

I just looked on YouTube. For those that don't want to mess around with trial and error (like I did), this video below appears to give a pretty solid method of stealing the jet. At least for me, it's a completely different approach to stealing it, that I probably would have never noticed or tried. Oh well.

I also openened up buying properties. But I am not sure how to actually buy the properties. What do you click on? Right on the Dpad when you're standing next to the green and white real estate sign. It'll ask you to do it again to confirm your purchase. Not every character can buy every property (off the top of my head, I know only Franklin can buy the medical marijuana place on Vespucci Beach and the city cab service) As far as the jet goes, I was going at it with Trevor's default red truck from the southern entrance of the base, which draws a lot more attention than the guy in the above video got. From there if you drive through both fences and around the right of the big hanger, you'll have pretty much everything in the middle of the base chasing you. I actually go around the middle planes to the small hanger on the right, with the single fighter in it. The fighter doesn't actually need much runway at all to take off, you don't even have to taxi it in front of the AA battery. From the small hanger just punch it and hold down on the stick, and you should be flying before you crash into whatever is parked between the runways. For clearing the airspace, all you really need to worry about is the tank and the AA guns. Sometimes the tank would shoot me out of the air like a total hacker. I don't think there's much you can do about it, if he's going to hit you he's going to hit you. The AA guns have trouble hitting stuff that's moving fast and close to the ground, as soon as you're up retract your landing gear (you move slower with landing gear out), and as soon as you clear the fence hug the water+hold the throttle. I really want to see if I can get away with one of those Titan gunships. The guy in your video looked like he did it, and then just crashed it (I guess it was damaged? He did get hit leaving the base). I've yet to see anyone fly one and not get hit with the AA gun, it's just so slow taking off. Once way I haven't tried that I'll test later is parachuting in. Fly high above the base, jump out of a plane, try to time the chute so that I land directly on a gunship. Maybe try to destroy the AA guns on the way in with the fighter (are they even destructible?). I'll need to look into buying a private hanger at the airport though, I don't think the gunship will fit in the one by Sandy Shores.

Thanks.
I was trying to d-pad/purchase the properties right off of the menu map. I didn't realize one had to go stand next to the for-sale sign, where ever that is.
When i get back on tonight, I need to make sure Trevor's Sandy Shore's hangar is actually saving the two planes i have stole. If so, I am going to retry the above jet/gunship hijack. Going to go reset my save point, but this time reset the save with Trevor having heavy body armor. That might give a few extra seconds break. Plus the chute.
Have you stolen the Bugatti (GTA = Traffade Adder) yet? Rather than buying these later for tons of cash, they videos say they can be stolen. The videos say it's up in Rockford Hills, on the game version of Rodeo Drive, but I have yet to see it randomly appear in it's spot. This is GTA's fastest car. The second fastest is the Crotti Carbonizzare (Ferrari F430), but I have yet to see that either.

Learned some things trying to skydive my way into a gunship. Apparently they're one of the last things to spawn as you approach the area. For whatever reason (probably to preserve immersion, since spawning things directly in front of you would be jarring) if you approach too quickly they don't spawn at all. I'm able jump out of my jet and fall directly onto the gunship spawn points pretty consistently, but the one I land on never spawns (the others do, however). Activating the chute earlier to slow your descent makes them all spawn, but by the time you land the tank(s)/AA gun (seriously) will shoot you. Parachuting doesn't seem to be a good way to get a gunship. The fighters are another story. You can glide right into the small hanger and practically land on the fighter in there.
Body armor isn't nearly as good as Trevor's special ability. If you're having any trouble surviving long enough to get into a plane, hitting his special and running through everything works reasonably well. The only trouble is (for gunship purposes, anyway) Trevor can't buy the private hanger in the airport. Only Micheal can. I got a fighter easily enough, but getting Michael to survive long enough to get in a gunship is brutal.
I did steal an Adder, but the garage ate it.

Oh, and I'll double post to make a PSA for anyone interested in having lots of money endgame: don't do Franklin's missions with Lester (marked by "L" on the map) until you finish the last story mission. These missions have very predictable effects on the stock market, and throwing fifteen million into stocks you know are about to triple in value is way better than the few hundred thousand you probably have when the missions become available.

I actually figured out the stock trading stuff on my own when I got to Franklin's first sniping/assination mission. Lester's makes it very clear to trade stocks, so everyone should get that (if i got it, no one should miss it) Some additional tips and questions from me. Referring to the 'Hotel Assination' mission, which is around mission 23. 1. Make sure you buy the Betta Pharma stock BEFORE you actually kill your target. I killed the guy at night and then invested most all of Franklin's $214,000 dollars into the stock (most of that cash came from mission 12, 'The Jewel Heist') Thing is, the stock starts climbing almost immediately after the kill, not the next morning. The pre-kill price was $190 and within minutes it was $195 and climbing. I got most of Franklin's money invested, but when i switched over to Micheal, it was already $220 and climbing. Unless I am doing something wrong, it takes forever to buy shares banging on the 'A' button. WTF. It took like 8 to 10 min to get $200,000 of MIcheal's money invested (he had $545,000) and by then, the stock was at 260. Frustrating. I never even got to Trevor. Is there a faster way to buy stocks? Rather than clicking on the '+' sign with 'A' over and over hundreds of times?2. I made about $74,000 with Franklin, going from $214,000 to $278,000 on the trading. Micheal went up about $28,000, but then in the next scene, his son drugged him and I think some of that money disappeared. WTF!!! 3. I ended up having Franklin buying the scrapyard for $275,000. Not sure if that was smart. It supposed pays $175 per wrecked car? Has anyone done this? Aidsx3? What's the payout like? Thousands? More? It better be a lot, because I think i screwed up because now I don't have a large purse ready to go for the next assination/stock trading mission. I used all my cash. Even Micheal. I spent $80,000 buying a bar/nightclub up by Chiliad. Not sure how good that will be. It seems better to just buy stocks, but with that, I know you need to buy five properties to complete one of the 16 'Misc. Events' criteria to get 100% completion status. Question. I noticed some small little gold skulls on the map. But when i took a character over to them, nothing happened. What is the symbol? What's there? What does it mean? This raises a larger question with the symbols on the map. How can one tell who should do what mission? Especially the "?" symbols on the map. It's a pain in the azz constantly switching between characters for the 'Stranger & Freaks' missions (the '?') Are some specifically for certain characters? Flight school was a PAIN in the azz. Get that sh1t out of the game. Lame. FRanklin's new house is the sh1t!!!

For those who haven't bothered looking online, one goal of the game could be to get '100% Completion Status'. Where one does all 69 missions successfully and a few other things. It's in the menu bar for each character. Below are the requirements. Note, '100% Completion' in GTA 5 doesn't actually require you to complete every task in the game
1. Complete 69 of 69 missions. Pretty self explanatory.
2. Complete 42 of the 58 ‘Hobbies & Past-times’. I broke it down below into groups. This looks easy. Just doing the annoying flight school alone gives you 12.
15 - Shooting Range x 6, Tennis, Golf, Darts, Yoga, StripClub, Hunting, Triathlon x 3, 14 - Street Race x 5, OffRoad Race x 6, SeaRace x 3, 15 - Flight School x 12, Parachuting x 2, StuntPl, 14 – Bail Bonds x 4, Arms Traffic Air x 5, Arms Traffic Ground x 5
3. Complete 20 of 60 ‘Stranger & Freaks’ Missions.. These are the '?' on the maps. These are a bit tricky as it seems some of the '?' are player specific? Items like the four missions with the Paparazzo. Tow truck with Franklin, etc...
4. Complete 14 of 57 Random Events - These are encounters and short missions which spawn randomly throughout the San Andreas. Other people doing crimes which you can involve yourself in seem to be where to find these. I think you need to listen and look for moving little blue dots near you when playing. Then inject yourself into the crime, like catching the thief, getting the bike, etc..
5. Complete 16 of 16 Miscellaneous Events - This will probably make me quit. Below is a list I copied from IGN. This will be hard. Find letter scraps?
01 Purchase any 5 Properties, 02 Purchase a Vehicle from a Website, 03 Collect 50 Spaceship Parts, 04 Collect 50 Letter Scraps, 05 Walk and play fetch with Chop, 06 Complete a Booty Call, 07 Receive a Prostitute service, 08 Hold Up a Store, 09 Complete 25 x Under The Bridge, 10 Complete 8 x Knife Flights, 11 Complete 25 x Stunt Jumps, 12 Visit the Cinema, 13 Friend Activity: Visit a Bar, 14 Friend Activity: Visit the Cinema, 15 Friend Activity: Visit the Strip Club, 16 Friend Activity: Play Darts
