Where do you place the circle on the map where the enemies are and point the direction? Do the bombs reach outside the targeting reticle or circle? It seems to get me no kills but the Harrier does even though its just an airstrike with less bombs and you cannot control the direction.

I think the airstrike works like this. the target is the center of the attack. The 3 planes drop bombs in a line over that spot. the direction of the line is controlled by the arrow. Im not sure how wide it is, but I know the my own harrier has taken me out when i was pretty far from the spot i selected.
Correct me if I am wrong but the airstrike has 3 planes and the harrier has 2 planes for the strike (3rd just flies in and hovers) (I think Den said they were the same, but I'm not so sure)

Normally the airstrike hits pretty much where the reticule is displayed. The key to the direction is based on any openings/blockages to where you are aiming. So if you are going for a building with windows, get the direction facing towards the windows as if you were aiming at them. If going for kills under cover (e.g. Underpass on...Underpass , then pick a direction perpendicular to the way to obstruction goes (e.g. if North to South Obstruction, attack from East or West).

take the direction the majority of the enemies are going to be moving & place the circle so that it streams death down them. many times this may require an offset slightly behind or ahead.
on that east bumfuck map people were trying to rush across the creek on the small bridge. i laid the airstrike in between that & the spawn.
boom 6-7 kills from something i dont even like lol

Thanks, I think I got the hang of it. Much better than the Harrier strike because it requires one less kill, drops more bombs, and you can choose your direction. The hovering Harrier is useless, one stinger missile and its gone.

The center of the reticule is where the bombs begin to drop, the arrow is the direction in which the rest of the bombs are dropping. The direction you choose depends on how you want to attack the other team. If you want to capret bomb a long street make sure your arrow is parallel. Same goes for Stealth Bomber.

I remember seeing a rough picture of the area for each air strike relative to the marker but can't seem to find it, anybody know what I'm talking about?
If I remember correctly both the harrier and precision air strike have the first pass with the marker right in the center, then the next pass is a little bit farther forward. The effective middle is some where between the center of the marker and the arrow.
The stealth bomber is a little bit trickier as it is significantly wider and about twice as long. The middle of the strike is actually outside of the circle around the tip of the arrow marker. The length of it is about 4 of the circles, so try to position it so all the bombs hit somewhere for max effectiveness.
The diagram was really helpful if anybody can find it, but the key is that the middle of the stealth bomber is actually around the tip of the arrow on the marker. A lot of people waste half the bombs because of this.
It's also worth considering that the direction should always go uphill otherwise the explosions might not be dense enough to kill.

After testing it quite a few times and observing from the top of rust in split screen, this is how it appears, the red square represents where the the kill zone. Harrier appears to have the same blast radius and spread, but only two planes.

Hmm. I was always under the impression that stealth bombers just kept on dropping until they reached the edge of the map.

stealth bomber from my impression will carpet bomb fully across the map, the aimer doesn't really matter too much on it, it's the direction that matters.

So it will drop before and after the aim point across the whole map, regardless of where you put it?
Tbh I never really paid attention to what my stealths actually did xD .

Does stealth bomber start bombing before the target as well as continue bombing after it? It was my impression that it wouldn't start until the target, but continues after, which could be useful for avoiding bombing yourself.

try testing that again, but on a big map. I am pretty sure that My stealth bambers cover the entire length of the map, reardless of how big it is
