So I'm kind of new to denkirson so I do apologize if I sound like a newb, but how do you create these recoil plots? Math. He takes the recoil numbers of each gun, throws them into his program, and it basically recreates the gun shooting a wall thousands and thousands of times without all the pesky problems of human testing.

Thanks so much that link to the in-depth on recoil was great. I have one more newby question though, how come there isn't any recoil plots for world at war? granted, it's an old game and not a lot of people play it but its something that's bothered me for a while, I do realize that a lot of the guns that are semi auto with insanely high firecaps which can be an issue but there's also smgs, lmgs(the "machine guns" as they call it), snipers and shotguns that can be tested.

Hi, probaddie here, I'm the author of these plots. Nice to meet you *shakes hand*. The reason I haven't made plots for older games is that it's generally very time-consuming to publish a large set of plots. Generating them with my plotter is easy, but I've yet to figure out an efficient way to upload those plots and post them here. Thus, I try to do it only once per year, when the next iteration of the series is released. I only started doing this when Black Ops II came out, so there are only plots for that game and Ghosts. I would generate more plots if I knew there was enough interest in a specific game being plotted - and if I have the free time.

I'd have to give you the source code for the plotter for you to be able to produce plots; or produce and upload all the plots to imgur.com and then record a list of links to send to you so that you can upload, organize, and post them all. In short, this doesn't solve the problem of it taking too much time, not to mention that, as far as I can tell, there is only one person that I know of who is interested in these plots (you). That all said, I have said in the past that I am willing to do requests that are reasonable (1-20ish plots, with relevant differences). If there's something you really to see and the request is reasonable, I will post the plots for you.

He gives the view kick max and min and centerspeed. It won't be a visual representation, but it'll let you know basically how the gun will work.

EDIT: I also cant find black ops recoil patterns at all, does anyone know where they are (or if they exist for that matter)?.

If your still up for recoil plots I would love to know if there's a difference in recoil between WaW's Thompson and the Type 100. I always felt that the Thompson had less but I have no fact to back that up.

I always felt that the Thompson had less but I have no fact to back that up. It turns out that the Thompson and the Type 100, from a accuracy standpoint, are completely identical - I had them merged as one entry in my spreadsheet and double-checked to confirm why I did that. The only difference that would affect your perception of recoil is that the Thompson has an adsZoomFoV of 50, slightly less than then the value for the Type 100 (55). All else being equal, the Thompson should appear to have slightly more recoil due to the slightly higher zoom while ADS. Edit: Oh, and here's a plot:
