Theres a few things that are confusing me, as well as other people i am sure.
1. First of all, for those of us who dont know, does the X8 or X6 or whatever number indicate how many pellets exit a shotgun every shot? so 6 for the 1887 and 8 for the spas? if not, what does that value mean on the weapon chart?
2. The damage chart for the weapons represents damage for each individual pellet for each shot?
3. The damage on the 1887 is a horizontal line. does this mean that it doesnt reduce over distance, and at some point it just does zero damage?
4. Stopping power affects the damage of each pellet?
any clarification on any or all of this would be great.
You are my bro, bro.

Although Stopping power does affect the per pellet damage, it has no PRACTICAL effect on the Ranger and 1887. The ranger kills everything in close range but you'd be lucky to score one or two pellet hits at its maximum range due to the spread meaning it wouldn't matter if you had SP or not.The 1887 kills with 3 pellets @ 35 damage, stopping power makes it 49 damage still requiring 3 hits (even if one pellet grazes the head there is no multiplier for headshots on shotguns)

Is everyone sure that the 1887 just drops from 35 to zero? I'm almost positive from using them that stopping power helps with the long range kills. I get way more assists without SP, although that's not really good proof. I've also seen range charts with a drop off

Hello darkphoenix. Actually, in regards to your first question. Yes the X# indicates the number of pellets from each shotgun shot, however through real world testing on the xbox it is evident that the Model 1887's shoot 8 rather than 6 pellets. If you doubt me, try it out and simply count them.
This means that when using akimbo you only need 3 out of 16 pellets to find the target. So only 18.75% accuracy is required to kill when shooting both barrells in range, which further shows the strength of the Terminators.

It changes things from having to kind of vaguely aim in the general direction of the enemy to just having to make sure that an enemy is actually on your screen somewhere. I wouldn't put SP on a class expressly for the purpose of boosting the Ranger, but if I had a class with SP on it already, I'd definitely take advantage.
