Nice forum here. By far the most informative and useful I've found.
Anyway, Sitrep Pro seems like an awesome perk, but 120 pieces of equipment is a huge number. I play mostly TDM and Ground War, so I don't see much equipment usage. What's the best way to legitimately level the perk?

Play objective based matches. SnD is great if you can stay alive as claymores and C4's are way more common. You see Tactical insertions in CTF and Domination a lot. Use a weapon with FMJ and have Sitrep on all your classes. You could maybe get it within a week or 2 of dedicated playing.

forget trying to level it. if you play dom & HQP 6 hours a day two weeks later you still wont be done. get a buddy to join you in a cage match & boost it. have him get OMAP & throw c4 up in the air over your shoulder. should be done in 1 - 1 1/2 matches

You could, but considering the range you can throw a C4 and how large the blast radius is, it would be something like:
Pull!
*bang*
*BOOM*
*Killcam*

perhaps have it more like skeet shooting where the thrower is stationed in front of you. or up high. Safety first

It's actually really not that bad. Use RPGs and Sitrep and shoot your RPGs at them. I usually get at least 1 or 2 every round of search.

OMA rifle grenade spam works as well, although it still takes a long time unless you have a lot of people who like to set traps (I pissed one guy off enough that he had 2 c4 and 2 claymores waiting for me).

Den suggested playing domination and taking out people's tactical insertions.

I ran two evenings of normal hardcore death match. claymores are visible across half the map. grab a high penetrate assault or sniper rifle with FMJ and you are set. I got some average 0-4 per map. other pro perks are faster to level though

Well, I'm up to 36/120. It helps that I've been working towards mastery for the FAMAS and SCAR, so I have lots of FMJ rounds going on right now. Let's see if I finish it before it's time to Prestige again...

I wonder what would be more annoying to finish: Lightweight Pro VI (250mi sprint w/ LW) or SitRep Pro VI (750 devices)? So far I've gotten 57 mi with Lightweight and 34 devices with SitRep, and I've been 1st Prez Level 70 for about 4 days. I'm guessing SitRep Pro, since with Lightweight you can just put it on and run every map. You might get killed, but you'll also likely get killed while looking for devices. There are definitely more devices in objective game modes, but the frustrating part is getting to them before the owner dies and the device disappears . Or a guy hiding in a corner with 2 claymores and blinged 1887s kills you.

I leveled Lightweight Pro VI, and it was definitely annoying (over 20 hours of non-stop sprinting), BUT it was doable. SitRep Pro VI seems impossible unless you have no plans of prestiging. I used SitRep non-stop during my last prestige and shot every device I could get my hands on. By the time I was ready to prestige again, I only had 168 device down.

Yeah, I'm not even going to bother leveling SitRep until I stop going up prestige levels. Not unless I find a much faster way of leveling it that doesn't include boosting.

riotshield + danger close + scavanger + thumper. WIN for sitrep leveling. just keep moving up and emptying the rooms of equipment and people with boosted semtex and thumper. Also in a general a win class. ONLY riot shield class i can easily top SND with or go confidently know ill go positive with in an objective gametype..

Yeah, I seemed to destroy a lot more devices with explosive spam than shooting through walls with FMJ.

Can you shoot semtex? This would be really helpful, but I never tried it. Actually it may not be that helpful but, maybe?

I spent almost half a prestige trying to level up sitrep and didn't finish before I had to prestige.
The requirements for that perk are incredibly high.

Whoever suggested the Thumper is a damn genius. I just finished an epic session of Hardcore TDM, mostly running with UMP Holo+FMJ, Thumper, Semtex, and Lightweight, and I ended with 115/120 towards Sitrep pro. If I hadn't collapsed from exhaustion, I'd have gone until I finished it.

Explosives are definitely FTW for SitReping... though I prefer a tube to the thumper as I can use it with OMA, I prefer AR's to SMG's, and I just generally prefer the quicker firetime than the thumper's delay before firing.

I tried Domination and it was horrible for me and Sit Rep. The best way to level it is to play Hardcore TDM. people love to use claymores here. The trick is to play a game and see if people are using them. If not just quit out until you get in a game where people are and stay there.

I recommend not having sitrep on until you actually run into a lobby with people using claymores, C4, or Tactical insertions. I went from 0 to 100 yesterday after I found a ffa lobby with 3 people who were major claymore addicts. Actually they were really annoying to play with, they just camped in corners the whole game, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to level sitrep. I was getting about thirteen claymores a game.
Just to point out how hard they were tactical loitering, I was claymore hunting the whole game, and when the game ended (because time expired), I was consistently in second or third place, with less than 1000 points.
Also, shooting claymores through a floor is really fulfilling.

Demolition is a pretty good source of things to destroy with SitRep. Arguably any demolitioner worth their salt uses a Tac In.
