Update: by 04/05 (right before X360 version is coming out), www.vgchartz.com/weekly/41735/Global/Global XONE sales: 1,349,546 ---- (This post is for week 1. May post weekly update if there are enough interest in this topic). www.vgchartz.com/weekly/41714/USA/ . 1) Week 1 sales on XB1 (Tuesday through Sunday): 580,521 (solid numbers, but not a CoD killer. In comparison, CoD Ghosts on XB1 has 1.11m as of 03/08/2014) Interesting to see that PC sales number is minuscule at 54,093. Is that even accurate? Number this small won't make an online only game work at all. 2) Microsoft's market strategy to ride on this game to push XB1 sales worked: USA Hardware by Platform (last week) Platform Weekly (change) Total XOne 104,872 (+118%) 2,488,640PS4 47,311 (+4%) 2,729,475 BTW, I was just told that Walmart has a special deal on XB1+Titanfall bundle at $450:

Thats pretty impressive. Considering that it has ~50% of what ghosts did and it's:
1. a brand new IP without an installed player base 1a. a new game means that there is probably a decent chunk of the potential clients (XB1 owners) who have zero or minimal idea what the game is and any information about it 2. only been out for a short period compared to ghosts
I would really like to see the playtime numbers.... I would imagine that ghosts saw a big dip in the hours played numbers vs TF

VGChartz is a bit bullshit. They make estimates. They don't have actual sales numbers most of the time. Anyway you don't dethrone COD in a week. The buzz for Titanfall is there. The franchise fatigue for COD is there. It's a process.

Now you can get XB1 + Titanfall (digital) bundle for $450 at Best Buy or Walmart:
As the underdog in the console war, XB1 is now quietly reducing its price to below PS4... ($450 - $60 = $390)

Interesting to see that PC sales number is minuscule at 54,093. Is that even accurate? Number this small won't make an online only game work at all. iirc vgcharts only gathers info from retailers and in my experience ive never been able to find any public sales/player stats from origin. What she said. That number is only physical copies.

Considering how quick you can get players in just about any gamemode I call BS on those PC numbers. Half my clan has gotten Titanfall, the largest german Call of Duty forum has a more active Titanfall board than all of it's CoD forums combined, but the numbers are supposed to bet that low? That seems really unlikely.

PC number is definitely pointless. I also suspect that the XB1 number is also significantly lower than actual because they are not counting the digital download (out of the 100K XB1 hardware sales, I bet more than 50% are the Titanfall bundle).

Had to go digital on the XBO version. Can go in try-hard mode on the home-office XBO, or can go who gives a shit mode in the living room on my alt account without lugging a disc around, now that you can share Xbox Live privileges so long as your permissioned account is logged in. Actually I almost get the feeling that if I have my "home" console set right I might be able to play both at the same time. I should try that.

Totally seems to work. At least enough to play Pilot Training, but since Titanfall is always online and you need to connect to the data centers to do even that, I'm pretty sure that it's a reasonable proof of concept. Set home console to my living room. Log in and play in the home office with normal account. Alt account shares home console privileges in the living room and can play online at the same time even in the same digital game. 2 Xboxes, 1 copy of the game, 1 gold account.

Niiice, so correct me if I am wrong, but in theory I could just share my xbl and game with a friend without any problems? That sounds convenient...

Well, you'd have to be OK with your account being set to 'home' on their console. I'm not sure if that requires that your password is saved on the console. Probably not. Your home console gets all your account privileges, and when you're logged in to XBL you get all your account privileges. And one doesn't seem to preclude the other. So I suppose the biggest problem in this scenario is if you want to play your digital games offline. And by extension if you are playing your digital single player game and you lose internet connection you'll probably get dumped out of your game, which wouldn't happen on your home console. I wouldn't bother with that for a total deadbeat of a friend. Get your own games and XBL you leech!

Because then your friend would have to log in with your account to play on their Xbox, which would sign you out of your Xbox.

Yeah, they belong to completely different genres. The only reason why I put them side by side is because as platform exclusives they are significant drivers for the Month of March Console War. There is a draught of next-gen games going on at the moment, so these two games are significant. A better comparison is CoD Ghosts on XONE: www.vgchartz.com/game/72087/call-of-duty-ghosts/ , 1.67 million copies sold by 04/05.

Honestly as far as sales are concerned, for myself, I really only care about the N. America numbers. Being on the West Coast I RARELY if EVER expect to play with people from Europe or any other continent. Which is why I always take the global numbers with a grain of salt and more focus on the N. America.
that being said, from my perspective, as it relates to player populations that I interact with the xb1 vs ps4 sales numbers are very tight, with the major gaps between them coming from international sales: N A EU JAP rest Global ps4 3.2 / 2.48 / .51 /.7 = 6.89 xb1 2.92 / 1.02 / 0 / .27 = 4.21
the .18 difference in North America, minimal
I know im talking about xb1 vs ps4 numbers here, just trying to illustrate the point that regional sales numbers may be more applicable to your individual user experience.

vgchartz just published first week's X360 Titanfall sales numbers (by 04/12), both 1st place:
US: 253,823 UK: 44,920
XONE Titanfall sale is still strong enough, both 2nd place:
US: 81,375 weekly, 948,358 total UK: 17,113 weekly, 212,026 total
InFAMOUS: Second Son declined significantly week over week:
US: 4th place, 32,567 weekly, 563,684 total UK: 8th place, 6,024 weekly, 119,420 total
