The Charge Rifle? I was just looking at this symthic.com/titanfall-compare?Charge_Rifle_vs_Archer_Heavy_RocketAfter getting shot in the back by an enemy pilot while killing an enemy Titan with my Charge Rifle for the kajillionth time. I got to wondering... the Archer does more damage to an unshielded target than a Charge Rifle, right? (What about if I get critical hits with the latter?) Hmm.

We can't know until we figure out how fast reload works. I found this but I can't find where it says what it does.
This is from vscripts/_passives.nut
Line 81: case PAS_FAST_RELOAD: Line 82: player.GiveExtraWeaponMod( "pas_fast_reload" ) I will look and try to find the amount. I am curious and I have to know.
Why did I think I needed to even look in vscripts. I literally opened every vscript and searched for pas_fast_reload. (trivial task with np++ I suppose)
I should have known it was just in the basic weapon files.
its a 0.7x your reload speed.
Archer reload speed should be 3.8 so with fast reload it would be 2.66
I'm too tired for this nonsense.
Before I go pass out: Archer only gives a direction notification while cloaked. Charge rifle shows a large obvious glow.

What is the move speed of the archer rocket? I feel like it is actually relatively slow, and for some reason the Amped version seems to be even slower. There are times I swear it seems like I have been able to fire 2 times before the first rocket hit (obviously at extreme distance, never really paid that much attention to it so it may just seem like it).
That leads me to another question, what is the max lock on distance of the archer?
Also, obviously, the fact that there is a travel time at all is a disadvantage for the archer vs the charge rifle, as it gives an enemy titan time to duck behind cover. I know the charge rifle has the orange glow while charging, but I feel like that is not obvious to most players, especially if they are fighting another titan.

Due to the direction indicator, I have turned, caught an archer missile with vortex shield, and returned it to sender. I have gotten at least a few kills in this manner on the owner of the rocket. Electric smoke also breaks the lock-on and they know just which direction to go through. They can even just drop particle shield in that direction.

I have done the same thing with catching rockets and sending them back for the kill. It has to be one of the most satisfying ways to get a kill in the game.

How is the damage dropoff for Charge Rifles?

I think the damage for charge rifles is constant.

I think the damage for charge rifles is constant. Correct. Also it does not benefit from fast reload unlike the other titan weapons. Archer and the grenade launcher both benefit extremely highly from having that perk.

Before I go pass out: Archer only gives a direction notification while cloaked. Are you sure that's the case? Are you on PC, because it doesn't seem to be like that on the Xbone.

Definitely exists on Xbox One. I usually begin my charge from behind cover to mitigate that some. The Archer seems like a bit of a loser weapon compared to the Charge Rifle if you ask me. I feel more in control of whether I actually score a hit or not with the the Charge Rifle.

I feel more in control of whether I actually score a hit or not with the the Charge Rifle. I was referring to the lock on warning. I'm pretty sure I have gotten the warning even when someone who wasn't cloaked was locking on to me. As for the Archer... I guess theoretically you could use it to "tease" enemy Titans into popping smoke (or Vortex Shield, or Particle Wall), or just to harass them like a big brother on a long car ride.

My bad, I totally read that backwards. Yes, I'm pretty sure the lock-on indicator happens regardless of cloak as well.

i find the archer even without quick reload to be easier to use than the charge rifle just fire and forget. the problems start if your titan opponent is not distracted by another titan and waits for you to come back from behind cover, but really thats just a matter of picking your prey sensibly which unfortunately I don't.

The Amped Archer seems slower over-all, including rocket travel-time. I discard the Amped Archer Burn cards and just use standard Archer.
