www.titanfall.com/news/titanfall-expedition-dlcAs expected, the DLC only has new maps: named Runoff, Swamplands and Wargames. Respawn mentioned in the past tweets that if they do add new game modes, they will do it through free updates.

Time to overcharge for some shitty maps when there are already tons in the map pool. I bought 15 maps for 3.33USD each + I got the game with it. I'm not shelling out more money for 3 maps, or 25$ for 9 maps. Thats 2.77USD per map with no added value of content.
In CoD4 they realized the DLC was just a bad idea, and just made it automatic on PC. There wasn't even prestige mode on PC. Guess what, Call of Duty 4 PC still stands today. You can find servers on multiple different patches. (1.6 and 1.7 still have plenty of servers to my knowledge). Not to mention that game had some level of direct mod support by the developers that lead to Promod which litterally handed this game a huge competitive scene on a silver platter.
Also, obligatory its time to ruin matchmaking by splitting up the player base by the haves and the have-nots. Game find times will plummet, especially on places it wouldn't have sold as many copies. There is yet to be any kind of direct dedicated server support with a server browser. As far as I am concerned, when that DLC comes out this game is dead.
Without a competitive scene, without unintrusive DLC, without any of the things that make a game last, this one is dying; It is dying too soon for my tastes.
Then again why should I care, by the 25th I will be playing nothing but Dark Souls 2.

Then again why should I care, by the 25th I will be playing nothing but Dark Souls 2. I am also not sure whether I'll get the DLC. On the one hand: it is one month after release, and I am still having a lot of fun playing Titanfall. As a matter of fact, I am now having more fun, after becoming familiar with the maps and game mechanics. Just got to 5th generation and I have to say that lots of things about this game can only be fully appreciated after playing through several generations. I am sure that I'll keep playing this game for at least 2-3 months. Hopefully by then Destiny's beta will start. On the other hand: I am concerned about the popularity of the new map packs. Experiences from CoD have demonstrated time and time again that new maps are far less popular. Also, the latter the DLC is, the less popular it is. If I do plan to get DLC, I probably will just get the first one, could be the only one that has enough player interest.
