Increases damage done, but not the maximum range of the blast, but still increases the kill range. I haven't tested to see by how much, but it should be a decent amount, though not as much area as the explosives with spherical blasts. Still, having more range means pushing the kill area out further into the widening arc so you could place the claymore further back or have better insurance against lightweight SMG runners.

(in hardcore claymores kill all the way out, so no need for danger close there. and no need for blast shield either, as it does not reduce damage enough to survive any explosions anyway)

That's because the game is so damn well balanced for hardcore. ;p

IIRC DC increased a clay's kill radius by 28,5%, which increases fatal AoE by 65% (same as semtex).

Even with danger close, a claymore won't kill an enemy that sprints through it.

Danger Close is not needed! I use claymores on every class, and I can say that claymores kill 90% of the time. ...If you're having trouble getting clay-kills then you're positioning them improperly.

1 claymore and 1 C4 can handle any doorway and usually can cover a door and a window or two windows quite well since then you only need the claymore it-self as a trigger.
The disadvantage of C4 is you can't use the claymore+C4 trap near your position. You can stay perfectly safe 2 inches from a claymore as long as you're not in it's blast arc, but C4 is not directional so keep them away from your position.
But a claymore alone if placed properly can usually kill even sprinters. Deny them access to the narrow part of their arc close to the claymore it-self by pulling it back a ways. Remember the killing range extends a good bit out from the lasers. You should also be ensuring that the claymore is pulled back enough that they won't see the lasers. When planting next to a door to cover an entrance angle the claymore into the room so that they have the fattest part of the wedge to get through as they run into the room and it's even better if your force them to not be able to run directly across the arc, but have to go diagonally.
Don't keep putting them in the same places either.

my idea (yes ive done this quite a few times) is to deny a whole block of advancement for the enemy. it can buy like 30 seconds of tie in SnD. Say there are two rooms lets say the top of karachi if you can have one claymore explode which blows up c4 which blows up antoher claymore which blows up another c4 its a line of explosives which kills those who advance in pakcs and also causes a huge disruption to their advancement out of sheer surprise. also it draws people to the location making htem fodder

i was thinking more of chaining 2 claymores and c4 to just blow up an entire room when someone wlaks in I like big explosions, but this doesn't do much. Claymore + C4 = insta-win. You'd be better off putting the other Claymore and C4 on another entrance. Also it's false that "perfect" Claymore placement will kill sprinters. This just isn't true. A standard sprinter yes. Someone with Lightweight probably not. Someone with Lightweight and an SMG, definitely not. I actually feel bad for the guys who use Claymores without OMA and get in games with these guys because they're not going to get blown up. What's great about these guys is that people who do use Claymore +C4 are so rare that they just don't expect it. They think they're gonna run in a room and get to knife people so you can often get the same guy at least 2 times because he thought the first one was a fluke. Just today I killed the same guy 7 times in a row because he just had to get his revenge. ...retards.
