I spend an entirely unhealthy amount of time in the Tower...
Partly it's because I wanted to challenge myself to climb all the areas I could that you probably aren't entirely supposed to get to. But I think it's mainly because after playing a bunch of missions and doing stuff for a good long while I get to a point where I'm not quite ready to quit Destiny, but I don't really feel like doing another mission. Sometimes I'll go on patrol and just dick around, but a lot of the time I'll just dick around in the tower. heh It's an odd diversion, but I like it.
I finally made that one jump that I wasn't entirely sure was still possible. That is from the roof of the mail shack with the fan in the roof to the flag stand towards the ledge. Bitch of a jump to get the height, but it's still doable. No reward at all for that and yet I'm prolly more proud of finally making it than anything else I've done in Destiny so far. ;3 I currently know of no other places in the Tower which are reachable that I have not explored... but I think maybe there could be some not yet discovered. Something really clever and/or stupid.
For some reason I've also decided I like sprinting across the long rail on the ledge and I've started trying to work a slide into it. Of course screwing it up means 50/50 you're gonna die, but there's no penalty. (Actually I'd say you're more likely to go off the edge because of the curve.)
Anyway...

Get to high place first... then dance. Then play with soccer ball until lost or wedged somewhere, ect... ;3 I don't know why I wind up just wasting so much time when I don't have much to go around. *shrug*

Where's the switch to activate the fan on top of the postmaster's? I want to do it. I can't get up the tree in front of the gunsmith in the way I could before either.

On the balcony (up the stairs near exit from main area towards Speaker's area) up above the postmaster's there are some pads on the ground all the way on the end away from the ledge. Stand there and you get a prompt to activate fan. I tried standing on the other side of the rail, activating and jumping to the fan, but it wasn't quick enough to boost myself. Looks like you can only boost other people.
The tree can be a little tricky. Getting on the first curve seems like you have to do it from the back side now with the tree between you and the ledge. Then there's a large depression that looks almost like a branch was cut off at some point and it's easy to fall off trying to walk up that so I jump it. From there you have to jump over the branch and get on top of it, but don't bump it as you're jumping up or it pushes you away. Have to experiment with that, but once you're there that's about as high as you can go, though you can walk out on some of the branches. If you have trouble try either of these and keep experimenting.
-Stand right up against branch, jump strait up and don't push forward until near peak of jump.
-Step back a little from the branch, sprint and jump at it and a little to the right to hopefully avoid falling down middle of tree.
Sprint jumping gives you more height even if you jump immediately, you don't need a run up at all unless you also want max distance which will need forward momentum.

Beating the tricky jumps in the Tower is usually either sprint jumping, avoiding bumping things that will knock you off target, or both. (Or if going for the flag... not running right the feck off it once you do manage the height... which it-self isn't easy.)
There also seem to be more invisible ceilings than invisible walls in the Tower, to contain us unruly guardians. ;p

You know it is only since yesterday when I learned how to wave, dance etc. I usually ignore people who over do it but there was a time when I joined someone taking out the Walker on the Moon where I'd have waved back for once.

Yeah I don't usually wave or dance at people too much, though I'll dance to celibrate a victory or climbing something in the Tower. ;3 I will wave at people if they seem nice and I feel like being social, but if they're one of those many random people that just run up and dance in your face they can feck off. Prolly only do it because my Warlock and Hunter characters are female. (Titan will be male robo. I'm rebuilding my beta characters with only minor changes.)

Yeah this guy seemed okay, not over doing it and probably trying to be social. Probably using the wave feature to indicate that I am not alone in doing the mission because quite often I am alone in the public events despite not activate them. If the game allowed voice chat it would be much easier. I will accept party invites to help complete the mission (as I did during the Beta) as I changed my privacy settings to allow anyone to send me stuff since I only restricted it because of COD. Also, I am nearly always matchmaked with UK based players, unlike COD where I get matched with people all over Europe, so voice communication is actually viable!

There is an option to talk to people when you look at them. On PS4 a little R3 button appears next to their name, and I think you can start a private voice chat with them or something if they accept. I've never used it, so not really sure. ;3

Yeah I mean without instigating a function because Strike missions kind of give you no time to do this. I have seen a prompt to an Xbox player that initiates communication. Would be better than going mid way and having to listen to a voice message, which happened to me on Moon. Apparently, I could have advanced further on the map but I kept focusing on the Hive Shrieker. Team mate just didn't want me to waste ammo but I barely run out for my Stranger's Rifle and I didn't want to go too deep to be a burden on having to be revived, I am a Hunter after all.
