Thanks for carrying me again. Did better than the first time, and the next time I should be able to parkour better and not mess up the away team by getting myself teleported. I am also confident enough now to not have to "marry" the ledge for the entire final stage.
I can help on Sunday with my level 28 Hunter for people who have yet to run normal VoG (e.g.: mal), as well as Nightfall. I have 2 level 26s that would like to go for lvl28 weekly if anybody is interested. Not going to try Raid with them until I get them to 27 or become much more experienced in Raiding.

Jeez, they sure made that look easy! I like the "not everyone stand in the middle so we don't get wiped when the relic shield thing randomly decides not to work" strategy too. Anyway, it sounds like we're good to go for Monday if we can just fill the group out. 8:00 EST start maybe? The earlier the better since it'll probably be a struggle for us hard mode noobs, and I know Dumien is usually up super early Tuesday to hit stuff ASAP after the reset. If anybody else wants in on this, just say so!

It took us only 61 minutes, and we even survived a point during the Oracles phase of the Templar where we had 4 players down because we missed an Oracle (we didn't even bother to wipe and cheese the Oracles phase).

Witty, you should be fine with a level 26 on Normal, unless everyone is lower level. Last night, we did the raid with two 30's, a 29, a 28, and two 26's. That's great to know. I'll focus on become more experienced in Raid before attempting VoG with 26 (my Titan can reach 27 with some hard Mark push to buy the Legendary helmet). Too much of a drag to the team being both low level and rookie at the same time  Things also do get easier over time as I am building up my weapon arsenal. Last night's VoG + Nightfall + earning legendary package for reaching Vanguard rank 3 on 2 of my characters (thanks for the pointers there BTW) + Xur = good list of new exotic / legendary weapons added, especially the following: Plan C Unfriendly Giant with void damage! Hezen's Vengeance Suro Regime |

Even as a level 26, you're unlikely to be a drag on teammates if you can self-revive should you die. |

Even as a level 26, you're unlikely to be a drag on teammates if you can self-revive should you die. Great. I'll work on getting that unlocked for Raid readiness. For Titan I already have weapon of Light, which can help the team greatly at the last stage. The hope is that I can run Raid 3 times next week. My hunter is within reach of 29. If I get enough experience, maybe next week can be my first time on VoG hard. |

Getting there myself. I'm 25 with my 3 purples and blue helmet. So close to 26, but I don't know if the next two non shard upgrades for my boots will do it or not once I get the XP. If I get a few coins maybe I can purchase exotic armor this weekend, but I dunno. I do have Fireborn, though. ;3
Unfortunately I have no Heroic or Nightfall experience, so I should prolly do some of those before I burden a full team with my VoG noobishness. ;p

Also looked like Atheon has a hard time hitting that person, it's just a little splash damage and not direct hits. Same on the Mars side with the guy up high there, where we put Witty last night. Then it's kind of hard to tell, but it looks like the portal team just spreads out when they get back and don't bother shielding at all, with the relic holder using the relic super on the boss instead. Might be something worth trying next time as you don't have to worry about missing any jumps, plus you can use rockets without having to worry about hitting the guy in front of you, plus you don't have to worry about random glitches with the relic shield function not working. That's a lot of stuff to not have to worry about any more! |

 I agree. I also liked how this angle, up high on venus side ...the guy sitting there delivered a ton of damage on Atheon during the transporting time, while people were away. They had two permanent stationed people, up high on both sides. Both were dropping a full clip of sniper shots plus two grenades...while waiting on the other three. That's productive shooting. I imagine then just let the one remaining person outside run back and forth to the confluxes. if the other people don't jump onto the middle ledge....then what? Just go to the back and shoot? |

Yeah, sitting on the pillars is awesome for Atheon, especially just keeping the DoT from Thorn up and sticking grenades on him. Just don't punch the supplicants lol

Makes sense too considering they'd need to get back there to make sure they get teleported the 2nd time (which didn't work in the video because somebody got downed and "high Venus guy" got sent instead). There's actually some decent cover back there behind the pillars on either side also, so you can hide if Atheon aggros on you, then pop back out again once he's focused on somebody else. So yeah, this definitely looks like a good strategy to try out on normal -- don't know about hard mode though. Thoughts, Dumien? |

No, at least not until they make the teleports random. They still haven't patched anything yet so it always teleports the 3 players farthest away from Atheon/closest to the entrance to the room, no real manipulation necessary to have it teleport the 3 you want. If/when they implement random teleports, I guess Sunsinger suicide/self-revive would be a viable way to force a certain group to teleport, although I don't see much benefit in that as long as everyone knows what to do once the teleports happen. |

That is actually how the people duoed the VoG.... They had one (a sunsinger) down himself right before the teleport...I suppose that could work if there were 3 sunsingers on a team.
