On that day Blizzard laughed with the full power of 600 GigaKeks. According to the comments Blizzard modeled this pose after an actual pinup girl.

Got to level 21 during the beta weekend. Solid game, should attract a lot of players. Very well optimized which was a nice change of pace from most MP FPS shooters on PC these days. I hate the "team game" aspect. Being able to play lone wolf/carrying your team even in objective modes in CoD and (to a lesser extent) Titanfall is probably my favorite thing about those games. I'll probably still get OW but not enjoy it nearly as much as those two series simply because of this.
Other than that, I think the Overtime mechanic is BS. I had too many games turned around (by my team or the other) at 99% when the losing team kills a bunch of people then never lets the objective go. I think the Overtime mechanic could be fine, but the fact that the timer resets everytime the objective gets contested means it goes on too long. Perhaps it should have a longer timer that pauses when contested instead of getting reset.
Class stacking needs to go. I'm not sure if I've read why they don't want to put a cap on the number of heroes per team (maybe I read a dev post saying it was because of the presence of counter-picking mid game?), but it can be so frustrating. I played against 6 Bastions on...Nepal? I think, with the center shrine control point and stairs leading up to it. Pretty much couldn't even contest the point because we were mowed down so fast even playing a counter picked hero (Pharah/Widowmaker in this case).
This last thing may just be a case of "git gud" or playing smarter, but some of the abilities/combos seem to swing too close to the "one shot/can't counter" pendulum. McCree's Grenade into Fan is incredibly easy to hit and results in a dead dps like 99% of the time. Junkrat's ult is has insane range for a 600 damage AoE ability. Hanzo's ult should probably get the X-ray treatment for the other team so they actually know where it's coming from before a wallhacking dragon eats them. Mei is just Mei. These are all high impact low risk mechanics that should be closer to Reinhardt charge.

At least Widowmaker won't be as good on console because no one can aim.

There was game winning killcam of a Junkrat getting a triple with his martyrdom. I don't know why he needs martyrdom though, he's really good already.

i requested a refund, lol. all your early criticisms were on point moosey, as soon as you get somewhat slightly competent opponents gameflow feels too much directed by hero to hero interactions rather than shootbang skill for my liking. short games, too
most importantly though game seems to lack content and I doubt theyll fix that in time
ill still play open beta with you tho

Played a few rounds on Xbox. Kind of fun, I still need to learn a lot about how the characters work though. Taco Bell is having a contest so I'll try to win a copy, not sure if I have enough interest to pay full price just yet.

Played a few rounds on PS4, balance doesn't exist, teammates are dumb, did an okay job as mercy. Not gonna pick up the game

Playing some more as teams and I'm liking it a bit more than before, but:
- Some heros have a long way of tweaking ahead to be both good, interesting and fun. Gutting widowmaker and making mccree flashbangstuns something you actually have to work for are the biggest ones but shit like symettra could use with complete reworking/rescaling
- a big thing in traditional mobas is that (high impact) ults have tangible cooldowns that can and need to be worked around, but cooldowns are all over the place in Overwatch giving you no real way to play in front. Not sure how the hell you solve this one, but I think it's a pretty big issue. also widowmaker again needs an ult indicator for sure
- I really doubt Blizzard can pump out content (of the same level of polish) to keep things fresh and interesting
- lastly, I get the impression competitive overwatch is something that isnt very interesting to spectate. Seems like it'd be very hard to properly get the action on screen for casters too, which is why I honestly just hope they keep this game pub-balanced and don't balance based on top level
I mean, the last point is moot since this is the most casual thing but still, they want an eSports side to this somehow

I just noticed that the beta automatically downloaded to my xbox One and my buddy uploaded some cool vids of himself playing it.
Was thinking of trying it. Anything considered OP yet so that I can have a softer easier experience since i've never played it before?

widowmaker but if they didn't adjust balance on consoles thats hardly as much of an issue. mcree and his stun are a bit stupid too
But honestly just get into it and dont worry too much. The game is very easy to get into and youll know quickly enough whether its your thing or not
if you do play it, tell us lol. I wonder how well it holds up on consoles (both in gameplay & performance)

Restarted the Witcher 3 after learning all about 2 but Pegasus made me dl Overwatch. ):
Pulled an all nighter and had a bit of fun, but not enough to make me want to buy it. There are some glaring issues with the OPness of defense. The skill ceiling for solid defensive options seems so low and doesn't really line up with any low skill ceiling offensive characters. A team of tankbots with shieldy hammer man seems absolutely unstoppable if they have decent positioning. The counter for them from my limited knowledge would seem to be roadhog to grab the shielder and your own shieldy hammer man with genji to bounce back turret fire.
My favorite character is definitely zenyatta. I love actually getting killstreaks with a healer. I play him fairly aggressively, but I rely alot on using snipe and run tactics. The borderlands slag ball is very very cool. His animations are well done. With semi-competent teammates who pay attention to where your orbs are at, you actually feel like you are directing the tide of battle. The ult is also pretty good for playing the objective. I like that the healers have very strong supers...they seem to have taken that from Smite (or other mobas, but I'm not familiar with others). It seems like Lucio or Mercy might be objectively better than zan because of their movement increases, but idk.
Roadhog is my favorite tank to play. That shotgun is fantastic and I love characters with sustain. Bastion feels like a Blizzards attempt at a necessary evil. I tried him out a few times and went on some ridiculous kill streaks without really trying. I just knew I was facing bad players who weren't wise enough to switch characters. Soldier is actually really good. He's definitely a gateway character for people who aren't familiar with this type of game, but his sustain and the rocket damage put him over the top of mediocrity.
Haven't tried playing freezing china lady or Mccree, but they both seem really annoying and strong.
idk if I want to invest more time into this game. I don't think I'll be buying it.

Phara is a hard counter for riot shield and robot. The riot shield doesn't protect from above.

I'm curious to see how the divergent console and PC timelines for OW will be. PC OW is full of 3K+ hours TF2 players while consoles aren't. The game is simple enough to learn but I'm curious to see what Blizzard will balance for.
As in: will they balance for PC competitive tournament play(Esports) or the majority of their playerbase(consoles)?

Ended the beta with getting consistently hooked through solid geometry, which I'm still salty about. I'll definitely be seeing you all in the full game xD
