We didn't seem to need an LFG thread at first, but now the only bro I've really played with since early on is Marko so maybe we need one? I know I for one would like to start thinking about doing VoG, and I'd love to hit some Nightfall's and things with other bros instead of just trying to solo, not to mention Crucible. I know I'm not on all that much, but I would like to be social when I can. Granted there are also times when I'm doing my own thing. Which is why I'm thinking it would be good to discuss and schedule things ahead of time.
In particular I would like to hit VoG or at least a Nightfall this coming holiday weekend if there are enough bros actually playing. If not I'll just do a few runs with Marko and play GTAV instead, but it could be cool.

There are three of us DenK's in the UK who are always short of a raid team. That's usually 2 hours from 10pm to midnight GMT.
If anyone in the US is on late afternoon that'll work this coming long weekend.

I won't commit to a late afternoon... it depends on 2 factors really (my wife and my 2 kids)
But I will make an effort

Could you two maybe try Friday? We're usually on later on the weekend. Probably stretch till 2:00am if pushed. I'll check later on if that's possible dm what do you reckon? We'd need one more though. It really does need the full 6. Maybe someone can be tempted away from AW to help us out?

Let's see 10pm GMT to US Central is 4pm... I could do that, and have dinner once we finish. We have anybody experienced with it on the crew?

Up to the maze definitely. After that we've done it a few times with help but should be ok.

OK - Looks like I have a fourth who knows the way through the Maze Just checking on the original 2. **EDIT** - looks like we just lost one due to late night work issues. As it's Friday I think 5pm for you would be OK.

Kids are still awake at 5.
Earliest I can game is 7, if my wife is feeling generous and puts the kids to bed for me. 6:30 if there is a Miracle o' Jeebus.

I'm probably good for one or the other, just need to know what time to be on for it so if I have things to do I can get them done ahead of time.

OK. Let's say Saturday 10:00pm - > 2:00am GMT
If you're in GMT-6 that'll be 4:00pm->8:00pm
By the time enough people are gathered start time will probably roll forward an hour-ish.
I'm pretty sure there'll be four of us + (hopefully) the M&M Adventurers.
If anyone's looking in and wants to go at that time (or sees us online) please jump in.
IF there's enough around at the same time tonight then we can go then too (I have no problem running twice.)
The Gorgon's Maze->End will be challenge as none of us have done that too successfully without experienced raiders from here but, fingers crossed, we'll work it out OK.

Maybe we can try again. I think there's a website specifically for Destiny LFG. Should work better than Bungie forums.

I tried the bungie forums. It was a disaster. The post was three pages down before I blinked. Plus - who knows what dribbling fekkwits may join? I follow another group - I was part of it when I played Warframe: "Destroy All Monsters" - It's a PS4 only group. It has 200 members. I don't really want to "set as playstation clan" but I guess DenK isn't the most active. It may be the only option at the moment. I really wish Bungie would put some sort of in game flag/icon (in the tower) simply stating 'looking for Raid - normal/hard' or similar. It's been a month now since we could muster up 6 people.

Looks like there are several Destiny LFG sites if you google "Destiny lfg". Maybe those will serve us better. I'll also talk to some other peeps I know. I didn't talk to them ahead of time last time not knowing we'd need them and the one I'm friends with on PSN wasn't online. But if we schedule in advance maybe he'll be up to it and may even bring a friend. Let's start thinking of a time and date to try and run VoG again.

I tried destinytracker lfg tool and it worked fine. Unless you are playing with friends and or clanmates... you never know what will happen.

My limited experience with www.destinylfg.net has been pleasant enough. The site is custom built for LFG purpose, and pretty easy to use. I tried Bungie groups and destinytracker before, but they are quite behind compared with destinylfg.net. There is also destinylfg.com, but my impression is that it is not as popular as the .net one. In terms of how easy it is to find players: It works the best if you already have a group and just need 1 or 2 people to fill slots. If you are solo looking for a group, to make things easier it is preferred that you have something appealing: checkpoints, high level, gjallarhorn etc. It is also a good idea to start with something smaller first, like weekly / Nightfall, to get familiar with the whole LFG experience. One general advice: if you are solo joining a group, follow their lead, even if you are an experienced raider. There is one time that our XONE group picked up 2 players, with 1 of them claiming that he has already done raid many times (which looks to be true from how he plays). However, he kept wanting to do something different from our established strategy, despite the fact that our leader is a strong 30. and as a result we wiped unnecessarily a couple of times. We went through the raid fast enough, but needless to say that we did not add him to our friend list. Another advice: if you are inexperienced, IMHO it is the best to be honest about your capabilities up front. This way the group leaders can have reasonable expectations of what you can do, and strategize accordingly. Not able to find a group definitely sucks, but getting kicked in the middle of the session sucks a lot more.

More thoughts: In general, we probably all have fears about unpleasant experiences from meeting random people through LFG. For example: I was planning to do LFG for the entire Sunday yesterday, but I kept procrastinating until 7pm PT . I was fortunate to find a strong group, had a blast and earned a very good set of loots as a result. IMHO we just need to keep reasonably low expectations when doing it: anticipate the worst and hope for the best. If you do that, you might be pleasantly surprised by how smooth the experience could be. As iw5000 pointed out before: one thing that Destiny does the best is to offer "common goals" so a group of players can naturally form co-dependent relationship, and that's a strong foundation for producing solid co-op experience. Until the day that Bungie decided to beef up the support of LFG in game, or we have a big pool of bros playing Destiny enough to field an entire raid team around the clock, we will have to consider these LFG channels as a very important alternative.

my biggest fear is the part where I have to jump over a distance... . I consider the warlock glide as the "longest" jump and I managed after couple of trials barely to get to the other side. I guess I'm just doing something entirely wrong though I only did the raid once = no experience.

Anybody want to try to get a group for VoG again this weekend on PS4?
All else fails we can do daily/weekly/nightfall or maybe even Crucible to flesh out some bounties and stuff...
