Never mind. I should've googled. 1000yd stare. Reward from The Taken War: Earth seems popular.

High impact sniper examples please..... I am a big fan of SniperR, despite my generally pretty pure sniping skills . I recommend the following: 1) "Black Spindle" is hands down the best sniper rifle for a certain pretty time consuming raid boss (will not give the name to keep this spoiler free). The only way to get this gem is when "Lost to Light" story mission is featured in daily heroic. So make sure you don't miss the next one! 2) "1000 Yard Stare" is accessible and very solid. You can either get it from random drop, or buy it from Vanguard Quartermaster, which has Triple Tap and Mulligan, good enough. 3) If you play as Hunter, the class specific "Stillpiercer" is a solid choice; 4) Not a big fan of exotic "Here After", but if you did get it to drop, it is a decent choice; 5) Despite the Chinese-origin name which I like (since I am from China), "Tao Hua Yuan" does not feel very good. I got it from a random drop and dismantled after playing with it for a while.

On the primary weapon front, make sure to acquire "Boolean Gemini" through questing. It is great for the raid (and actually everything). Would have been the best IMHO, but "Touch of Malice" strongly disagrees . You'll need to get through the raid to acquire that beast though. Red Death is also great, if you happen to have a Year 2 one. For legendary options: "Not Like The Others" has the same archetype as Boolean Gemini (so they lied, it is like the others ) and is a solid option. PulseR Herja-D and Lyudmilla-D sold by Gunsmith are also great weapons, especially with Counter Balance perk.

Just looked up the Boolean, seems awesome...but it seems like I'll have to get to rank 3 on queen's wrath to get that.
Well, if I'm lucky with engram drops/rewards this week (c'mon 290+ crappy blue heavies and specials, my stillpiercer, 1000yd, and swords could use some more power), I could be ready to do the raid on 2...possibly all 3 characters by Friday.

Pegasus Actual on the XONE bros side is stuck on that. He is trying to rank up on Queen's rep as fast as he can, but since Petra only offers 3 weekly bounties with puny reps, he needs at least 2 more weeks to get there.

Those are only available after you finish one of her Taken War quests, right? Gonna be a fun few weeks for me. I might run the HoW quest to see if that will get some more Queen's rep as well.

Yeah, it's total crap. You may as well run through HoW, you do get rep from there. But mostly it's little chunks of 50, and the occasional 100. I don't think I got more than 500 for doing the whole questline and it looks like you can only do your abandoned Y1 quests once.

Yes, to unlock Petra weekly bounty, you need to complete "The Taken War: Petra" quest line. It is a fairly quick one though, prioritize and get it out of the way so you can start earning Petra reps.
Boolean Gemini is a great weapon and it sucks for new players to have to get through this Queen's rank up requirement first. Fortunately, there are many other solid choices out there so you can totally get by without it.

The BG is definitely worth it.
I boosted it upto 290... Very nice!
It's like the MIDA sans agility bonus and non-functional compass

I like the sound of the Tlaloc (exotic Warlock scout rifle)...has Boolean impact and RoF until your super's charged, then it improves the handling, stability, and bumps the rate of fire to the equivalent of MIDA.
Just need to get to rank 3 for the gunsmith for that quest.

I'm about 6 test weapons worth of rep away from rank 3...so another 2 weeks (barring the possibility of finding 2 of those 200 rep "DVALIN" artifacts, then maybe just one week).

In general: since many weapons are solid, you don't have to go out of your way on a particular weapon. Just let the natural progression take care of itself. What I have found out, through Destiny playing career, that I tend do the following: 1) get really excited about a weapon, and have this intense desire to get it ASAP; 2) as soon as I get it, I barely play with it because there is this next thing that I have to get ; Instead: enjoy whatever weapon you can get your hands on (e.g.: Herja-D and Lyudmilla-D sold by Gunsmith are pretty solid and I had some fun with them yesterday), while keeping an eye on things you want and making steady progress towards them without having to kill yourself, and you will be a happy guardian.

I've been toying around with a full auto Hawksaw and Herja-D lately, quite fun indeed. Still have yet to mess around with the full auto Lyudmilla I got last week, but given the perks I got on that, it looks like it should be a good one.

If you want a scout rifle for PvE, get the dead orbit one. You will not regret it!
(disclaimer, have not actually used it myself, but I have heard so so so so many good stories about it. Even read it is better than all exotic scouts for PvE)

I have been using SUROS DIS-43 purchased from Gunsmith, and it is pretty amazing. It has the same archetype as Boolean Gemini.
The one I picked up has the following choices / perks:
1) For sight, I like SPO-57 that highlights enemy targets, making crits a little bit easier; 2) Appended Mag that boots the mag size from 17 to 23 (the other choice is High Caliber Rounds); 3) Zen Moment; 4) For last column, I chose Smallbore which significantly boosts the weapons Range and Stability at the expense of slower reload and reduced mag size (23 -> 21), the other choice is Single Point Sling (switch weapon faster, move quicker when aiming) which is also worth considering.
With this setup, the weapon outperforms Boolean Gemini with Hammer Forged on Range (slightly), Stability (slightly), and mag size (23 vs. 19).

I bought and tried the DO scout yesterday, boy it is awesome. Really, if you are looking for a mid-long range primary, buy this! Just buy it!
High impact + Triple tap + firefly + extended mags. Combined with great stability. What else do you want?

So I forgot that I still have a number of heroic strikes to do for "Neverending Battle" (and some Taken Champions as well, mostly on my Hunter).
If some fellow PS4 bro's have some to do as well...let me know, as it's been a bit of a hassle trying to do these with randoms.

If I'm on, hust shoot me an invite or just drop in on my party or fireteam. Wouldn't mind engram farming in the CoO either.
Did some CF hunting... 28 out of 50 with minimal effort or going into the raid.

Anyone fancy running the raid later? The usual 3 GMTers will be on in 2-3 hours if anyone's about and bored. We haven't even started it yet so don't expect an expert run.

Not last night. We failed killing the boss. Game ended. We were orbited and we tried again. Got to the three orb room, ran straight to the door. Shut tight.

We failed again. Re tried and the door was closed. One shot per week. That doesn't sound correct. I've done multiple attempts, including one wipe before winning last night. You do have to restart the whole thing, but there does not appear to be a limit on the number of attempts.

Yeah the door doesn't close permanently. It closes if you wipe (after the ogre I think). It closes if you're too slow getting there. It always resets on return to orbit.

Ok. I'm not making this up or delusional. Has anyone tried it since the patch last week? Maybe it's been tweaked? It happened exactly as I described. We ran like crazy from the minute we had the shard. Non stop. Straight to the door. It was closed with the scan available. I dunno. Maybe they've done something in the patch? Maybe I'm losing it. But that is definitely what 3 of us saw.
