I just didn't realize it was that good. Maybe I can make rank 4 tonight after all even though it's only 25 per win. Looks like I should get, what, 45 per win with buff, shader, and emblem? I've also got two bounties to finish up from last night and more bounties to do today so that should help a lot. I won't be able to get the armband until rank for but I'll pick it up then.
Sadly I do not think there will be time to go for rank 5. I'll have exhausted the bounties by then and even with the armband it would take me all night to play enough games. I'll have fun going for rank 4, though. I only made rank 3 last time so I guess it's an improvement.

I am still pondering whether to go for rank 5 or not. I will definitely try that if we can't raid, got the Invective exotic bounty to finish. BTW, the Bad Juju bounty did not take long.
I have no IB bounties left, so I'll have to reach rank 5 on win/loss alone, and I am not sure whether I have enough time to get the 2400 XP I need. The good thing is that with the new "Slaughter Rule" in place, I don't have long losing streaks. I played a lot of hours in my binge session and my max losing streak is 2, and it only happened once.
Multiplier (with class item): 2.5 * 1.1 * 1.1 * 1.1 = 3.3275
Assume win/loss ration of 1: 1 win and 1 loss = (25 + 20) * 3.3275 = 150 rep
2400/150 * 2 = 32 games
Hmm: that would take a really long time (winning all the games don't make it much faster, still require 28 games). Too much work for an Atheon's Epilogue clone without the elemental damage.

I can't decide whether to try running Devil's lair (or is there a faster strike) on easy as quickly as possible or to just do the strike playlists so maybe I'll get some marks and stuff for the effort as well rather than almost no reward at all other than bounty progress and mind numbing repetition. I might do a little of each.

Okay I'm calling it. Sunday is THE day to play Iron Banner. I had a great time both Saturday and Sunday, but Monday night was a fucking slog. I guess the additional 50% rep is worth it, but man... it was NOT fun last night. And I only managed rank 3 which means I got nothing really useful out of it. But I did have a blast on Saturday and Sunday. (Sadly this lulled me into thinking I might actually be good at IB... clearly I am not. lol) I did have a couple of good games, but not many and sadly every time I got on a good team Destiny broke up the team. arg! I just never got my groove and it seemed like even my grenades were very ineffective as well. I'm guessing most of the filthy casuals like myself quit after Sunday. heh
The other part that sucks is I didn't get the arm band so next IB I'm still stuck with only the two rep bonus items... oh well. I think I gotta make time to do an hour a night during the week next time and try to grind out some bounties, then hit it a bit more Friday, and Saturday and Sunday just wail on it.
I also need to do some glimmer farming. I turned in all my Cryptarch items and only had enough for the boots. I better work on opening up Mars.

I don't know where they came up with those numbers for bounties and medallions, but they're wrong. All IB bounties are 100 rep -- you can check this easily in the Destiny app. Medallions are 20 rep. Buff percentages and rank numbers are correct. Hmmm, just realized I was wrong on on the medallion rep number -- it's actually 40 rep per medallion. Wins in IB are worth 50 rep. Doesn't really matter for the time being, but figured I'd correct that in case anybody wants to look back at this info for the next event. |
