Which shotgun(s) from the previous games would be the best fit? Too bad we'll never get one tho :\

My favorite choice would be USAS-12 from MW3, with 40 damage close range and 20 damage mid-long range.
Second favorite choice would be Olympia, with 75 damage close range and 30 damage mid-long range.

M1014 copy-pasted from MW2. Boom! Now the game is fun.

AA-12, but with the controllable fire rate of its real life counterpart, 300 RPM, as well as some decent damage.

This is a Colt Defender, which was a real shotgun (albeit a concept one) from the 70s. Allows effectively full auto fire rate due to the multiple barrel design.

It's actually semi-auto, isn't it? Sort of. The shotgun is a break action. Every barrel is separate. However, because there are eight barrels, they can be fired quickly and at the time would have been capable of faster fire than any existing shotgun.

In my opinion the MW3 USAS with Damage was the most 'balanced' shotgun in any CoD I've played.
Other than that maybe MW2 M10?

According to timeitself (the shotgun probabilities dude) range is better on the USAS. IIRC it was the only shotgun that would prefer the range profiency.
To the people that said the m1014,is that with sp built in?

To the people that said the m1014,is that with sp built in? Heh Range really better? If there is a link to a discussion on this or if anyone recalls the arguments made I would be interested. I just personally seemed to do better with damage (but that is anecdotal). And yeah probably SP built in on the M1014 imo.

Now with Damage and Range together with Specialist Bonus I can never remember if ranges/damages are truncated before or after calculation, so this is after calculation truncation for both. This is what I do instead of sleeping

Damage was better because of the Specialist bonus.

Damage was better because of the Specialist bonus. But linking support > Specialist EDIT also looking at Damage+Range versus Range versus Damage, having to get 8 Kills (7 with hardline) in order to get a slight boost in range compared to just range isn't worth it IMO. I mean the only thing damage does is make it ever so slightly more reliable up to 400 units (500 with Specialist Bonus)

So pretty much because of it being pretty likely you can land 4 (out of 8 IIRC) pellets before 500 units range is slightly better, fair enough.

USAS had 9 pellets and was fully automatic. So with damage at 700 units you need 15 pellets to kill and with range at 723 units you only need 8 pellets to kill. So assuming you only hit 4 out of 5 pellets you'll get more 2 HK with Range then with Damage. Overall range was better especially because followup shots were much easier compared to KSG/SPAS/1887

Oh hay TMARTN. One shot reliability>Range Also Specialist was OP(Sitrep+DS hello?) and arguably the best. Both Support and Assault could get hard countered by Blind Eye/Assassino/Stinger.

Having every single perk and proficiency is never bad or underrated.
Speaking of MW3 shotguns I think MW3 was the end shotguns ever being good post MW2 with shotguns being balanced around a range augment. Ever since then shotgun range has been balanced around a long barrel attachment which is complete mouse shite.

Specialist pretty much made you a god in FFA, especially if you had Sitrep Pro and a good headset.
