Hey guys, long time lurker but first time poster here.
I've been playing around with a four streak class lately (usually with UAV + assist points, and three lethal streaks) and I noticed that Danger Close increases streak damage (or is it radius?). Just a few quick questions:
Does it provide a 40% damage increase once again? Does it only affect explosive streaks, or does it help, say... the standard Sentry Gun, or Warbird's machine guns? And have you noticed it working particularly well, even if it's only effective with a certain streak?

I believe it's only a 20% or 10% increase in damage. I know that's what it is for explosives, might be something else for Scorestreaks.

Eh... that kinda sucks. I was hoping it might make the machine guns on the Assault Drone a bit more viable. I'm looking for a controllable streak to use after I've called in the other three as I'm using Hardline rather than Scavenger, and the Paladin isn't suitable for all maps. Plus it's been glitching for me lately it zooms out and the red squares disappear so that you can't see anyone lol Thanks for that!

The % doesnt matter as long as the base damage values allow large kill radius gains.
Imagine there was a grenade with 110-80 damage for 256 units
It would be a 1HK for 85 units without DC It would be a 1HK for 163 units with DC
Large gains for 10%

But the corollary is also true. Depending on the value, a ten percent bonus could no have effect on hits to kill.

iirc werent the mw2 streaks boosted by DC even if it was bullet-based? I didn't play MW2 much (not on an account of my own anyway) but I heard the same was true for the Chopper Gunner. Wasn't the weapon on that just a machine gun, or was it explosive? I really wish in-game descriptions were less vague... "Increased explosive and scorestreak damage." Great, is that for every scorestreak or explosive ones?

What about danger close plus rippable laser turret good idea! I actually tried this yesterday, so that I had another weapon to use after I ran out of primary ammo. It seemed to help a fair bit with the rocket turret, but I couldn't tell if the laser turret was buffed or not. Kill times may have fluctuated considering the 60*fps fire rate... or maybe the damage WAS increased but I just couldn't tell because frame rates had dropped slightly.

Chopper gunner was explosive, but i double checked and it applied to all killstreaks in mw2, including attack helis and sentry guns. Wow... 40% increase on every streak

I didn't really start playing CoD until late 2013; I warmed up on XB360 MW3 a month before my PS4 and Ghosts arrived. From what I've heard about older games, I missed out on a lot of fun where streaks would do 80% of the work for you and you could put up crazy scores or quick nukes ;( MW3 streaks weren't all that IMO, and Ghosts was another step down. That's probably why I run Specialist 95% of the time.
