Guys,
Been googling this and I can't say I have a consensus here. Would anyone on next gen (Xbox1 / PS4) with two controllers do me a favor?
Make a private match with only you and player 2, who you control.
1. Give player 2 only low-profile. Will they show up on a threat detection sweep? 2. Give player 2 only cold blooded. Will they show up on a threat detection sweep? 3. Give player 2 whichever perk that grants UAV threat-detection immunity. BIG DEAL HERE: hide Player 2 behind the wall with an Ex-Mags Pytaek (no silencer!) and have him pin the trigger. Will the player be pinged by firing an unsilenced weapon?
This far out into the game, and it'd be nice if we had a definitive, TESTED resource here rather than just taking someone's word for it. Especially with respect to #3, which would account for why there seems to be more threat-detected people than radar-detected people.
I'd point out again that I'd do this myself, but I don't want to pick up a $50+ controller just for this one thing. Help a bro out?
EDIT: Now solved. See my later post.

Just for clarification, if it weren't painfully obvious, is how the threat detection module is working. So your player one class can pretty much be anything + UAV + threat detection + speed to make things easier.

Hey, Dredd: really appreciate it, but I realized that I can indeed test this myself through creating custom preset classes in a private match!
Here are the results, as evidenced by giving the entire enemy team first low profile and no other perks, the second by giving the enemy team cold blooded and no other perks.
1. LOW PROFILE BLOCKS THREAT DETECTION. I was surprised. A UAV threat detection sweep of the entire 9-man team showed nothing through any walls.
2. COLD BLOODED DOES NOTHING TO COUNTER UAV EFFECTS With the entire enemy team running cold blooded and no low profile, they lit up like a series of christmas trees behind the various walls of the level.
3. FIRING UNSILENCED WEAPONS DOESN'T DO ANYTHING TO YOUR THREAT DETECTION STATUS. This was surprising to me. I had a bot with Low Profile trying to peg me multiple times with the MORS during the middle of a sweep. Nothing. Despite missing 3 consecutive shots in a row as the UAV was sweeping, at no point did he turn neon pink.
Thoughts!
If you want to get by running only one stealth perk, Low Profile is definitely the way to go. I had thought, as many others intuitively assumed, that the threat detection module was defeated by Cold Blooded, since the effect is the same as threat grenades. No dice. I see this is actually a broken mechanic, and more proof of Low Profile's dominance in this game.
The reason the threat detection module seems so great? Your average pub player is straight-up terrible. I don't think they have any idea how much tactical advantage wallhacks + radar positioning give you.
So, without cold blooded needed to negate the effects of being spotted through a wall, I think I'm going to end up switching that perk 2 slot out to just about anything else.

Woah, this also goes against what I thought I knew. Cold Blooded is now that much more useless, and Low Profile is that much more powerful.

Frankly, I'm astonished that it's taken this community this many months to establish the facts. Well done gentleman and dredd...thanks for the clarity at long last.

Seems pretty obvious to me. COLD BLOODED "Immune to thermal, target enhancer, threat grenades and enemy call outs. No name displayed or reticle color change when enemies aim at you." LOW PROFILE "Invisible to UAVs, Tracking Rounds and Exo Ping." BLIND EYE "Undetectable by tracking drones, explosive drones and all Scorestreaks except the UAV."
Maybe Low Profile is ambiguous, but Blind Eye and Cold Blooded are spelt out in a clear and concise manner.

I happen to be a big fan of Cold Blooded for the main reason of the 'no name displayed' attribute. This is so helpful when playing DOM and laying on a flag, usually with cloak and/or in a pile of bodies. When an enemy scopes over the area, my name is not registered and he has trouble finding me. That second or two of indecision ahs capped a flag or got me a kill/defend many times. Also, when snipers or similar foes are about scanning through the brush or over an area, my name not popping up helps me move through the area without easy detection. Many other instances of CB providing stealth exist, but I'm nearing tldr range.
