Okay so I haven't played my Titan. I also discovered that much to my dismay I somewhere along the line dismantled most of my original items. I had wanted to at least keep that AR with the cracked sights... and it's gone. Since my Titan is still pretty low I figure... feck it. I'll delete him. Make new characters and store the items I had wanted to save.
Since I'm doing that anyway I might as well at least consider the possibility of building a second Warlock. For me this is mainly so that I can double up on weeklies for coins on weeks when Xur has anything good... as I'm always coin poor. I'm keeping my Hunter as they are already up around 24 without even having upgraded their armor. All I need to do is play the Hunter and I'll get some stuff. Hell since I finally got Rank 5 on my warlock I may just drop an IB shader and emblem onto my Hunter and send them in next IB. Especially considering I could always use the IB glitch to buy stuff on my Warlock at the start if I really want to. >,> So, technically... My warlock doesn't need the IB next time if I do that. (Unless they patch it or I screw it up.)
If I get a few items for my Hunter and drop my best weapons they can probably hang in there long enough to buy new armor.
But the Titan is going byebye for now. (I will bring him back. He's already got legendary gloves and exotic chest in the vault.)
So here's the thing. What is the fastest way to level up a babby warlock? Granted, I need to run through story missions to at least open up more areas for them as well, but mainly I just want to get them up to level 20 ASAP for weeklies. (And maybe someday also for more raids, but as is I'm lucky if I can run weeklies and an occasional NF.) I don't care if this warlock doesn't unlock all the places yet. It will be super easy to just cheese story missions once I hit 20 if that's what I want. I just want the best 1 to 20 roadmap I can handle.
Is powerleveling with friends an option?

Hearsay from people who have done this multiple times: 1) As soon as you unlock Crucible, play PvP to get Crucible bounties done. You will be amazed by how much you can destroy 30+ opponents there, and even if you can't, you won't feel bad because you are on your "tidy whiteys" using "plastic" white guns . For added bonus: you are one of the players who actually enjoy playing PvP!, so you won't be cursing as much while doing it 2) Try to do the story and strike missions on the hardest settings possible, so you can get all the credits on the first run through; 3) Have a high level friend does help to make 2) significantly faster, but not mandatory. Let's face it: the story missions are not hard even going in under leveled. Strike missions can be more of a challenge, but you can wait until you are at or above the recommended level; That's about it. The road to level 20 is much faster than you imagined.

Ahh yeah. I recall IW5K mentioning doing Crucible as filler so that you can hit the story missions on one level over the hard difficulties.

There is also a new tape-down-your-controller-and-walk-away powerleveling strat if you don't want to dedicate much attention to leveling. Just don't tell anyone I told you. P.S. you might nee to physically be there to press the reload button tho... Edit: Nvm I did some thinking on this. You could alternatively have a buddy with a Bad juju (w/ string of curses unlocked) stand there and hold down the trigger (perhaps with tape) skewering the two thralls spawns with infinite hipfire. Then simply tape down your stick to run into a nearby wall. Both you and your buddy can then go to sleep and come back some other time to find a fully powerlevel character...if the server hasn't D/Ced you yet for w/e reason. bahaha I love coming up with this kind of stuff.

Dumien, why would you even need a buddy? You could also just tape down your own trigger right? Haven't tried the spot yet (probably never will), but I don't know if you can kill them fast enough with hipfire bad juju... You need to kill them before despawn I suppose... Is this spot getting populated by random ppl like the loot cave was back then? or isn't this a destiny hype yet

Hmm.
You could tape down your own trigger, but I think there would be a point where you would reach 0 ammo and would need to wait for free ammo. This makes it impossible to use any sort of ultra efficient tape-down strats.
You would need a buddy since you can't use bad juju (which would eliminate the above ammo issue) until level 20. Bad juju can one burst (no headshot needeD) a level 3 thrall.
You don't need to worry about this becoming populated by random people since this is an exploitable instance created on an individual basis within a story mission. Most other lootcaves in the past have been in patrol and thus are reachable by other players.

As far as I know you need to do more than run in place to keep yourself from being timed out. Back in Beta there was a special event where they wanted as many people as possible online and they were giving out some reward. They were also making the moon available for the first time. Anyway I had to work and didn't think I'd make it in, but didn't want to miss the reward, so I went to the tower down into the bar in the hanger. I put one of my remote controls between the thumbsticks of my controller. Since it pushed them both out in opposite directions it left me strafing in circles, no tape needed. Game still timed me out, though. (I did get off in time to start the first moon mission before time ran out, though so I got to wake the Hive for the first time. heh)
I have seen something where some guy built a rig to move the sticks and press some buttons and stuff to keep him in Destiny. I think he set it up to powerlevel himself and reported on how long it took. I don't remember where he set himself up.

Honestly... I got junior to 15.5 in 6.5 hours... bounties, patrol kills, and running story lines above level for the extra xp. And that was also not being dedicated to doing it. I would stop in the middle to switch characters. bradman helped me out when I would Leroy Jenkins stuff so I didn't die... but getting your 2nd warlock to level 20 in a quick time won't be an issue. At all. The issue that you(we) will have is once we get the alt to 20, that it won't be raid ready skills wise. Yes, Junior is at level 15 and when he hits 20, he'll have armour that will kick him up to 30 a few button clicks... but in terms of class skills, he's halfway done Void walker and hasn't even farted on sunsinger. But seriously, we'll do a nightfall and a weekly for coins, then give the seniors a break, and run the juniors for a few hours of the juniors and things will be done. But trust me... it'll be weird the first time you do your 2nd warlock bud... you'll enter the cosmodrome hill ready to kick out the patrols, jump like you've done 99.9 million times... and then fall back to earth and take 80% damage. Or you'll crit things for 50 damage

I recently re-created my hunter, have him up to level 10 in 2 hours and 16 minutes. Those bounties definitely help a huge amount. Having someone carry you through the stories will make them go a lot quicker, and the stories give you good XP bonuses for completion. Doing some patrols or crucible to get your level above the level of the stories as you do them helps as well.

I did new character to level 32 in like 7 days, .... And that included a day or two wasted on IB, getting to level 5 ( I really only needed level 3)
So around 5 to 6 days in all. It can be done
The hard part isn't really 1 to 20.... That's just raw grind, with just one technique, staying plus +1 over the hard modes on the stories. That is key. If you don't, it adds a lot of time to things. Use Crucible and bounties to keep the +1 going

You'll need to give him the actual number of playing hours as guidance.

Ii wasn't working my day 1, my office was shut down so yes.... I had a nice chunk of time to start things off on. Went from zero to 20 in two sessions. Around 10 hours or so, around there plus matbe a bit more on that first day ( on Monday)
TUesday,Wed, Thurs, ,,,evenings for 2 hrs or so
Weekend? I think I did two sessions on Saturday, got to 31 then.
Got my lv 32 in less than 30 min when a quick raid finished dropped my last piece.i think that was sunday.
Whatever time I spent up there (20+ hours) was to long....but at least I got it over with fast.

Remember, he's leveling another character class that it maxed out.
It's a race to level 20... all he has to do is put on maxed out eq to take him to level 31.5 in 4 wardrobe changes.
