So you know we're going to Venus, to do the Winters Run, to take down that silly little Archon Priest who decided to be sprung from the Prison of Elders
The Nightfall has the following mission modifiers: Epic - Heavily shielded and highly aggressive enemies appear in great numbers. Nightfall - If all players die, your Fireteam is returned to Orbit. Arc Burn - Arc damage from any source is greatly increased Solar Burn - Solar damage from any source is greatly increased Void Burn - Void damage from any source is greatly increased
The Weekly has the following mission modifiers: Heroic - Enemies appear in greater numbers and are more aggressive. Void Burn - Void damage from any source is greatly increased (HUZZAH!!! A BURN ON THE WEEKLY)
As always, use this place here to brag, bitch, flaunt, pout about anything Strike related.

Be advised, Bungie stealth patched Prime Rock's sniping spot. That's right. How dare we use a sniper rifle for long range engagements!

Okay... I'm better now
So... what did they fix? There's the back part on the ledge... then there's standing right on the rock that's jutting out? OR both
EDIT: wait... are we talking the boss fight, or the 2 waves of vex outside the ketch?

EDIT: wait... are we talking the boss fight, or the 2 waves of vex outside the ketch? The Fallen vs Vex fight cliff spot. You will be required to remain in closer range when you kill the enemies or the next wave does not start, or just go up the cliff anyway and leave one Goblin alive and make your way down. Haven't done the Nightfall yet but here are people talking about it already. A patch to prevent a sniper from sniping and the scopes usually have a pretty high magnification compared to other shooters too. Not sure which genius at Bungie thought of that.

I'm not totally gutted by this change... the only challenge this section has ever given me is to be patient as Icebreaker regens

And this change doesn't seem too bad. Just gotta leave one goblin. Plus, even if they spawn quick, there still is enough cover to save your bacon. Just designate someone the runner and 2 others the snipers. Or take turns. Or whatever.. #ImNotGonnaTellUHow2LiveYourLife

3 weeklies, all broken down blues, some converted to motes, one went purple to a Vanquisher III (worse perks than the original, sharded) , 27 coins, 1 vanguard package giving me a Badger Cc srifle (worse than current, sharded) and a cryptarch package with a vanguard helmet (worse and sharded).
Crota helmet is on the last 3, word of crota is 1/2 done.
Tonight'll be somebetter fishing hopefully

As I wrote in the wrong week thread, it was a poor nightfall drop week

Badger CCC Legendary Scout rifle... is the same piece of sh1t prize i got last week for my solo NF run. I got one with a good perk set, so I'm pleased with it I actually did three solo NF's this week. All slightly around 30 min or so. The above cheese is not worth the hassle. It's still much easier to just sit on the opposite side ledge.

Question (for you and all): how viable is the new 3 waves of Vex repeating for glimmer farming? Pop an Poly, snipe away with an Icebreaker, git rich?

I didn't notice the repeating waves of Vex. Perhaps I wasn't sniping high enough? They didn't repeat for me on any of the runs. But I tend to snipe/shoot stuff from the rock ledge, right above where the three Vex snipers spawn in during the 2nd stage. Like the rock, right above their entrance-way. I'm not very high up sniping. I like to be somewhat close, as close as I can be. From that rock, no one can even get close to hitting you anyways. It's safe. And fast. Use a bubble for the Titan, or max out invisibility for Hunters. Both work well.
Either way, I don't think it's a good spot. It still takes a few minutes to get there. And it's still a bit slow. One could be better served just doing the Exclusion zone. There's no way this is faster. Using that chart on the other thread, by guess is that it's only about 1/2 of the EZ. Around the same pace as the Three musketeers. Just my guess.
I actually got a somewhat ok prize for my Titan too. Something I needed. The GlassHouse exotic helmet.

It might not be the most efficient, for sure... but if you start it off, go up all the way, snipe with the icebreaker, the 1st wave of vex just repeats itself... could be good $$$$ I actually got a somewhat ok prize for my Titan too. roll sucked. But not a big deal. It works out to like adding an extra 3 seconds wait on stuff. Rolls don't mean much in PvE, other than solo Crota and Atheon stuff.

I heard that if you equip the shader Provincial Royal, it reduces the cooldowns.
I just made that up, but it's the perfect shader for the GHouse

Yeah that is the shader I always used before I had the helm of the saint. Not really nightfall related, but I am stoked about it: The RNGezus is looking over me this month. I got two!! fatebringers in a single VoG run! Couldn't be happier, just before the next DLC drops. To be fair, it was the worst VoG run I ever did, really horrible LFG randoms. It took us 1.5 hours to get from confluxes to the maze (lvl 32 only...). So maybe the game just felt sad for me... Now I really only need the Black Hammer. Also saw quite some exotic weapons drop (including another Gjallar virgin). I don't think bungie changed anything with drop rates, must be some absurd lucky weirdness over here, but it sure seems higher than before to me. Maybe the random number generator likes the month april in Holland? (RNG often use things like date and possition to generate "random" numbers)
