Somewhere, Steve Harvey is still partying at his emancipation.

I was hoping for a big brawl/catfight to end the show.
Gowns torn, blood covered tuxes, heels being thrown, $15k purses/clutches being used as bludgeons, someone losing teeth from an award hitting them straight in the kisser, hair/extensions being ripped out.... the works.
And natchurally: nipple slips that make Janet Jackson's little Super Bowl performance look tame.

except that instead of Janet Jackson, it's Medea's nipple. I'm not embarrassed to say that whoever is the chick that plays her is at the top of my hall pass list

You can't be picky about this sort of thing; you just gotta accept whatever nipple slip you get, embrace it, cherish it, and stow it away forever in your heart

I'm not sure if Jackson could pull off a spiritual person very well, but Fishburne was easily the best thing out of John Wick 2 that wasn't John Wick.
I loved John Wick 2 in the sense that almost every setup for the gunfights was interesting- something the action genre has been lacking more often than it should. If anything the first engagement in the car shop was the weakest. It stuck out like a sore thumb when Wick ran out of bullets, so people with melee weapons charged at him. That annoyed me more than it should, on top of some derpy engagements where Wick was heavily reliant on bad reflexes and poor moves (i.e. enemies running out into the open) from the enemy. Still forgivable- easily the best action movie I've seen in a while. Then again I just came off of watching Aeon Flux. Half of it, anyways.

I need to see that. I finally bought the first one cuz I never get sick of watching it. Will watch with the gf soon for the first time, love the world-building so much. It's one of the best examples of how you can put lore into a movie without having to explain it
And it's just an action movie for crying out loud

There's a secret society of assassins, John Wick is a notorious name among them, and he ultimately wants to leave it to live a peaceful life. No need to go any further.

"The Wonder Woman movie left me in a very unsure state. I'm not comfortable with the message this movie sending to my kids?" "What? That women can be great super heroes too?" "No, that they can expect quality DC movies in the future."

I want to talk about a hidden gem of a WW2 movie that focuses on Korea's role in WW2. It was (obviously) made in Korea, and My Way (2011) is a title that can be confused for many other movie titles out there. According to Rotten Tomatoes it got completely panned by critics, but users seem to love it. Personally I don't really think the panning is entirely justified. There's action in this movie that's well done, but it's there to accentuate the horrors of war over anything else.
The movie is set in a time period where the Japanese take over Korea and draft its denizens to join their army in an effort to take over Russia
Of course things end horribly. There's a reason there's so much emphasis on the Japanese officer who shoots down his own retreating soldiers
Our protagonists get captured by the Russians. When they go to war the main character sees his battalion die in a charge against a well organized Nazi hold. More importantly his childhood friend dies with them.
Again, the Korean guy sees the Commissar shooting down retreating soldiers, and knew very well that he had to get out of there. I like that detail.
Eventually the Japanese officer from the first clip comes with the protagonist to get captured by the Germans, and eventually two Asians found their way into setting up camp on the Eastern German front. Unfortunately it's Normandy.
Keep in mind the Nazis respected Asians in general, and were held in almost high regard as the Aryans. It's realistic they would be accepted that easily.
Ending is well executed. The Korean protagonist dies from shrapnel to the heart, and gives the Japanese officer from the first clip his own dogtags. He tells him to pretend to be a Korean soldier so that the allies won't execute him.
