The shotguns have ADS spread. You already knew this. The values are: Tac-19: 5.5 S12: 5.0 Bulldog: 5.0
However, many other weapons also have ADS spread. For seemingly no reason (well, except the launchers. That makes sense.). All of this is under the source tab of Will's sheet and I did nothing to generate these. However, I had no idea and I presume most of you had no idea either.
Here they are: AE4: 0.1 EM1: 0.5 EPM3: 0.2 MDL: 0.2 RW1: 0.5 Stinger M7: 1.7 MAAWS: 0.5 MAHEM: 1.7 Combat Knife: 0.5 (I assume this is a hold over from previous games)
So, what. All the energy weapons have ADS spread. This makes sense, kind of, sort of, not really, for the EM, but makes zero sense for the AE and the EPM.
The RW also has very large spread when sighted. Now you can blame your missed shots on the game. For a visual representation of 0.5 spread, the ripped energy turret has 0.5 spread when "sighted".
Marvel, et al., are all these values representative of the game and not simply due to my misinterpretation of the source values? Do any attachments change these values for these weapons?

The EPM3 needs ADS spread because if it didn't it would be overpowered.
Why Glen.

But of course.

The em1 I can understand due to its fire rate of 1200. This basically balances the gun by making it really good at mid range but only okay at other ranges.
Even the rw1 I can understand giving it ads spread to make it more specialized at close and mid range (but they should have given it an ads spread of 0.2 or 0.1 not 0.5). In the same sense the m1 irons should have 0.1 ads spread.
But giving ads spread to long range weapons like the ae4 and epm3 is unacceptable. Long range weapons need to have zero ads spread.

I could always tell that there was something funky about the AE4. It's still good at the things it's good at though.
Also all guns should have a tiny bit of ADS spread, because the unCoDding of CoD while keeping it CoD would be a beautiful thing.

Spread is a pretty terrible mechanic that would probably be a mostly pointless addition due to the typical size of COD maps. I've played a lot of Battlefield where spread has been in the game since at least Bad Company (probably since BF1 if I had to guess) and my number one gripe about the series is not feeling in control of your weapon because spread is an inherent RNG mechanic that exacerbates mechanical issues (lag and hit registration primarily).

I'm not talking about ramping it up to Battlefield levels, but CoD's pixel-perfect accuracy is kinda cheesy. A very small amount of ADS spread plus a little bit of sway would make the game a bit less easymode.

No.
You cannot control ADS spread.
You can control sway. If you must, give the guns sway. But ADS spread? Leave that shit in Battlefield.
(In all seriousness, I do think all guns should have sniper rifle sway. After all, snipers are supposed to be the most accurate weapons.)

What about a small (0.2 or 0.1) ads spread for the m1 irons and rw1 to keep them specialized in close and mid range? Obviously it's unacceptable for long and mid range weapons like the ae4 and epm3.

Fair enough. I guess the low damage of the rw1 at long range keeps it specialized enough. M1 irons needs some visual recoil then.

No, it doesn't. It's a six round primary that needs four shots to kill at range.

Or we could just not put spread into the game.

My idea: ADS spread increases as you fire full auto. Many different games do this. None of them are Call of Duty.
