Once again, it is time to rid earth of that big ol' eyeball of puss and ether
This weeks Nightfall is everyone's favourite... The Devil's Lair, with the following mission modifiers - Epic - Heavily shielded and highly aggressive enemies appear in great numbers. - Nightfall - If all players die, your Fireteam is returned to Orbit. - Lightswitch - Minions of the Darkness deal much more melee damage. - Angry - Minions of the Darkness won't flinch, even after massive damage. - Brawler – Guardian melee damage is increased by 300%
One of my new favourite things about the expansion is the different strike for the weekly. This week, to get yer coinz, the weekly heroic strike is the rookie -The Shadow Thief, with the following mission modifiers:
- Heroic - Enemies appear in greater numbers and are more aggressive. - Specialist – Special weapon damage is doubled.
As always, brag here about whatcha did and whatcha got or whatcha got screwed outta

the weekly look deceptively easy....
Icebreaker is double damage? The Vex is double damage? Hell, the 4th Horseman is double damage?
Unless the Fallen are all using special weapons too?

Yeah my sidearm was badass on that weekly. Just popping fool left and right. I felt like a gangster. What's the button to hold it sideways? ;3
It sure was nice just wrecking captains for a change as well. Being arc it would rip right through their shields and I turned on the captain disruption thing too just because. I don't know how much I'll like it when it's not doing double damage, but it was badass on the weekly. 10/10 would wreck again.

Stop the PMs! I know... I forgot.... gawd damn cheese addicts:
Weekly strike Cheese spot for walker (count how many times he says, "Chaps" in the first one, for fun!)
For Sepiks... because there's no burn... it'd take a longer time than norm
Don't do the grate at the bottom left... without burn, yer dead

I suspect this is partly due to player count for this particular part of the game. Strange Coins are becoming less sought after, as there is not much else to buy for most people, so the only way to make it worth doing for a significant amount of people is to make it super easy so they can exchange their Coins for Motes of Light.

Is it really that big a deal? I mean, yes, it gives you a huge damage buff to special weapons, but to be fair that only applies to one of your weapons. Weeklies often have elemental burns which if you have the right class and loadout can apply to all three weapons and your class abilities. I don't feel like this is really easier than that. It does work great with IB which doesn't need ammo, but then it also has a pretty slow regen so you're going to have to switch weapons eventually. I was able to run pretty well with my sidearm without running out too terribly much, but I did switch it up here and there and I used a lot of melee and grenades to round out my attacks and save ammo. Even so I did have to use my primary some.
Yeah sometimes it's easy, but I think it's just random. Bungie gave us more modifiers. We were all bored of the old ones, so I definitely welcome it. This may be one of my new favorite modifiers, but I don't think it actually makes things any easier than an elemental burn... at least on the average. For me, personally, I find this better than most burns simply because my arsenal is limited and I like being able to use any special and get the extra damage.
Of course... I'm an idiot! I should have been using Universal Remote! lulz I don't know why I assumed it would work for Vex for Marko and didn't even think to consider that I have UR sitting unused. damn... Now I can't wait to run my Hunter through it.

True but they kind of made it so it was quicker to get bored of the old ones. How long ago was it when we had void burn for The Devil's Lair, solar burn for The Nexus, and any burn for Cerberus Vae III? Actually if the Summoning Pits had solar burn I'd be tempted to run it without cheesing. I realise that would be seen as easy mode because of Ice Breaker but, with void burn Phogoth two shots you in about 0.01s and arc burn makes Boomers annoying.

My Warlock got the MLB of exotics... NLB. ;3 Actually according to Marko Hard Light is worse, although I've not even touched mine. Too much other stuff to use and that needs XP so my HL has been in the Vault for ages. That also finished my bounty for a shiny new Invective. (Or rather it got me to the next stage that only required special ammo synths of which I had more than enough thanks to wolf chests.) It turns out the new exotics DO have more attack than the old exotics right out of the box, so I capped the XP on the old one (it was only a sliver of a bubble away) and broke it down for 2 exotic shards. Sure I gotta relevel the new one, but I need the shards now more than I need a fully leveled Invective and I didn't have a spare shard to ascend it... and wouldn't have used it on Invective anyway. So I'm better off this way.
2nd NF was on my Hunter... who died... a lot... heh um... I think I got a legendary engram that decrypted to a MG I already have. Hey, gives me options and mebbe I'll reforge them until one of them is really good and break down the other.
Also, dem coinz! Yay tomorrow I should be able to afford it if Xur sells GHorn. lawls... riiiggghhhttt...
PS. I'm actually glad to have NLB. I want to experiment with it. From what I read it has some value if you cancel the cocking animation and I think it has some utility in PvP as well. I played with it some on the weekly since it had a specials double D modifier and Universal Remote was my only other special primary. ;3

You see the good in everyone Mannon... love dat about you The NLB has 2 purposes and 2 purposes alone 1) To do the heavy ammo glitch 2) To drive you crazy thinking that a exotic sniper primary with the exact same stats as the Icebreaker, can't be this bad. bradman's reaction when you brought it out in the 2nd weekly was priceless

I figured I might as well with the special thing. Wish I'd known then how to cancel the animation. You can about double the fire rate.
I'm actually considering running NLB and a sidearm in PvP and using the sidearm as my primary (since always spawn with ammo) and NLB filling in for long range. Should be a pretty fun combo. But no void damage so not gonna attempt that until after I get Thorn done. I could do it with shotgun, but that would leave me no mid range weapon and most of my engagements are mid range. Sticking to Red Death for now... although Universal Remote and sidearm could also be viable, I'd just have to stay out of any long range fights.

In PVP... from research... if you are going to do the NLB in PVP, use a shotgun for your CQC encounters and then NLB for your long range encounters

Yes yes, but sidearms are new. They are really good at short range, but have a bit more range than shotguns. Also the sidearm switches and aims fast and starts with ammo every spawn. So I think it would be a great combo, maybe even better than a shotgun. Next up might be Plan C since on weapon switch it gets that hella fast charge time. But, yet, shotguns could be good too, it's just that combo leaves you weak at mid range where it might be difficult to use NLB unless you're MLG pro with it.

I suppose... but when it comes to the NLB in PVP... just because you can, doesn't mean you should

I loaded up destinylfg... just to give it another shot... quickly found 2 guys to do the nightfall.. ran it relatively smoothly (they both knew what they were doing) and ended up with a Claws of the Ahamkara drop... lower stats than my originals, so another exotic shard
