I'm all about this nightfall. Usually my primaries suck when there's burns because I don't have any primaries with elements, but at least this time primaries get a buff too, yay! (Of course you bros with primaries that do have an element will be pwning serious shit. I expect a full report.)

It's still a really decent weapon and probably worth ascending. Honestly I get more use out of mine than any of the other secondaries. Partly because it comes with ammo, but also it's decent damage, has special attributes, and the range fits sort of between short and mid. Less than hand cannon, more than shotgun. Even with the damage drop off you can use it at some longer ranges vs PvE since it fires fast and ammo's usually not really a problem. It's really quite versatile.
Snipers are pigeon holed into really long range or stationary targets. Fusion rifles are annoying because of the wind up time. (Personal choice here, they can be powerful I just don't find them very satisfying. It's like you're intentionally giving yourself lag... If it was more like the old TFC sniper where you could release at any time for lesser damage I'd probably enjoy them more. Also if you could hold the spun up charge and release it when you wanted... As is I just don't like them.) Shotguns are great, and feel great, but they are very situational. There are a lot of times when getting close to the enemies for shotgunning them is really just not a very good idea.
Enter Vestian Dynasty! I use this thing at nearly every range but long and the back end of mid, which I generally cover with my primary using handcannon (Hawkmoon, baby... you're the one!), scout rifle, or pulse rifle.

Level 34 might not be that much of a step up from level 32 if my game was anything to go by.

Guess 365 fatebringer and 365 Gjallar will reign supreme on LFG this week (if anybody is actually stupid enough to set demands for something like this...) I've already seen it being listed with the Gjallarhorn. Even if I had the maxed gear I'd be cautious in joining because if they are that reliant on the gear, it might be a bad lobby to join. Obviously it's the host's choice, and a loot-based game shouldn't create a huge dependency on one specific weapon, but sometimes forcing yourself to take the time to try and use different weapons to see if they work is better since you're widening your scope of potential fireteam members. I've actually been in a VoG run where some people on some guy's friend's list joined and they wanted the no-Gjallarhorn user to run relic at the Templar on hard mode. And I was thinking "wtf, you're only going to rocket yourself up top anyway and smacking the Templar on his nose with the Icebreaker is awesome anyway". Next time it happens I'll run relic and expect 'them' to be in the obituary feed.

I purposely avoid gear/level requirement LFG's. For eff's sake... it's the Archon Priest. If you don't know what to do, when to do, how to do it in your sleep... then you don't Destiny or you're new to the game.
Either way, I'm confident that I can get the job done, hell, solo if need be. All it means is that if somePUGer dies, it takes me a bit longer to res them. But hell, sometimes, that's how you have to learn. One time, I died right at Valus and couldn't get res'd for the entire 30 minute boss fight.... think I'm gonna be stupid enough to use that strategy again? Nopenopenope

fatebringer maxxed does 11K + per headshot on this NF. Nighthawk oneshots the hydras with exactly 32K damage.
This week's nf is a blast.

I've also seen level requirements for Trials of Osiris and wondered if the level differences were widened but I've had confirmation that being a level 33 isn't a problem.

Killed him with a fireteam of 3.5 (I actually rocketed myself halfway ) . He was easier to 4 man than the oracles HM were. VoG is actually fun again if you run it with a four man team.

I thought we were on the nightfall topic. I sorta agree with specifics on ToO... from what I understand, you do need some sort of communication and organization and it's harder to PUG than crucible/IB. IF I were LFGing it, I'd at least want my PUGers to have a mic.

Here's a question. What gear is available now for the armor core you can get from PoE 32? First week was gloves, then chest (I got the chest). It sounds like PoE 32 is maybe even more doable this week so it might be worth doing that even before IB if I can use the armor piece to get level 33 in my PvP gear. (Currently I can only hit 33 with Omind, which is sub-optimal for PvP.)

Yeah but this was a case of ignoring how good and comfortable these players are in running relic against the Templar. If you're going to send an inexperienced relic user because they have no Gjallarhorn then you're just prolonging how long the game should take since it's quite likely the relic will get dropped and there's nobody there to pick it up. So just use the rock to the right side instead. I'd probably would need a selective team to four man VoG as I usually have a few inexperienced players with the group of people I play with. The Harpies usually blow someone up outside. Plus, relic duty is actually pretty fun and you will need learn to do it sooner or later because of the Atheon stage.

QoL improvement from the update is the removal of the maximum stacks for ammo synth packs.

Goodbuy Sparrow racing... ;-/ Sure, sure... double dipping the either chests was a bit of an exploit. But it was a fun exploit. They really should implement some sort of "racing" activity and get some more use out of our sparrows. Nearly everyone loves driving them, but there's precious little you can do in the game of any value to your character on them, save occasionally racing through areas of strikes, or going from public event to public event. I don't know why Bungie decided to blinder themselves to the on foot stuff. Hell you barely even see other vehicles in the game. The Halo games featured a lot of really cool vehicular combat and such, but Destiny is sorely lacking in content for vehicles despite actually having them implemented in the game.
Oh well...

If you have more than 5 you should really start running PoE At least trice a week to get those exotic drops.

Apparently somebody on Reddit ran PoE28 20 times and found they actually got pretty decent loot just from that alone. Clearly I need to be doing PoE a lot more. heh

It's what? 20 to 25 minutes per shot? That's like nine to ten hours of work per week...one just one part of the game.

Well you don't have to do it 20 times. heh heh I just found it surprising that the loot is as good as it is for something with matchmaking that can be run more than once per week.

iw5000: I think the main point of that thread was that running PoE on 28 was more efficient than running the strike playlists as far as rewards go. It's not something most people are going to do or be expected to do when there's so much other stuff going on anyway, but it's a good use of playing time if you have everything else you need cleared out already.

Yeah it just shows that PoE28 is good for something other than unlocking PoE32. I'm okay with that. I probably still won't run it very much, but it could be worth doing here and there instead of just farming bounties and patrols.
