Things I noticed:
0:15 -- Faction gear or faction shaders, whichever, look pretty cool. 0:18 -- "Your light score is an average of the attack and defense value across all your currently equipped gear. A higher light score improves both your damage output and your defense." 0:20 -- FWC ship looks sweet. 0:22 -- Legendary Marks "Obtained from Daily Heroic and Daily Crucible playlists, as well as dismantling Legendary gear." 0:22 -- Crucible gear going with a Seattle Seahawks color theme? Lots of lime green, dark blue, and grey in there. 0:23 -- 10 Legendary Marks awarded for what appears to be a daily heroic. 0:25 -- 16 bounty spaces. 32 Quest spaces? 0:29 -- Peak at the new faction system. "You can only hold one allegiance at a time, and can only change allegiances once per week." Costs 2500 glimmer. Glimmer cap still appears to be 25K. I guess that means we'll have to wait about a month to be able to take full advantage of all that faction rep we've been edging up. 0:30 -- Close up of that sweet new faction gear. 0:34 -- Exotic weapon blueprints. Is that Thunderlord under the year 2 heading? 0:43 -- Another new faction gear shot. I want.
I am so hype.

Good to know that the rep edging can still be somewhat useful. First week: benefit from Vanguard / Crucible / 1 Faction (probably to hit all 3 by choosing a different one from each of my 3 characters), then get the remaining two in subsequent weeks. This also means that it is not necessary to have all faction reps edged right out of the gate. More freedom for the next 4 weeks, as I can choose to get over the edge on one fraction and it won't feel like a big deal. Otherwise I would have run out of room by the end of this week.
Glad that daily heroic rewards will be adjusted. May them for subclass leveling up anyway, would like to have more reasons to play them.

Key points summary: 1) Levels will be grandfathered in. If you’re 34 now, you’ll be 34 after The Taken King launches. They'll be able to figure out what level you should be based on the gear owned by you character or what's in your vault, and you'll automatically start at the highest possible level you can be.2) Ghosts have their own Light level. Class Items and Ghost Shells (!!!) with power perks will be available at The Speaker. Class item perks focus on gettig you level up faster (gears and reps), ghost shells have perks to help you find different resources, like spirit bloom. 3) Light level will be an average of your weapons and armors. Year 1 gear damage/defense numbers will be "normalized" to Year 2 numbers (e.g.: 365 -> 170?), the good way to think of it is like converting to "metric system". 4) Ability Cooldown now shown in seconds. 5) 32 Quest slots and 16 Bounty slots in The Taken King. Track progress with your Ghost and turn Bounties in right from the menu. Won't have to go to tower. Track them on your HUD. You are able to track 4 bounties at a time. 6) Quests will have a variety of rewards, including unlocking the new subclass. 7) Everyone who plays The Taken King will get one Spark of Light. Grab it at The Postmaster. Boost a new character or new subclass to Level 25. Level needed to play The Taken King is 25. 8) You can switch weapons in the Tower as you would in normal play, by clicking Y/Triangle. 9) NEW EMBLEM KIOSK! (these are officially named as "collections) This will help you save vault space. Collections for Emblems, Shaders, and Ships allow you to store the gear you’ve found and help you track down the stuff you haven't. 10) Declare Allegiance to a Faction (cost 2500 glimmers). Get the specific Faction items you want. Change factions once per week at the most. Current faction ranks will carry over to The Taken King. In TTK: Faction Allegiance: Earn Faction rep and Vanguard/Crucible rep in parallel. Pledge a Faction. Wear whatever class piece you want. Upgrade packages will guarantee a legendary gear, motes/lights, and shaders/emblems (the ones you already own will not be dropped again so eventually you'll be able to get all of them this way) 11) Crucible bounties will now have harder bounties. Finishing all crucible bounties for the week from Shaxx can get you nightfall level rewards. Yes! It's about time... 12) Quests and Bounties are offered by a variety of characters, including Lord Shaxx with unique rewards for Crucible veterans. Shaxx also has legendary shells, that have Crucible specific perks like gaining additional glimmer by killing Titans. 13) Vanguard and Crucible Marks will become a single currency: Legendary Marks, making it far easier to get the stuff you want. It is also now at account level instead of character level. There is no cap to how many Legendary Marks you can earn in a week. You can store 200 at a time. Play, store, spend. Repeat.In other words, they are exactly like glimmer now. Single currency shared across characters, no weekly earning limit, does have a storage limit. 14) Oh, and existing Marks will be automagically converted into Reputation Commendations that you can turn into the rep you want. What?! That's robbery... 15) Year 2 Legendaries will dismantle into Legendary Marks. Year 1 Legendaries shard into whatever they shard into right now. 16) Exotic Blueprints allow you to “print” new copies of Exotics you earned in Year 1 AND access select Year 1 gear upgraded for Year 2. Exotic Blueprints will also show you all of the Exotics you have yet to discover and earn.Earned a crappy exotics and don't want it to take vault space? Shard it . You can print another copy when it is buffed... (Dreg's Promise, I am talking about you) Ghorn does not seem to be on that Year 2 list?!17) The Cryptarch will now sell Legendary Engrams. And they are guaranteed to be a weapon of legendary+? 18) Field Test Foundry weapons or complete Quests for The Gunsmith. Earn reputation. Place orders for the Armsday Legendary Weapons you want. markopolo: I am looking forward your weekly reset thread to include this as well 19) Infusion lets you to “feed” your favorite Year 2 weapons with higher power gear. Don’t toss that shotty when you earn a higher level Fusion! Basically, you let your favorite weapons "consume" other weapons to become stronger. Great way to keep a "god roll" weapon relevant, as well as burn those unwanted legendaries (alternative to shard them for marks). 20) Vault Space doubled for weapons, more than double for Armor. 72 slots for each!.21) Sword is confirmed as a real weapon22) (from Bungie's official twitter account) Remember, Guardians. No matter what you learned today on the stream, don't Dismantle a thing before you start to play The Taken King.

What gear you have equipped does not matter at all, so don't worry about making sure you have the "right" stuff equipped. I figured there had to be something like that coming. It wouldn't make all that much sense to be able to buy complete sets of endgame (or slightly below endgame, I guess) gear as soon as you drop into TTK. It sounds like the Legendary Marks won't be that hard to come by, so we should be able to start buying new stuff fairly soon anyway. Also, getting commendations that you can break down for rep will let you rank up your factions while saving all those 5K XP bounties for something more useful, like quickly leveling up the new subclasses. Faction packages sound like they're supposed to be much improved, so hopefully we'll still be able to cash in with some quick Legendary gear though those. Indeed. Curious to see if they purposely left it out just to get the internet buzzing, or if it's really not being carried forward.

Any mentioning of bigger vault/character capacity? 1) Vault slots for weapons and armors have increased to 72 (weapon = doubled, amor = more than doubled); 2) Emblem/Shader/Ship kiosks (officially called "collections") take away the need to store them in vault. So you have a lot more slots in general space (to hold currencies / materials / resources). 3) For each exotic you earned, you'll have it available at Exotic Blueprint "Collections", where you can "print" new copies. In other words, if you earned a crappy exotic and you don't want it taking vault space, it is safe to shard it for now. If in the future you find a need for it (say an exotic weapon is buffed), you can just print a new one and start using it;

So, i never have to keep an exotic weapon in my vault? Just print and go? Well, newly printed ones will only have the "intrinsic perk" unlocked. So for your favorite exotics you wouldn't want to shard, print, and have to re-upgrade again. But say you see zero reason to use Dreg's Promise right now, but you have to keep it in vault for collection purpose, then you can go ahead and shard it once TTK drops (don't do that before TTK!!!). 3 months later, Bungie does another round of weapon balance and suddenly Dreg's Promise = new "Thorn". No problem, just print a new one and you are good.

No year 2 version of the Necrochasm will annoy a few people for sure. And that is why I put limits on farming gear etc.
Wondering how many actual new guns we're getting and I was surprised with the Light Beyond Nemesis getting Inverse Shadow as a year 2 version. All this talk on Reddit about power creep applying to the usual weapons, could it not also apply to armour too?
I will look forward to seeing how much solar damage attacks the Taken does in their next stream given three notable weapons are being nerfed in the upcoming weapon patch are all solar. Would like to see if bullet sponge bosses and getting OHK'd is still Bungie's way of making content hard.
