The 25k Glimmer cap is silly when I have nearly 200k Glimmer in my vault. You mean through the materials that can exchange into glimmer? If yes, these things are much harder to earn than glimmers. Yes but over time you can stock up a lot and, so long as you don't overspend, you should have enough. When special ammo packs were given from Ether chests, I got rid of them and used the Companion App to place one of each Glimmer item in my inventory to guarantee Glimmer pickups. I still do the Vanguard bounties, which often gives Glimmer consumables, e.g. Sardok. Then all of the bosses are guaranteed to drop them, except Omnigul, if you have dealt damage soon enough before they die. I make sure I pick them up from strikes, PoE and in the Raids so they add up. Variks gives me a fair amount of Ether Seeds as all of my characters are rank 3 with him, and there's no need to use Black Wax Idols with Eris Morn.

I do that, plus glimmer grinding gatekeeper during iron banner weeks, which drops a lot. I spend glimmer constantly - I drop 25k glimmer per week on the Trials weapon just for weapon parts.

Confirmed: you can still exchange marks into planet mats post TTK:
However, it is unclear this is only the new Legendary mark, or the old Vanguard / Crucible marks as well.

This might be obvious to others...
But regarding exotics... (To use me for an example) since I run 3 of the same class, but want to run a different one in the future, play the engram lottery and any different class exotics, you will get the blueprints of, for future use when the update happens
Tl;dr: play tge engram lottery and keep everything... Especially perfect rolls on armormentariums, bones of eo, and celestial nighthawks

Is playing the lottery a better idea than hording motes for weapons leveling?

So...
Are exotic shards worth anything in the future?
If you don't have a particular exotic (never gotten it or sharded every one you've gotten) is it important to pursue it at this point?
What is worth actually spending time on at this point?
Is it worth stockpiling engrams in the mail?
Why do Noghtfalls/Weeklies/Dailies?
Will Queen's and Judgement rep be worth anything?
Why play engram lottery? What percentage of these exotics are carrying forward?
I'll be honest. I haven't kept up on the news and I'm too lazy to read all the articles......

1. We don't know.
2. Depends on the exotic. There is a list of exotics detailing the oens being brought forward and those being left behind. If you are chasing the Vex, just give up. Bungie decided to leave it behind, contradicting their stance of trying to respect players' grind, and making existing content pointless. Just run the Vault of Glass on normal for the exotic chances.
3. Trials of Osiris, if that.
4. Only for a rank buffer after TTK has been released. The engrams will still decrypt to HoW gear.
5. Dailies have always been of marginal significance, the Weekly Heroic is dependent on the number of Strange Coins you have, and the Nightfalls depends if you are still after a bog standard exotic.
6. Probably not. I only do these bounties because of their high XP value to rank up gear. I only have a Knucklehead Radar and Universal Remote that need to start being leveled, but they are not good enough to warrant the time invested to rank them up.
7. I think about half. There's a megathread on it on Reddit.

Hoard everything is the safe way to go.
Specifcally speaking, now is probably not a good time to play exotic lottery. Wait until TTK and 1) more chances of getting stuff you don't have and 2) there might be other higher priority ways to spend motes.
Also, for bros who want to take a break from Destiny now is the best time.

Mal, I think wings is pretty much right. I'd add that doing stuff to edge up your faction rep and max your marks is probably a decent time investment as that can get you some new gear quickly once TTK drops. Otherwise just hoard everything until we know more.

Also, save up as many public event packages and 5000 XP bounties as you can. Wait to turn them in until you unlock your new subclass to get a nice jump on leveling that up.

Redbull esports is hosting a Rift exhibition on Twitch today, featuring 5v5 (game mode is designed to be 6v6) best of 7, captained by Flamesword and TripleWreck. Check out the rebroadcast to see what the Crucible looks like with: 1) TTK weapons; 2) rebalance in action; 3) new subclasses; 4) Rift game mode; Initial impression: looking good. Rift looks intense, Sunbreaker poised to be the best PvP class offensively, and Suros Pulse Rifle looks strong, sidearm popular seems to suggest that shotty is nerfed hard. Also, a surprise at the last 30 minutes

is it me or do the new grenades all seem lackluster?
I also question how those flaming grenades work, in which direction they go. Does it go in the direction from your position to where the grenade exploded? Or is it random, how the grenade bounces etc in which direction it 'spews'?
Titan hammers also seem not THAT good, being airborne seems like a good defense against it.

Titan hammers also seem not THAT good, being airborne seems like a good defense against it. On new grenades, my impression is that they are designed more for control than for kills. Should be useful for obj game modes: control, zone control, rift, etc. Titan hammer has similar nature as golden gun, but one for short range and the other is for long range. I am not sure getting airborne is a good defense, you can throw the hammer directly on the body and get a kill. I am more worried about Warlock's "zap". It takes some time to get a kill, while Golden Gun and Flaming Hammer are instant. However, it does look like you can move faster when using it (probably due to floating in the air), and I heard that subclass has the best melee ability.

It doesn't seem too easy to get a direct hit with a hammer though, at least not as easy as golden guns hitscan. I could be wrong though.

Hammer is supposed to be CQC weapon so I believe it is projectile. That said, it still has longer range and can use multi times, making it more versatile than Nova Bomb and Fist of Havoc. Vs. Golden Gun: GG can only be used 3-4 times. Unclear to me how many times you can throw the hammer. If more than 4, then I would prefer it over GG.

Sunbreaker poised to be the best PvP class offensively I have a difficult time seeing that. Sunbreaker grenades just aren't good enough compared to arcbolt, firebolt, or axion bolt. Plus they're still stuck with the crappy no-range Titan melee. EDIT: And actually, after watching enough of that exhibition, it seems like the Sunbreaker super is kind of a pain in the ass to use too. I'm definitely less excited about Sunbreakers than I was before. On the other hand, I'm more interested in the Nightstalker hunter now. Still, from what I've seen, Bladedancer and Sunsinger look to remain the top 2 PvP subclasses.

I heard Warlock Stormcaller has the best melee. So maybe overall still better than Sunbreaker. I have been a Hunter fan since day 1 (still not sure why exactly until this day), so this time Nightstalker is definitely going to be the first one I focus on.

Thanks for this... I found this too and quite enjoyed it. It really sticks it up the Big Fangoola of all the mouth breathers who gurgle that Destiny doesn't have a story. Granted, it's not the greatest story in the history of video gaming... but Destiny does get an unfair degree of criticism for it (NOTE: not saying that the criticism of Destiny's story line isn't valid, rather the amount and degree of criticism is)

As a long time Halo fan, I am thrilled by the needler Telesto:
That just sounds swell to the fans of beloved "pink explosion of death" in Halo CE, probably this time in purple flavor (due to void damage)?
And the Chaperone shotty, doesn't it sound like the KSG from BLOPS2?

I hope the telesto actually has any benefit though. Delaying a effect means that the opponent dies later, giving them a chance to do more damage.
So I hope the explosion has some decent AoE or that the explosion is EXTRA damage, not part of the normal fusion rifle damage, otherwise, it will be pretty useless.
