I am most interested in the system of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 on the PC. But from what I know, it should use the same type across platforms. And I also believe that they haven't changed the type of lag compensation in any of the titles. At first I thought that Black Ops 2 (or, any other COD) used Server-side lag compensation because of hit registration and how it would be delayed if you had latency. Then I thought that maybe the hit detection was client side but the player models and other things were handled server side. Then I thought the reverse. Now I think that they use a hybrid-type of lag compensation where the hit detection is server-side and the player models are client-side. Again, I'm not very sure. I would really like for someone here to clarify since you guys seem to know quite a bit about the game. I have searched but haven't found anything conclusive. I found a lot of other posts on other forums and websites but I wasn't convinced that they were any more knowledgeable than I am.

lag comp by definition is server side. Great! Thanks for the clarification.
