I had a few questions on the House of Wolves
1. "Queens Wrath" Question.
Is there any real benefit to being Level 3 with the Queens Wrath? It doesn't appear to take long getting to Lv3, doing the various bounties (Weksis, Beltrick, etc,...), but once at level three, there don't appear to be any real good things to get. Emblems, then a Shader, and then at lv3, more shaders, a ship, and the gun 'Vestian Dynasty', which is something you get for free anyways after the initial story play through. So am I missing something? Why do these bounties to level up stuff? The 4,500xp is less than the 5,000xp on the regular vanguard and crota bounties. And the latter don't require you to wait around for something to appear. The best I can tell, is that doing these bounties, are the mechanism to getting more keys?
- So is getting those keys, is this the benefit to Queens Wrath stuff? Any other reason to be level 3?
2. "Prison of Elders" Question
From what I think I know, you can do the level 28 PoE as much as you want each week. Each of your characters has unlimited runs, to get the chests that have materials, gear, engrams, Marks (+6) and Rep (+25). Go at it and have fun. Some questions here:
- I can't find the find that discussed this, but IF you have a key, and use it on the Level 28 PoE big chest at the very end....does that give you a guaranteed shot at an exotic weapon each week? Was that how it worked? You can do this only once, per character, per week?
3. Varik's "House of Judgment" Question
I see there's levels zero to level three here too. And again, the only real benefit as one levels up that I see, is getting access to some clothing/robes stuff, then more ships, and finally, some new shaders. Shaders are nice, but kind of dumb. I can only store like nine of them and there are like well over fifty by now. So imho, why bother.
- So I guess the way one levels up here, is to just do the PoE at the various levels? The 25, 200, 300 and 500 rep points per PoE attempt.
- So what's the benefit of being level three? Anything else? From what I see, the good stuff with Varik to get can be bought at any level...and all you need is either a armor core, weapon core or the package. But you get those things, regardless of what House of Judgment level you are. This seems circular. Level doesn't help you get these things. You need those 'cores' to get the good stuff.
4. PoE-Lv28 vs Dragon Strikes (Lv 28)
Any real benefit or difference between these two? As to why a person might do one versus the other? Both of them seem to offer the same reward package. At least it seems like that. (gear, engrams, marks, rep). But.... am I leveling up the House of Judgment when I do the former, as opposed to the Vanguard house with the latter? Or is this a nonfactor, getting to what I was asking in question three.

1. Not past level 3 yet. I >hope< it's not like Eris where you max out. Instead, to guess, it'll be similar to the vanguard/cryptarch/etc etc where you will get glimmer, bonus rep, and a gift of a weapon or two
2. I thought that's what it was (guaranteed exotic drop) but I haven't seen it confirmed anywhwere. It was like that when HoW came out... if I have time, I'll research it.
3. I would hope that the HoJ system is what I hope QW will be in #1 above... bonus glimmer, chance of a weapon/armour core, Queens weapon
4. You're not leveling up HoJ... rather they are including the DLC strikes in that play list. Much like they did with Omnigul last time around

The best I can tell, is that doing these bounties, are the mechanism to getting more keys? - So is getting those keys, is this the benefit to Queens Wrath stuff? Any other reason to be level 3? Yeah, the main purpose seems to be to get more keys from what I can tell. That being said, you do start getting rank up packages once you hit rank 3, just like you do from the vanguard, crucible, or other factions. The Queen ones are a little different though. They have a chance of containing a treasure key and I think you're guaranteed one of the Queen's weapons (some of which are pretty good) and some planetary materials (spinmetal, etc), not that those are really needed all that much. Personally I really want the Queen's sniper rifle (Her Benevolence) to reroll for PvP perfection. Yes, you can do level 28 as often as you want, just like if you were running a strike playlist. If you have a key, you can open the big chest any time and get a loot drop. The guaranteed exotic was only for the first time that character opened the big chest. Not first time each week, just the very first time overall. Yeah, I'm not really sure here as I've barely gotten past rank 1. It could be like Eris, where once you hit max rank that extra rep is pointless, or maybe you start getting rank up packages from him at rank 3. Somebody with more PoE completions (i.e. Post) would have to chime in here. Somebody on reddit posted the drop results from 20 level 28 PoE runs and it was actually pretty good. 3 exotics, 5 legendaries, several treasure keys, a bunch of engrams, coins, and motes. Something like that anyway, and that was only counting the actual drops and the small chests at the end that you're guaranteed to get -- the big chest rewards weren't counted at all to keep the comparison more fair. So if you have treasure keys, PoE seems like a much better investment, though 20 runs is a fairly small sample size so maybe the difference isn't that substantial over the long haul. And yes, PoE will get you HoJ rep, strikes will get you vanguard/faction rep.

1. That's pretty much it for Queen's Wrath for now. Maybe they will add more stuff later. As is it's a few extra weekly bounties you can do if you want. I believe only the wanted ones count for the guaranteed key per week, although key drops have been increased overall. I would actually buy another Vestian Dynasty or two if there were any reforge possibilities with them... As is I don't see any reason to buy one.
2. There is a once per character guaranteed exotic, but it is NOT once per week. If you want a new guaranteed exotic you'll have to delete and restart your character, and grind through HoW story to unlock PoE. Then you'll have another guaranteed exotic.
3. You also get things to turn in to him for stuff but have to be at least rank 1 I think to turn them in. Just storing mine for now.
In general there's only a few things and mostly cosmetic things that are reputation locked in HoW. That's fine with me. I didn't need another huge rep grind. Seems like the real grind in HoW is EL.
4. That's about the size of it in PoE28 vs Dragon. I suspect PoE28 might have a higher chance at HoW loot, but I don't know. It could even be slightly better. I really don't know.

Oh ok. That makes sense on the PoE lv 28 stuff. Yeah, I got two new exotics on the first Lv 28 runs. I think two characters have hit the big chest, as I only had two keys so far (my warlock still needs to finish the story) One was a Thunderlord (my 4th one). No Ghorn. I didn't connect the dots, with the difference between first time, and weekly. All good now.
So I guess my warlock still have a free exotic coming at the big chest.
As far as Dragon Strikes versus PoE-lv28 runs.....seems like a no brainer. Just do the PoE Lv 28.

1: You get a guaranteed key for the first bounty you turn in each week. The rest is all cosmetic as far as we know right now.
2: The small chest already give you a chance at an exotic! Somebody at reddit ran it 20 times and got three exotics! That is excuding the big chest and keys. You get a guaranteed exotic the first time you open the chest on a character EVER. Doesn't matter on which dificulty. The only thing the difficulty changes are the guaranteed rewards (lvl 32 armour core, lvl 34 weapon core + EL, lvl 35 Armour core + weapon core + EL)
Other than that there is always the random rewards from the chest, and the random queens weapon from the chest you need the key for. This does not change depending on the level you play.
3: All cosmetic as well I think. But they might add some stuff later. I don't know.
4: I have no idea how the rewards compare between these two. Prison has great rewards is all I know, but the strikes might have equally great rewards, have not seen any info on that. In prison you can also get keys, something I don't think you can get from strikes.

Yeah someone was using the Hard Light in the Crucible. Needless to say he or she was not doing too well and gave up using the gun after a few minutes.

I'm doing it purely becaue bradman told me once you max it out, it's a good gun. Last night I had my first positive experience with it! After going broke 1) buying that sexxxy reef ship, 2) converting my AM/RM to motes and having to spend 50 glimmer per, 3) Maxing out some forgotten exotics (Suros... whatchu doing there?) I was down to 1000 glimmer (something that probably, hasn't happened since day 1 of playing the game) So, I went down to the 3 musketeers for some quick 15 minute, 4k glimmer session Took out Hard Light, and practiced some geometry with it... turns out that I was getting the right angle to shoot at the floor and headshot the musketeers... was getting good at bouncing it off the wall too (SGA: if there is a computer/something against the wall or a false ceiling, HL will not ricochet off that... it has to be pure wall/floor/ceiling... ie: concrete, cave stone) So foes that hide around corners can be richocheted to death in the right circumstances... I wonder how it would work against the Archon Priest.... Once it's maxed, it's gonna sit with the Suros and wait for the AR buff or maybe they'll buff the specific Volatile Light perk (double damage or something) But as of right now, it's the worst exotic gun in the game... at least you can heavy ammo glitch the NLB and the SGA is awesome for Oracles and giving you your missed ammo back. All the HL does is just kill foes $hitily. Which is too bad... it's a cool gun, with a great sight, sound, and look to it. But wow, it's $hitty.

I have a question: How many times can you earn a particular reward from Brother Vance per character each week? So far I heard only getting to Mercury is limited.

You can only buy each of the packages and get loot from the Lighthouse once per character. You can buy the armor and weapon as many times as you want. I think they're 250 glimmer each, making that one of the cheapest sources of weapon parts / armor materials in the game.

I might be misremembering since it's been a couple weeks, but I think we got up to 9 wins in about 90 minutes or so, finishing 9-1. 2 of those wins were freebies from the boons and we also lost twice with 1 forgiven due to the boon, so we played 9 games total. 10 minutes per game sounds about right to me.

Well, if your goal is 9-0 for the Lighthouse, 8 wins (for all rewards except the Lighthouse visit), 7 wins to be able to buy the weapon, or something like that, it could take quite a bit longer if you run into good teams and have to reset your card a few times. If you're only shooting for 5 wins to get the armor, it could take as little as 30 minutes.

Not sure if you were clear on this, but you also don't have to do it all at once, nor do you need to do it with the same people the whole time.
Also, I recommend that when you complete a passage, you switch characters to one you haven't done it with yet/the one that has unlocked the least rewards.
Wait to buy the "if you win the next game it counts as two wins" boon until you're 2 wins away from whatever your goal is.

Also, if you're at 8 wins and your card has a loss, stop. You don't get any extra reward for 9 wins with a loss.

The Trials passage complete message is a great thing to see though, after winning a game. In the end ToO is all about practice, preferably with the same group. So I would advice you to just fill it up before you start a new one. This gives you a great opportunity to play a little more risky. Try some rush tactics etc.

Thanks. The above is good advice, but for some people (like myself) it's pretty meaningless at the moment, as you need a group to play the ToO I can't access it right now if playing solo.

I have to sort out and find PostMortem's solution when he had this problem, it's on this board somewhere. What I am going through, sounds a little like what happened to him.
Thank you for the offer though...but my playtime is still spotty though. I can't schedule anything in advance (like certain nights). I'm kind of stuck with random times now, getting on at the last minute ..and then the amount of time available is uncertain. House project stuff (but hopefully soon winding down)

The loot system is actually rewarding in Trials and I'd think you'd benefit from it since you've done a metric ton of COD clan battles. Also, if anyone knows, what the doo-doo is a ringer? Some listing on the100 is asking for two ringers for Trials. Is that a PvP sherpa or something?

'ringer' is kind of an American term for someone who can step in and kick some ass. At least i think that's what they were getting at.
I guess that phrase isn't used to much in the UK? I always find that kind of fascinating. Last year with CoD, we did a lot of co-playing with a few British clans (SOW, etc..) and i always found it fun to hear how the two sides used completely different phrases for gaming.

I guess that phrase isn't used to much in the UK? Nope. I guess a pubstomper would be what I'd call it. The thing is with Trials is I've seen good players on my side have rough moments so if you don't get off to a good start, others might not realise the good player is just not getting his/her usual way. Plus if your teammates aren't communicating or near you to revive, it won't matter how good your individual skill is. Yesterday I played a match and we were 4-1 down and it looked like one of their fireteam members rage quitted leaving his teammates behind, so my team came back to win 5-4. That would suck balls if their fireteam member got babooned/weaseled. I'd rather that happen to those who overdo teabagging just because it will probably make them rage harder than non-teabaggers.
