It actually does. You can still hear it, but it's definitely quieter.

It sounds quieter to you and other players.
I had to make a class without Blast Suppressor to test this, since I've never played a game without it.

Does it matter? Do players not use this perk?

Does it matter? Do players not use this perk? I play mostly Hardcore Search. I run Lightweight to play the game and Low Profile for convenience and I've been running Blast Suppressor to play the game and Scavenger so that I can always ditch my mags on every reload. I was considering dropping Low Profile and Blast Suppressor to see what else I can do with those 4 points, but there isn't really anything I've been left wanting on these classes so nvm.

Oh, yeah, drop it. It's quieter for sure, but still incredibly easy to sound whore, especially in HC SND.

Yeah I hear people with Blast Suppressor all the time, but I feel like it might reduce the range at which you're guaranteed to be heard. If it does and that range difference is significant enough then it's totally worth it. If not I guess I'll add Cold-Blooded to Gung-Ho.

It is quieter, but you can still hear it across a decently small map (Specifically on Bio Lab, you can hear it from opposite sides). Of course this only applies to SnD, where things are slow enough (and thus quiet enough) to actually hear it.

Or do you think if an enemy is far enough that they don't hear your blast suppressor then they're so far away that it doesn't even matter if they hear you or not?

Depends on the player, the map, and even more so, the game mode. Louder game modes, Domination, TDM, Free-For-All, etc. it will probably be less important to run. Though, if your class depends on Stealth, or getting close to people (*cough* Shotguns *cough*), I'd say keep it. So, in short, it just depends on the purpose of your class.

The Blast Suppressor sound is chiller but still crazy loud if Mousey.
But also those sounded like first person sounds, not third person sounds. First person sounds don't mean shit, sir.

Do note that the sound doesn't represent the volume min/max in soundalias.
Those were just the original sound files, in game it can be 0.1 * and it can't go over 1 (or else you'd get artifacting).
