I'm assuming radii, but idk lol.

It's degrees from the center. Radius is sin(hipspread)*distance to target So how do you calculate the change in area of the circle based on change in degrees? Do you need a distance to target to do that?

Uh yeah. The area that your bullets can go to gets bigger as you move further away. If you have it then you just take the other formula and area is pi*r^2 If youre looking to find an effective range of a weapon's hipfire youre basically screwed. Youd need to find the overlap of a player model with the potential hipfire area at a given range, then pick some arbitrary threshold.. Then you have to consider that things like enemy movement, orientation, pitch of the player aiming all affect this as well and it becomes pretty much impossible to get any useful metric out of it. If you just want a direct comparison of hipfire quality between guns then just compare sin(hipspread)^2 since thats the area's dependance on the hipfire value. Yeah, that last part. Thanks. I'm squaring hipspread then taking its sine, right? Not squaring the sine of the hipspread?

Well shit.
Okay for a spread of 6.8 I got .244 and for 7.65 I got .96. How do I compare those values?

So when I divide those and get 1.27 does that mean the smaller one is 27% more accurate?
Also if I divide 7.65 by 6.8 and then square that I get pretty much the same answer.

1.125^2=1.265
The 6.8 one shoots 8 pellets, the 7.65 one shoots 9 pellets. Going from the Sledgehammer to the Upper Cut you get a 12.5% increase in pellets and a 27% decrease in hip accuracy. From the Upper Cut to the Sledgehammer you lose 11% of your pellets and gain 21% in hip accuracy. The Sledgehammer has no benefits when ADS'd and a slightly worse mobility penalty, but I'm always worried about pulling the trigger before ADS spread occurs.
I play Touch Football (the mode that makes AW playable) so I'm just concerned with landing one pellet. With both variants it's disturbing how possible it is for every pellet to miss from not that far.
