My usual question: are Varik's stuff worth buying? Armor depends on what you have already, what stat splits you're looking for, etc. Hard to say really, but generally speaking I'd say yes on the Hunter and Titan boots, maybe on Warlock depending on how you value strength. The weapon is absolute trash. It's a rocket launcher with shank burn LOL.

So Varik's is selling only boots this week? I need gloves and chest for my Titan :-( You can get ELs from PoE and level up your Titan if you so choose. Let's plan it in the XONE thread. With your schedule back to normal, in a few weeks you probably will have more ELs than you care for.

I think the level 32 only gives weapon core stuff. And it's only for boots this week.

My usual question: are Varik's stuff worth buying? The armor has been worth buying every week to date. The bonuses you get for wearing the armor in the appropriate room of PoE are such that you are better off wearing it regardless of the stats. If wearing all Hive gear gives you 0 intellect, 0 discipline, and 450 strength, you're still best off wearing it when you're in the Hive room. Also, Hunters and Warlocks don't need much Intellect when running PoE, as generally they use their supers very infrequently, and are better off with more discipline and strength.

The armor has been worth buying every week to date. I'm not sure if Cabal stat boosts are needed much but may be that is me. I'd focus on stat boosts for Fallen and Vex personally.

Boots with increased heavy capacity? Sweet, these are the only pieces I need to hit 34 on all my characters.

Might try it again when I'm level 35 myself.

Fang of Ir Yut, P&T, and a Arc Heavy. The P&T is key. One person can take out the tank in two sequences. You can also chase the boss away in just 5 to 10 seconds each sequence. Our second NF run, we got it done in like 7 min, 25 seconds.

I used a Rhadeghast Fury rocket launcher for my arc heavy, at 331. PvP roll. It was more than sufficient.
Regarding the tank sequence, which is the only hard sequence that can kill you on this NF:
We did three runs. We had the Hunter do the tank killing each time. Two people guard the flanks (tunnell and opposite door), Hunter take out the tank. Hunter goes invisible, runs up on the ledge, sets up, and then fires away. I think the invisibility delays the tank's aiming mechanism. By the time it sees you, you can land 3 or 4 shots, and make the tank shut down before it even fires, exposing it's engine. Then pop 3 or 4 engine shots (90,000 to 120,000 damage)...and then run away. Crouch, reload, go invisible, repeat. The sequence takes under a minute.
By the time we got to the final room/stage, the boss only had a sliver of health left. The final stage took like 20 seconds. We ran in the room, shot at the boss, he died immediately in the first volley.
This was the fastest NF I have ever done.

I'll do you one better, IW. Shoot the cannon thing on top of the tank instead of the legs. I'm not sure how many P&T shots it took because it was so quick, but I think it was 6. Maybe 8. The cannon gets blown off and the tank is dead. THebb and I killed it so fast we were in disbelief. We had ducked back into cover to reload and popped back out to continue shooting it, and were both like "WTF? It's dead already?!" The tank was only in the room for 20 seconds tops. It was dead before the adds (exploder shanks and whatnot) even got into the room.
I'll have some free time tonight so I might go back and see exactly how many shots it takes. All I know is I've never seen a spider tank thing die that fast, ever, and that's including the Sepiks strike on solar burn where everyone just Icebreakers or Black Hammers that tank down in no time.

A few more tips: 1) because Arc Burn + Specialist, any Arc Special weapons are pretty great to use. e.g.: If you have a Plan-C collecting dust in your vault, you can bring that out for this NF as well; 2) If you are soloing, the main life threatening enemies are melee rushers and explosive shanks. Because you will be using Arc Special for DPS, I recommend carrying an Arc MG for the purpose of cleaning up these rushing threats, preferably one with big mag size (e.g.: MG from Crota). With Fang and P&T giving your 3rd eye and turning up your headphone to catch the unique sound cue from the invisible rushers, you can quickly switch to MG and take these threat out before they can get closer to you; 3) when playing as Titan, Striker is probably a better choice than Defender. We found out the hard way that many melee rushers can even lunge through a blinding bubble and get you, and the explosive shanks sometimes don't care about being blinded and explode anyway . If the bubble can't give you protection, it becomes an obstacle because you can't shoot through it. In that case you might as well use Striker for Arc damage, and Flashbang and Fist of Havoc are great abilities to have to clear out rushing adds.

That's interesting. We should do a speed run and toss our name in the hat for fastest NF run. That would be cool if those types of records are kept somewhere by Bungie. It could add some fun to the game. Reminds me of the old 'GoldenEye' days, where people raced to beat certain times. Think we could get it under 5 minutes?

5 would be straight bookin' it. I'm down to try it though for sure. Seems like a fun challenge. 5 minutes is the Xbox1 default record length on it's DVR. Got to go in five!!!! ...nice thing about it, if you mess up, it's only a few minutes to get back to where you died. I'm down for it though. One key would be those first enemies you encounter after running into the tunnells, where you jump onto the tower. The wizard, two knights, and a few zombies. Do you shoot them? or just try to run by them? intro stage - run past shriekers Tower ecounter - run or shoot? ? Open area below - run past, easy First Boss encounter - [shoot] {teleport up] Second Boss encounter - [shoot quickly] Tank Room - hardest/trickiest part Hallway ecounters = 1 to 2 ...easy Final Boss room - should be easy if you put damage on him.

I'd say it's worth a try to just run past the enemies in that first section, and if we fail a couple times, then I guess we'll try shooting them instead. No big deal.

Got my 7th Plan C from this week's Nightfall so I'll keep this one. Never know, fusion rifles might be buffed to their former selves so I can counter blink shotgunners in PvP. Ugh, who am I kidding? This will be sold by Xur tomorrow.
Got the Purifier Robes from the large chest in PoE, and an Elder Cipher Bounty finally later on. Queenbreakers Bow might be fun to mess around with in PvP.

Fusions are a bit underrated though if you ask me. They still pack a punch! Plan C is still a great gun to use. As for the speed run, let somebody carry a 4th horseman, you can almost kill the boss in the Hallway encounters with it.Xbox, Dooooh. Found verdict might get close though

You can kill him before the final room. Even if you do so, he'll appear all of the subsequent places anyway. I did it twice this week. I was using an Arc Spear, others were also using Arc snipers.
