The reddi thread is giving aim assist high weight when ranking SRs, arguably the best base stat of this weapon class.
To take advantage of SRs that have high aim assists, you may want to try out a technique often referred as "drag sniping" in Halo circles: quickly swipe your reticle across head while pressing trigger to land headshots. The higher the aim assist is, the easier to land headshots.
You can then bring SoV (highest AA) and Praedyth's Revenge (lowest AA) into Patrol for comparison, the difference is pretty big.
If you like to 2-body-shot kill, then IMHO revenge is the SR to use despite its low tier in that thread. It is so stable that you can fire 2 shots as fast as possible (at the RoF cap) and land them at the same spot. Don't even bother going for dragging snipe headshot due to its low AA
Stats wise Low Grade is a well around SR for non-Trial Crucible. It's biggest weakness for trials is can't one shot through revive.
Benevolence is the only reforgeable weapon that can one shot through revive, it also has solid stats, making it the top choice for Trials.
In the end it really boils down to personal taste I guess.

I'll have to go revisit all three in the Crucible.
The problem is lag I think. It screws with your tests. I 'think'..just an opinion, sniper rifles feel most prone to lag issues, as one is shooting a tiny area with a small hit box. Sometimes my head shots connect, other times I am scratching my head going "WTF". Compare that to Shotguns. It feels like you have more lag wiggle room when playing. Even if you are off 100 to 200 ms, the shotguns have huge damage spill over when killing in range, even if you are slightly behind someone. The gun will still kill, and you don't notice the lag as much.

That's why I am suggesting Patrol as the activity for finding out which SR you like the most, you don't have to worry about the lag and can focus on finding the one that fits you the best.

Lag is always a big factor when comparing guns. I hated it in COD for those games where we didn't have the weapon stats immediately.
Friends said, just try each AR for a game and see which you did best with. That is extremely short sighted in an online multiplier game, as connection is way more of a factor than 0.05 seconds of TTK differences or small recoil differences will ever be. That doesn't mean it is irrelevant though, as every millisecond can give you a kill in the perfect scenario. But testing different guns against each other in game can be very tricky because of this.

Feels like I'm being punished for not getting the easy nightfall's done last week. heh Oh well... This week's NF is easy if grouped up, just not quite as easy as last weeks. Average times this week were like 12 to 14 minutes. Last week's NF, I saw some times hit as low as 7 minutes. It's that gosh darn golly gee whiz minotaur at the end, that makes the solo attempts hard (if you choose to hit the boss from the ledges). Just guessing here, but it takes around 8 to 9 365d IB shots to bring him down solo. With that time length, you then end up needing to swap positions, and run away. Just not fun. With three people, It's basically 2 to 3 shots each...he's killed. You can do it before he even gets to you. Mal and one of the Heb's showed me a cheese spot from below, they said it works well. I have never tried it. I've always stayed up top when going solo. Fire six shots at the boss...turn around...shoot charging minotaur. Repeat. Do this for what seems like an hour.

I like to shotgun/melee/grenade the minotaur, but then I don't have a sniper for the boss. ;3

I like to shotgun/melee/grenade the minotaur, but then I don't have a sniper for the boss. ;3 When solo...I just drop six IB's onto the minotaur, toss a grenade that stuns him briefly...then run around him. Snipe and use Primary again till he dies. Then run down and start shooting the boss. Use IB shots if available, and rockets too. Heavy ammo glitch the area before for refills. Typically you can only get 5 to 7 shots off before you have to turn around to redo the whole process again. Very time consuming and taxing. Ten cycles? Can't remember. If you mess up, you die, then you wasted time.

Void Felwenter and melee gonching the minotaur is my fav way to kill him, but risky if you miss your timing and get bitch slapped. Probably not smart solo, but fun with at least a partner in case you go down, and of course fireborn. Heavy glitching is a good idea, though usually the groups I'm with don't bother with it and kill all the goblins before I can empty my primary so it just doesn't happen. (Generally when it comes to minotaurs I just love my void Felwenter. It melts their shields so nicely. And they can be a bit derp in close quarters. Plus a single one isn't much of a threat as long as you can get close and crouch. With multiples of course a second will shoot you so you can't stick around but it's still fun and effective to shotgun rush them.)
I think if I get a chance at the NF I might just take mino duty and let the other guardian(s) focus on the Nexus. Only real issue might be ammo, but then if I don't have to save primary and heavy for the Nexus it's not such a problem.
Then again last few times I played the strike were weeklies and the groups just dropped down and we hid behind pillars and shot things. That's probably even doable... if risky. Not much need for jumping down there, just hiding behind cover and taking out adds quickly.
