Varik finally has a decent weapon to offer: Shadow of Veils Sniper Rifle, one of the SRs in the game with highest impact. It also has one of the best Aim Assist. Recoil and stability wise it seems to be better than any other high impact SRs, and can rival Low Humility. Expect it to be great at headshots and decent at 2-body-shots. For mroe details, check out the comparison vs. the other top/popular SRsThe problem with this weapon is 1) it is not reforgeable; 2) the rightmost talent is the only one that can have random roll, and is completely useless in PvP (today's version does bonus damage against shanks, only marginally useful in non-solar-burn NF strikes where shielded shanks are a pain in the ass, like Omnigul); 3) the leftmost talent is mediocre: the weapon can only have replenish, cast super -> refill mag, OKish but not great 4) the middle column is also mediocre, the weapon always have fast reload vs. low recoil vs. large mag. Nonetheless, this one does have the Shortgaze scope (lowest zoom at 4.5x, +15-20 Aim Assist), arguably the best option. Since I have several weapon cores collecting dust in my vault, I'll probably pick up this weapon.

Armor wise, he finally offers something that I have been waiting for, Warlock Dis Gauntlet. I'll definitely pick that up.
Hunter's Int Gauntlet has worse roll than the one offered a few weeks ago, while Titan's Gauntlet has a Dis/Str split. I'll skip these.

Regarding the weekly content:
1) Machine Wrath returns as PoE-32 (was PoE-34 last week). The boss is fun and challenging, would love to do it again;
2) Cult of The Worm as PoE-34: probably the least painful major boss to deal with, slowing down everybody once in a while is inconvenient, but as long as the fire team are staying together with good cover it is not a big deal;
3) Burn-less Nexus is going to be painful if solo. Brawler is the only helping modifier and it is completely useless against the boss;

So long as you don't jump, the enemies also don't get damage bonuses against you. You don't need to worry about 1hk melee, or getting lit up by some random enemy. You can still run past a bunch of stuff. You get three people and it's not much more difficult than a Roc strike.
BTW, today there are Vanguard bounties for Weekly/NF completion, 10 Fallen Majors, and Strike without dying. With the Eris bounty, that's a huge amount of free XP.

Yeah, 2-3 player co-op should be a walk in the park. I am mostly worried about solo. Since I still have trouble jumping to the cheese spot, I solo at the top platform and have to deal with the "lovely" minotaur that keeps spawning behind me. With no help from any burns, Nexus is going to take a lot of beating, which means that I have to 1-on-1 the minotaur many times. I am pondering the best way to dispatch him, what do you guys think about Corrective Measure? Void burn bullet hose with large mags and bonus heavy ammo pickups sounds like a good option to me, wondering whether this is the time to ascend it to 365 damage goodness.

Why don't we just do three NF runs tonight Witty? This NF should only take 10 to 12 min with three people.

Void burn bullet hose with large mags and bonus heave ammo pickups sounds like a good option to me, wondering whether this is the time to ascend it to 365 damage goodness. Yes, Corrective Measure is probably the best bet. He might teleport through rockets, and I assume you'll want to use Icebreaker in your exotic slot to make the most of your opportunities to shoot the Nexus. Do the heavy ammo glitch on the wave of Goblins in the hallway. You can also use grenades to slow him down, and don't forget Brawler is on. If you're using a Titan, you may want to use Helm of Saint 14 + Armor of Light as your backup plan.

If you're using a Titan, you may want to use Helm of Saint 14 + Armor of Light as your backup plan. Great, that's what I am thinking as well. My solo plan is the following: 1) Do the heavy ammo glitch right before Nexus, on the large group of minions right out of the cave. That will give me lots of purple packs on the ground; 2) Sniper Rifles dominate the special slot. I'll use Ice Breaker to generate special ammo / glitch heavy ammo, a void SR on the minotaurs around Nexus spawn, and probably Black Hammer the crap out of Nexus; 3) For the minotaur in the cave: besides Corrective Measure I'll also try to take advantage of Brawler. Titan -> Blind + Melee, Hunter -> invisibility + Backstab (time to try out Khepri's Sting, 4x damage + DoT poisoning effect, and I can still use Escape Artist), Warlock -> Double Flaming melee w/Claw;

Why the Corrective Measure?
The only bonus damage it gives is to Oracles, if I am remembering correctly.

Why the Corrective Measure? The only bonus damage it gives is to Oracles, if I am remembering correctly. It is a void MG with Field Scout (mag size = 100) and Surplus (expect to find more ammo), so you'll have tons of ammo against the rushing minotaurs, especially w/ heavy ammo glitch. IMHO it is probably the best void legendary in the game for PvE, so you can free your special slot for Ice Breaker. It is 5th on my list of weapon Ascending, behind VoC / Fatebringer / Black Hammer / Found Verdict. On a related note: after this weapon, I'll probably pause ascending and start hoarding EL until I have 12+ (current count = 6). There is a chance that TTK will continue to support armor ascension to max light. If that's the case, having 12 can get me to max light on all 3 characters right off the gate of TTK release with freedom to choose any exotic I want (too good to be true so Bungie probably won't allow that).

Oh ok. It's recoil is just terrible though...at least compared to the slower rate of fire LMG's. That's mostly why i was wondering. Like compared to, for example the 'Swarm'. It's a void, has field scout, and doesn't have the level of kick the CM has.

It's a void, has field scout, and doesn't have the level of kick the CM has. For PvP it is terrible. For PvE it should be fairly good because the weapon also has the Persistence perk (more accurate the longer it is fired). It is one of the viable weapons for removing Crota's shield. The large mag and increased accuracy can maintain sustained damage on Crota, making it a viable alternative to RLs.

Exactly. Surplus+Field Scout, plus the Oracle bonus.
You might want to use Celestial Nighthawk instead on your Hunter. Since this is more of a backup plan, you're probably not going to be able to crouch and go invisible without getting lit up, and you're relying on being able to melee it to death without a shield.

Don't have the Nighthawk helm yet, so I might as well go with Bladedancer. If I have the super, I will have another option to sneak past the minotaur.

Did 3 NFs, Brawler offers some interesting combo plays that we don't usually do in the past: 1) Titan: the classic blind bubble + melee works great; 2) Hunter: this is the moment where Khepri's String exotic gauntlet can shine. It does 4x damage when melee from behind while invisible, plus a hidden DoT poison effect. Combined with Bladedancer's "Escape Artist", you can double melee in quick succession for 8 x Blink Strike x Brawler multiplier; 3) Warlock: Claw can give you two charged Scorch melees, Viking Funeral let scorch to do DoT, and Flaming Shield give you extra protection so you can melee more; On the weapon front: this is my first time of purchasing a weapon from Variks, and I just noticed that it has 365 damage right off the bat. So if the weapon has solid base stats like "Shadow of Veils", it is still worth buying despite un-reforgeable, some mediocre talents, and "wasting' the rightmost column. By purchasing this SR, you can (almost) consider delaying Ascending your Black Hammer and hold your EL for now ( Shadow of Veils vs. Black Hammer)

I had four weapon cores, so what was I going to do with them? I am going to test it out soon vs the Black Hammer. I did do a very quick test this morning, "Her Benevolence" vs Varik's "Shadow of Veils" They appear to have identical stats, in terms of RoF and Impact. As well as both are Arc snipers. When I did a quick test on one of those sword bearers (while doing a bounty, kill 3 sword bearers)....the Her Benevolence did 1,260 damage on it, body shot. The Shadow of Veils did 1,430. +13.6% more damage. Which is explained by the 365 vs 331. So it would appear, the two gun's core stats (RoF & Impact) are the same. So the difference? The HB has a better roll & perks, while the Shadow is already upgraded 365, giving a damage boost. For PvE....the SoV is probably a clear winner, as it's second tier gives a tons of options. Speed reload, Lower recoil, or a Larger Mag. Options.

They list these as Tier one. I have the first three, have used two of them in the Crucible. I didn't feel like either were that great (Humility and Benevolence) Blah. Low Grade Humility - HoW Crucible drop Her Benevolence - Queen Shadow of Veils - Variks LDR - TDB Vendor Longbow Synthesis - TDB Vendor
