1st I don't know if the "buckshot" spread can be made smaller by using the laser sight to "increase damage" or not. I would figure the hipfire crosshair would be smaller, but it wouldn't have any impact on the spread of the buckshot.
2nd I assume that long barrel does hardly anything for Shotguns / SMG's.
3rd Does rapid fire lower damage per bullet or have any negative effects (other than more recoil) across guns.

Laser decreases hipfire spread. So obviously the pellets on a shotgun become tighter.
From my experience with shotguns & long barrel, the benefit is small. But honestly, who isn't running long barrel on shotguns.
From my experience rapid fire does no decrease bullet/pellet damage/range. And i doubt it increases recoil values.
The dredge becomes a monster with rapid fire.

honestly depends on the gun. Dredge is good because i honestly feel like the recoil is better with RF simply because the burst is so fucking fast. I've seen a very small boost to overall RoF on the pump action, though.

Rapid Fire is garbage on most weapons, but it's probably an excellent choice for the few weapons that see a significant boost.
