I wouldn't quite call Hijacked "nuketown without any redeeming qualities". Hijacked wasn't a 2 lane map like nuketown was (nuketown forced you to go into 1 of 2 lanes in the middle, while hijacked had 4 unique lanes to get from one side to the other: The basement, the long open straight path, the side of the pool, and the little hallway with seats) and there were more areas that allowed you to avoid killstreaks than nuketown.

Favela is in Ghosts? If I knew that I completely forgot it. Same for Highrise/Skyrise. To make matters worse I own the AW season pass. Hmm. Do I own the the Ghosts season pass? I'm not even sure but I vaguely remember a DLC map I played like once. With like... a nuke or a bomb in the middle on a bridge or something? Crap. Sunk costs. Oh well. It's sad when they waste MW2 maps on bad games though.
I think Hijacked is a better map than Nuketown. I played a little bit of Chaos Moshpit earlier and... just... no thanks. Terrible for respawn game modes. I can always post up by the car in the middle with a headglitch weapon and rack up streaks but that level is just played out and way too 'headless chicken'. Good FFA map maybe. They don't let us play FFA on it in matchmaking though so...
There just aren't many 3arch maps I have much nostalgia for, unlike IW maps. Could be timing, i.e. MW/MW2 were older games so they hold a little more of a special place in my cold, dead heart. Could be the general generic-ness of 3arch maps in general and that they are all serviceable, fun maps but none really stand out as being super awesome.
On the other hand I'd love some old IW maps, like Crash, Vacant, Terminal, Favela... mmm yes. Gimme gimme.

On the topic of remakes: I would like to see a remake where water could completely change how a map plays but keep it balanced. Say you take Quarry and make it a rain map where all the low ground where the B flag is flooded. You could swim to take the flag.
For nostalgia, Backlot, Crossfire and Crash come to mind.
I loved wasteland. Favorite snipe map. Overgrown was another good one.
With the jumping and wall running stuff those maps probably would need a little re-working. Basically all old maps become more difficult to re-work for this game due to the new movement mechanics. You can't just slap an old map into a new DLC like you could in MW2...
Oh if we're going DLC remakes it's Kowloon all the way.
Hijacked wasn't the worst BO2 map. It worked decently with its 4 different routes in terms of getting from 1 side of the map to the other. Plus they fixed it for BO3 so that the engine room Hardpoint isn't ridiculous.
