ello all !
First off, Im playing on xbox one and just have the 29.99 version of battlefield 4..longtime player of cod series and socom back in the day..tag was LT back then on the ps system
I have played 2 dozen or so games with a buddy of mine...also searched and found on here older posts with tips etc..and found them very useful..thx!
Played as a medic on the conquest cqc map and defib'ed my team over and over to keep them fighting and ranked up..alittle
Have jumped into others heli's, tanks, boats etc..gunning down peeps ,capturing and defending locations etc..
1) Any way to get better guns quicker...seems like it takes so long?
2) Also..is there a tutorial on the heli's and jets? Or possibly a different controller that makes it easier for xbox one?
I have spent an hour or so trying to figureout the controls for each of the heli's (which im sure it takes allot longer to figureout)..just jumped in jet for the first time ...OH BOY !
Any tips, info and or suggestions would be greatly appreciated ..thank you!
peaceout

Is that firing range map also a thing on xbone? that's a great start for learning to fly since it also has every vehicle
I used a standard xbox 360 controller on pc when flying jets using standards settings (but use a different setting if you desire) so that's fine. Just takes time to get a feeling for flying and alot of crashes, no worries
unlocking stuff is a grind, but most guns perform rather similiar so you're not losing out that much.
oh, and shotguns rock in this game. like 20 metres one shots. godlike stuff
lastly, if you need weapon stats check symthic.com

The first thing you got to do is post the same thread in both Hey, Den, and Hey, Guy. Because that way the most people will see it, and your thread is very important. So, well done, you got that down.
For helis definitely practice on the training ground, and start with the little bird variant as it handles much better. In my opinion the most sensible controls are going to be yaw and left stick, pitch and roll on right stick. Throttle on left stick y-axis or on the triggers per your preference. If any of that feels weird well then go ahead and do whatever it is your brain likes. Experiment with pitching and yawing in the same direction, and in the opposite direction. Learn how to circle-strafe around a target. Try following roads, try flying between random trees. Try to fly under the bridge, start somewhat slow, and get a feel for how to stay low without scraping the ground or ending up in the water, then go faster, then start going as fast as you can and dive through it from higher altitude and awkward angles.
Once you feel good in the little guy then you can take a crack at flying the attack heli. It takes a while to get a feel for how the I-beam reticle works.
Until you have decent flight skills it's almost pointless to try to fly one in game, you'll have to grind out some important unlocks by getting a few kills, which is tough when you can't stay alive due to lack of countermeasures and don't have the flight skills to put shots anywhere near a target.
For infantry stuff keep in mind this isn't COD hitscan 3-lane twitch-fest. Don't push up past all your teammates and expect to live. Lead your targets a bit if they're running, and fire in short controlled burst unless they're right up in your face. If you're doing CQB remember that hipfire is much better in this game than COD. I forget how much of a grind it is to get decent weapons or even what the good weapons are in BF4 as I've been doing pretty much all Hardline for my BF fix so I can't help you there, but there are plenty of ways to get points without having a high KD as you have discovered with the medic revives. No shame in bringing up the rear on a control-point push and collecting some capture points in relative safety.

Thanks peeps!
I have done the practice/firing range thing..each time I get online thats the first place I start to try and get more comfortable with the controls..
Is there a way to setup classes without going into a battle first and then having to modify classes before deploying?
Also can you just talk to the peeps in your squad or is there a way to ask for help from others if you are the only peep capturing a point and need backup
There is just so much to setup before jumping into battle..thx for any help

I think voip is limited to squads only. huge design flaw but it is how it is
On pc you can definitely setup custom classes, but I have no clue how to actually use them and whether that system is even on consoles, I just changed stuff on the fly all the time As for what are the best guns, just remember that nearly every gun just sits on a different spot in the accuracy vs rate of fire spectrum

You should be able to change classes through the Battlelog website. In Hardline you can alter classes from the main multiplayer menu. I don't remember BF4 one way or the other on that point.

I replied to your other thread before seeing this one. Here's what I said: I play a lot of BF4 on XB1, and it's a blast. I love how the devs still care about this game and release new dlc for free all the time. Anyway, regarding your first question, it just takes time to level up. If you're patient, the weapon progression is quite pleasant, actually. By the time you've unlocked a few attachments for one weapon, another has been unlocked. On your second question, I do a lot of jet and heli flying so I'll try to break it down really quick. Oh, and you dont need a special controller - it just takes time to learn the scheme (I use veteran for everything because I played a lot of BF3). For jets, the trick is to accelerate when flying towards the sky, and decelerate when flying towards the ground. But more than that, you have to keep the ideal speed around 300 which is present in your HUD. If you get an enemy jet on your tail you can only win if you get behind them, so you'll have to either beat them with loop-de-loops or beat them with better speed control and evasive maneuvers, ideally a mix of both. I can tell you that when I log in, I pretty much never lose a dogfight because I'm such a jet nerd, but that also tells you about how few people actually take the time to research about how the jet works. By the way, one easy trick if the enemy is behind you is to let them chase you back to your base, switch to third person, press up on the d-pad to look behind you and tag them for your anti-air AI to take them out - works great if you have the attack jet and a stealth jet is attacking you. For helis, it's a little more complicated. Speed control matters less, it's more a battle of putting yourself in the safest situations. As soon as you get high up above the battlefield, stingers, enemy helis, anti-air, will all try to take you down. So stay close to the ground, put obstructions between you and the enemy, and focus on targets that are actively attacking you. Also be weary of staying still around ground troops - many (including myself ) are pretty handy with the RPG and can take you out in split seconds. When you're first starting off the 20mm cannons are good, but you'll learn that the miniguns are ultimately a much better option for taking out enemy helis (and if your accuracy is good, enemy personnel as well). Hope some of that helped. There's a ton more to it, that you'll pretty much learn with experience. Oh- and get BF4 premium! It goes on sale all the time for dirt cheap and is worth it. My GT is y260 if you ever wanna play a few rounds.

Appreciate the info very much bud..my tag is Misl3ad

BF4 premium as a standalone DLC goes on sale sometimes, so I guess you could look out for that. But even $24 isn't bad if you have to rebuy the game because premium originally was $49. But if I were you, I would just play the game and have fun with it and if an opportunity to get premium comes up - go for it. I played for about 1 year without premium on xbox 360, and when I moved to xbone i bought the bf4+premium for like $30, and I thought it was an absolute steal...
Anyway about sniping, its definitely not like Call of Duty, or other games. But that makes it a lot more fun in my opinion. I like to sit moderately far back and take my time. I zero in my shots, watch out for counter-sniping, and just annoy the hell out of the enemy team. I think the M98B is best for that playstyle. Most say the SRR-61 is the overall best sniper, and I do like it, but I guess it depends on what feels like the right one for you.

Is conquest really the only one that has the large scale wars with all vehicles and aircraft??
Im digging the m98b..sniped some guy on the run!
One of my buds is trying hard to learn the sticks on the helis..I will leave that up to him, altho it seems the peeps with the most points are the ones in the aircrafts?
Silencers worthy of using? I have tried it on the ak and it seemed like there was no difference, but that was pretty much cqc..any tips on better assault and engineer weapons, setup tips?
Thx man!

Conquest is all I play, its the only 64 player big games. You can play other gametypes and you'll get vehicles and aircraft, but in my opinion conquest is best. Yeah, I think people who master the aircrafts have the potential to get the highest scores, but that's not always the case. If I run a very supportive engineer class and repair vehicles and capture objectives, I can do much better on the scoreboard than purely slayer vehicle guys. I don't use silencers much. I think maps are just so big and players so spread out that silencers arent as useful. One more thing - The MX4, that's by far my favorite SMG. It's ironic that its an early unlock and its so good. You gotta try it out

Familiarize yourself with the spotting button. Use it. Play to your class; there many more ways to affect the outcome of matches than kills. Remember to use your boosts from battlepacks and keep an eye out for 2XP events. Conquest is by far the best mode for leveling up.

all silencers do is lower the muzzle velocity, so silencers are hard to justify on snipers. try it, long range shots are gonna be hard as fuck with how much you're gonna lead and adjust for drop
pretty good on PDWS/smgs though

Ya, I do my job depending on class chosen and always use the spotting button for every class ! Peeps, planes, trains and/or tanks! I have received afew spotting ribbons..now if others could use it instead of trying to get the kill instead of alerting others on the peep that is creeping up on you!!

Questions guys... Every now and then I have something popup in middle or upper part of my screen saying "C4" and something else I cant remember...what is this, is it a warning that C4 is close by ?
Also, is it possible to get C4 on other classes other than the recon setup?

I just started playing BF again yesterday -- forgot how much fun blowing up enemy vehicles can be! Not really sure on the words popping up, it's been too long so I'll have to pay attention to that next time I'm on.
You can get C4 on the support class also, which might be better depending on what you're doing since they can drop an ammo box and refill their own C4 supplies. I used to do a decent amount booby trapping the main exits from the enemy bases in conquest over and over with my infinite C4. You get a good amount of kills and you're helping to shut down enemy armor so that's pretty useful, and obviously explosions are always fun.
Add HebbNH and THebb22 (my brother) if you need other people to play with. Also, Symthic is a great resource for BF weapon stats and discussion. The BF boards here are pretty dead by comparison.
