Edge Slide Analysis Thread (Upon Specialists)

This movement trick called "Edge Slide" is where you slide off an edge and boost upwards and you maintain the pace of the slide all the way through your airtime, which is really useful for using Gravity Spikes. There seems to be an issue with this mechanic; you can Gravity Spike while in this movement trick, and you just drop down and do the Gravity Spike, without that jump in the air. This is extremely useful on maps like Breach, where you can Edge Slide off any higher up area and it would catch them out of nowhere.

Pretty useful for now, I stumbled upon it accidentally in the late December month, I just was like "woah I just went really fast there" and dismissed it. Then I started seeing it all over so I thought I could bring up my Gravity Spike analysis. There seems to be a discrepancy within the slamming of his spikes though, sometimes it's 100-350 (?) MS (from just spiking with no jump) and other times it's the standard jump in the air and adds a couple hundred MS (pretty sure these timings are right). Randomly I can hit the shortened animation at a certain point in a slide, it'll do a very quick smash.

This! This is what that guy did on Combine that had me scratching my head. I'll have to learn how to do this.
