As many of you know, the suppressor has huge penalties for most weapons making it a less than appealing attachment choice. But, some weapons are suppressor "sleepers" and actually perform pretty well.
I compiled a list of the top 3 suppressed guns in the video below:
If you don't have time to watch, the guns were
3) Haymaker 12
2) KN-44
1) SVG-100
Do you have any special suppressed gun setups?

Suppressors are universally good on snipers since they've no damage penalty.

You didn't even mention the real reason the KN-44 is good with a suppressor.

You didn't even mention the real reason the KN-44 is good with a suppressor. I assume you're talking about the .7 multiplier specifically for the KN-44? Yeah, I totally missed that. Makes the 3sk happen a bit more often than a 0.35x would. In all fairness though I think the KN-44's flat 4sk/high rof make it a good suppressed weapon as well.

Oh okay. In that regard, the MX Garand is also very good suppressed as it has the same 0.7x penalty.

Blows my mind that people are able to use a suppressor on guns. Only ones Ive tried are HVK, Kuda, KN, & VMP and they all turned into pea shooters when the attachment is slapped on

I roll a silenced KN on my stealth class. Of course it's also nearly maxed out for stealth. If I remember correctly blind eye, ghost, cold blooded, blast suppressor, dead silence. I don't run that class often except on Redwood, so I don't have to worry so much about UAVs I can't really shoot down. But I'll switch to it anytime I need protection from killstreaks or to shoot down a wraith, too. I'd love to cram hardwired in there as well, but then I'd have to drop the silencer and launcher which would cut 1/2 of the utility out of it. Or mebbe dropping blast suppressor would be a decent trade for it. The thrust sound gives away so many of my enemies that I rather think it a good idea to keep blast suppressor, though.
I think the key is you have to be flanking and attacking unaware opponents much more. If you're mostly getting into head on encounters where they see you at the same time then you're definitely at a disadvantage with a silenced weapon and getting little benefit from it. With groups the key is to pull a Sergeant York turkey shoot. (I doubt any of you get that reference without Googling it.) Basically, just shoot the guy in the rear first so his buddies don't see him go down. They might not even notice, and even if they do it usually takes them longer and gives them less of an idea where you are shooting from. If you do meet an enemy head on don't be afraid to retreat. Hell if you bait him you can setup an effective ambush of your choosing and if not at least he'll waste time sitting and waiting for you to rush him. That's time he's not killing you, and probably not killing your teammates unless they rush him.
Mostly though I've had similar experiences. I definitely feel it when I put a silencer on a weapon and so far I've only had three weapons turn out okay with it. Snipers, KN, and I did okay with the Vesper. Note: Vesper was used solely in CQB where range wasn't as much a penalty. I still swapped it out once I unlocked stock, but I used it silenced for a bit and it was okay for CQB. I tend to avoid long range fights with it anyway.

I've been a suppressed smg guy in every previous cod, but the suppressor really sucks the joy out of most of the guns in bo3 for me. Maybe it's mostly in my head.

It definitely affects it. I just used it on Vesper because I already avoid anything not CQB with it due to the recoil. And that's probably why it was kinda okay. With the others I'll fight at a bit more range since I don't have as hard a time controlling them. Of course if I played with the Vesper more, maybe it wouldn't be as much of an issue. *shrug*

Just never put a suppressor on the ICR-1. It literally sounds and functions as a Nerf gun.
