It's basically Overwatch for the Onlywatch. Not sure if anyone else is trying the Beta, but I got the email today along with 1 extra beta key up for grabs. There's a Torbjörn too. And Reinhardt... And... Paladins; Yea/Nay? Beavenge is also Beavenge on Paladins

A bit like Heroes of the Storm mashed with a much less lethal TF2/Overwatch. You basically pick a hero at the start of the match and level up that hero during the course of the match, no switching on the fly. Points go into a deck of 5 cards, which you can choose to upgrade (think talent points). You can customize a basic deck and a deck specific to the hero you chose. The whole card/deck system seems like it would be a nightmare to balance, but meh, it's a beta. I mean Beta Beta. Not Blizzard's "demo before launch." Paladins requires some optimizing (feels a wee bit choppy), and hopefully some graphics upgrades or something.
Personal opinion is that the applying of talent points during the game slows things down, exceptionally so for a shooter, and can put you at a disadvantage if you forget to apply them (looking at you, all of you 6 twitch streamers).
So far favorite hero is Groot Grover, a tree with an axe, a grappling vine, and an aura that can switch between healing and an AOE attack.
but it's free, and I don't have Overwatch Beta.

Still Onlywatch, BUT, the more play, the more fun. Unless there is a boss Skye/Androxus on the other team. Then we drink more bier.
The latest patch did introduce an auto-level mechanism, though it's not clear how it works aside from prioritizing legendary cards.
Beginning advice would be to run with Pip or Torbjorn, not Groot. And play objective if you want gold/win/fame/glory.
It is quite a bit o' fun. Again, beta keys galore. Ask and receive.

Played it for a while. I kind of enjoy it... almost more than Overwatch. The roles are a more blended together and customizable in Paladins compared to most of Overwatch's cast being rather specialized, so any one character can be self-sufficient.
As expected, in a game where you only get to have one of each character on a team (AND you're stuck with them for the whole match), everyone locks in their favorites instantly. Lots of folks fighting over a few like Cassie. In my case however, I've found Ying to be really solid, and she's rarely picked by others. Though she is primarily a healer, she can fight at the same time and is no slouch in that regard.
Still, interest waned after about two weeks of playing. The clusterfuck game mode that crams everybody on to a single point of the map is not fun for me.
