Hi bros,
I have been using the gunrunner perk on almost every weapon, not because I actually like to shoot while sprinting, but because I want to shoot as fast as possible out of sprint.
Now if memory serves me right, BO3 had a similar perk, and still it was a bad choice, because there was still a "sprint out" time, if you were not shooting already in sprint. and the equivalent of lightweight pro (MW2)/steady aim pro (BO2) was still a better choice.
Has anybody have any idea on the sprint out times in this game, and does gunrunner actually reduce it? I really want to use that sweet tactikill with my fast loader perk.
tldr; does gunrunner reduce the time you start shooting after sprinting? A clear answer would be great, but experiences are very welcome as well!

I just messed around with it in Private Match, which by the way is a great way to answer some of those burning questions. And if you need something to shoot at, including some Titans, just select Bounty Hunt mode. It's like a poor man's Frontier Defense.
Anyway, seems like you get your shots out instantly with gunrunner. Or same speed you get them if you start shooting at normal run speed at least. It's a very clear difference, you can feel the sprint-out when you shoot from sprint without it. But, it feels like the sprint-out starts anytime you jump or leave the ground, or slide, or whatever, and you can always fire from any of those other positions without delay after you've left sprint. So if you're doing a lot of bouncing and sliding then gunrunner isn't going to do much for you. If you're a ground potato though it does help, it does actually work unlike what's in BO3 apparently.
You say you don't want to actually shoot from sprint, and I would disagree with that. Any of the SMGs is great from the hip, no reason not to do it. The R201C is pretty good from the hip too though it makes a little more sense to transition to ADS there.
I have a really hard time running anything but Tactikill and Speed Reloader on any of my classes.

Yeah shooting while sprinting is really cool but it is kind of hard to aim, because it doesn't happen to often (most of the time probably because of your reasoning above, I come out of a jump or something). I get surprised by it and it doesn't really benefit my accuracy. I might have to rephrase though, I DO want to shoot while sprinting, but it is not the reason I pick the perk over tactikill. The reason I pick it over tactikill is for the sprint out time. Thank you for testing! Should probably have done that myself. Sadly, I can't do any tests at work but I can browse reddit/this place . I guess it is no tactikill for me then, or maybe only on the volt (doesn't really need exmag/fastmag). What tactical are you using? I use phase dash now, and it is actually not THAT important to have a fast recharge for, compared to for example stim.

I've always been a bit hesitant to use this perk. I never really do much sprinting. When I am, it's only to pick up speed to start wall running.
If this perk was changed (or clarified) to improve all time to shoot (slide/jump/etc, except ADS), then it might be a more competitive choice over TactiKill and Reload/ExtMags.

Wall running is still sprinting though, right? I think every time "your legs move at the fastest speed", you are sprinting. I even heard it influences your slide accuracy in some way on twitch, but I can not find a source for that. I agree though, tactikill and ex/fast mags are awesome. Volt is fine without ex/fast mags though

I'm pretty sure wall-running does not count as sprinting. Sprinting is on the ground and that's it. If it has any stealth effects I can't say I really noticed.
I've been using Phase Shift myself and if anything I like Tactikill even more for it. It charges decently fast, but having a fresh Phase Shift ready to go pretty much anytime I get a kill is great, I've just exposed my position, and I need to reload, so it's an absolutely fantastic time to hit that button and get set for my next engagement.
I still like Stim but with the long cooldown I'm just never sure when it's available. And it's kind of a crutch as far as parkour goes. I'm finding that I'm getting better with my wall-running and slide-hops by running Phase Shift and focusing on finding routes.

Yeah phase shift has taken the position of fast reload for me as well. One simply does not need that if you can just reload in another dimension. Exmags on guns which need it is still needed though (R201).
I still sprint way more than I should I guess, but with that knowledge, I am going to slowly let go of that attachment and go for exmags + tactikill.

Did not know that you guys are talking about Phase Shift here . Just declared it OP in 2 other threads. The fast cool down -> always on, and the universal applicability -> no bad time to use it, have made this option very addictive to me. Hard for me to pick something else once I get the take of this koolaid... If it get nerfed it would be sad. But I guess that it is probably also no fun if everybody is running with it. Right now that honor goes to Cloak or Ping Blade...
