The Memory of Gheleon is apparently bugged; it says it's INT/DISC but will actually give you INT/STR.
Strikes look easy this week. Sunbreakers will go HAM in the weekly playlist.

Most important news this week:
Activision's earnings call is on thursday... if Destiny 2 is gonna happen, we'll find out at this time.
For those who don't remember, literally seconds after the call was done, TW@Bungo dropped a $hit tonne of new info after being silent for months on end

They are under tremendous pressure to deliver the game this Fall. I think it's coming even if half-finished, just like Destiny 1.

Sidearms don't seem to change...I'm alright with this. And maybe now I'll dig those Parthian Shots (and maybe even Lyudmila-D's) and any high impact autos I have out of my vault.

So all special weapons got nerfed again. I like how they used the graphs on stream to show high shotgun usage to justify the special ammo changes when the maps and movement system promote shotguns be default. Not sure where the Blade nerf came from since it is the one of the easiest Supers to shut down. Will try and get the PvP emblem quest for Bladedancer before the balance update. The special ammo change seems to mean that ammo bonuses on armour are pretty insignificant as you won't be stocking up on special ammo unless you're on an epic killstreak. And there was me thinking they'd lower the TTK on primaries. Silly me.

When I saw the stream I decided to go high impact auto rifles and Saladin's Vigil as my secondary but the special ammo thing might have killed that unless I hot swap my primary weapon a fair amount I guess. Weapons I will be trying out post-patch: Genesis Chain, The Messenger, The Summoner, and Shadow Price. Pity I don't have my Vanquisher VIII, Spare Change, Parthian Shot, or Lyudmila-D any longer. :/

Of course, this is only relevant should there actually be any more content for the game.

And there was me thinking they'd lower the TTK on primaries. Silly me. Blade nerf probably came from the fact that it's only easy to shut down if you have special ammo. As it is you could probably wander into the enemy spawn and destroy everything, knowing that they have no special ammo. They didn't nerf secondaries, they buffed them. The value of your secondary increases dramatically the less likely your enemy is to have secondary ammo. It's really easy to Matador someone that doesn't have ammo for their Matador. Think about how long you would stand by the special ammo waiting for it to spawn if you didn't have any as the game is currently. You'd stand by the crate for 20 seconds, right? There's no reason to expect that to decrease with the changes. So you'll have people respawning and immediately running to the special crates and waiting. Objective game modes will be a complete mess. You'll also see a lot more lopsided games. Not just because the new penalty for dying will put the winning team at even greater advantage, but also because the new system will lead to more quitting. A player doing poorly will have even less of a chance of seeing a turnaround without having special, and so will have more reason to quit. The game rarely replaces players in a timely fashion, and that will just lead to their former teammates being at a disadvantage or quitting themselves.

I don't care what anyone says: unless I have a Novabomb, blade dancers eff me in the Cummie Bears. And even with a Nova bomb, 4/10 I miss those bastards. Nerf it harder. And harder more.
Scum of the earth, dem Bladedancers.

Good analysis TheHawkNY. I think tactical loitering special ammo boxes is what we are going to see. And a much more passive playstyle, trying to protect your special ammo reserve. I also expect to see a big increase in NLB/Sidearm combo. I feel like Fusion Rifles got hit the hardest in the special ammo nerf. Too bad, I thought they were getting to be in a good place. Not sure why they didn't just selectively reduce ammo carrying capacity based on archetype. Make high impact shotguns and snipers have far less ammo in reserve, and let low impact models have a much bigger reserve. That would greatly diversify the types of special weapons used. Other thoughts: - Clever Dragon and Grasp took a pretty big hit. They are still useable, but Hawksaw and PDX-45 will probably move to the front. - I wish they had boosted ARs a little more. - I think some of the changes will be okay to good, so not all salty like a lot of Reddit seems to be. - I wish they would find a way to make more exotic armor pieces useful.

It's kind of like the NFL rule change they made this year. They moved touchbacks on kickoffs from the 20 yard line to the 25 yard line. They said that with the extra 5 yards, there would be less incentive for teams to run out of the end zone, leading to more touchbacks, and increased player safety. Everyone realized that was BS, because now instead of kicking it out of the back of the end zone, kickers would just attempt to drop the kick right in front of the goal line, because they were likely going to stop the return before the 25 yard line. The NFL got to act like they cared about player safety, and it made things worse. Bungie is nominally nerfing secondaries, but in actuality it won't do anything. The only thing worse than being sniped or shotgunned is to not even have the ability to do so back. Secondaries will still be broken.

Btw, there's a secret winner in the new meta I haven't seen anyone mention anywhere. When light level doesn't matter, Pocket Infinity will be a wrecking ball. If you lose your ammo upon death, you're better off expending 4 shots to give you a much better chance at winning a gunfight. If you don't have one leveled, I'd do it now. If you don't believe me, take it into Mayhem and see how much it wrecks there.

It would be awesome if they brought it back at current LL, but changed the exotic perk to regen ammo like IB and Invective.

It's already been delayed a year. There are now three studios working on it. Bungie has huge financial incentive to get it done. Activision wants that revenue stream opened up. I'm interested to see how supply drops are implemented in the new game. The success of them as cash flow makes them inevitable.

The earnings call shows that Blops3 made more from CoD points than all of the DLC/Season Pass. They've added it in heavy on MWR, and IW is built on it. It's a coming.

The Blade Super can be countered by nearly all other Supers anyway. Depending on the range of an opponent is to a Blade mid-Super, they can just use their own Super to counter the Blade, which is what happens anyway. More lopsided games? King of ironic given Bungie's stance on SBMM and the such eh? I can see more mercy rules activated during Iron Banner because solo players are at a further disadvantage when competing against premade fireteams. I could probably see more Gunslinger and Defender use post-patch.

Xur's back. He's at the beginning of the Hangar Area
Legacy Engram for 29 SC No Backup Plans @ 37 Int // 34 Str (87%) for 13 SC Skyburners Annex @ 72 Int (78%) for 13 SC Apotheosis Veil @ 43 Int // 45 Dis (96%) for 13 SC
Hawkmoon
An interesting choice for Hawkmoon, as with the new Meta, HC should see a resurgance. And for all of those armour, meh. You'll need to shell out for some glass needles for the Annex and the AVeil, while a great roll and is asthetically pleasing, it is perhaps the 3rd worst warlock exotic (The Stag being #2 and the AVerse being the worst but yet, the most beautiful)
