I think the stats and damage profile of this new rifle are identical to the AK47, including the silencer range "glitch", with a few exceptions.
Improvements over AK 1. Red dot "glitch" did not carry over. Range remains intact when adding red dot. 2. Recoil is vertical instead of side to side
Detriments over AK 1. Sway amount is much higher. 2. Reload animation is longer, but I heard reload cancel matches AK. 3. Iron sights are more obstructive. Opinions may vary here
All from hand testing and found a few redddits posts agreeing.

Everything correct, but also the XM LAR has a lower firerate than the AK. All in all its usually best to use the AK without any attachments since the attachments nerf the gun. The XM LAR could be treated like a special version of the M4 Carbine. Technically any attachment is ok, but a clear red dot sight probably fits most peoples taste. Some people tend to say that the XM LAR is OP, but that is not necessarily true. It is kinda stuck in a triangle with the AK and M4 Carbine. Having a sway amount that is between both of them and having this recoil pattern that is rather vertical. For most people it is easier to counter a vertical recoil, so the XM LAR feels easy to use while ADS. But in close range it should be outgunned by the AK and even by the M4 with only a little advantage for the latter gun. At longer range it feels very consistent, since the AK has its nasty gun kick, that for some people is annoying. But usually the gun kick is one of the aspects that good players can ignore. So i would say, good players tend to use the AK while beginners rather want the XM LAR.
