Any reasoning behind that statement? Or are you just salty and want a place to show your recent lag bullshit? (that is fine too thought lag can be a bitch...) Just amused by the lack of criticism Bungie gets for their networking and game design, or at least that is what it appears to me. I only really get 'salty' over lag in Trials but I stopped playing that ages ago. I mean if Bungie can't manage lag in a 3v3 setting then something is up. I'm just looking forward to the MLG direction Destiny is going and hoping that lag ruins the final in one of their non-LAN tournaments. I do think Destiny 2 will be better for networking but how is it that Destiny 1 can make me wait five minutes for a match to get started, lobbies remain unfilled, and you still get epic moments of lag? Meanwhile, Black Ops 2 finds players far faster, has less lag and games starting 4v4 instead of 6v6 is unheard of, and it is nearly five years old. May be Bungie can ask 3arc to use their matchmaking algorithm instead? Oh I could troll Halo fanboys on DTG with that.

Boy Bungie you are just lovingly crafting options for me aren't you...
I can get the Xbox version, play with my x-bros and then upgrade to One X (not digging this name at all) after a couple of months and somehow still be in lolsville 30 fps.
I could get it on my PS4 Pro, get the worst performing version, but hey exclusive strike and exotic sniper...
Or I can get it on PC, actually enjoy the game at a nice frame rate for once, but not get to play it for an extra 7 weeks while the console players tear through it and perfect the raid before I even pick a cool hairstyle for my character!

Sorry bradman... it's official now: you're going to have to play more conservative from now on www.pcgamer.com/destiny-2s-luke-smith-on-pc-features-pvp-new-subclasses-and-more/2/Are the old subclasses—Sunsinger, Defender and Bladedancer—gone? They’re replaced by Dawnblade, Sentinel and Arcstrider? Yes. For all intents and purposes, they’re gone. How did you decide which subclasses you wanted to give more major overhauls? We peer into the subclasses and look at opportunities. While I know that many players love the Sunsinger warlock, I think the fantasy of having a super in Destiny is the fantasy of using it, and the Sunsinger encouraged you to not use your super. It encouraged you to sit on it and use it like a one-up when it was time. That also makes things like counterbalance more of a headache than we want it to be. So we knew we wanted to give the solar Warlock an overhaul. But..... but I love popping my res and saving my fireteam from a wipe........... Oh... who am I kidding: I love popping my res, giving bradman's dead ghost a flaming teabag session, and most importantly, seeing how close I can get the circle to complete without actually resing TheHawkNY before he starting to get huffy... I believe my record was 5 Other good pvp goodies in there too: The ammo can snitch on you: That means, for things that can kill you in one hit, making sure you have understanding and knowledge of where these are on the battlefield and who has them. That led to our new callouts technology. If you’re playing PvP and you have a shotgun, and you load your shotgun from one of the wall-mounted power ammo distributors, then everyone on your team and everyone on the enemy team will see, you know, “Smith loaded a shotgun at garden.” So now when people see me running through the world, they know I have a shotgun and they can react and learn and do better.

Simple. Get the Xbox version at launch, play with your x-bros, then ignore the One X after a couple months because that name is actually worse somehow than the fact that it'll still only run D2 at 30 fps. Once you've done that, consider the PC version when it releases for the nicey nice framerate and graphical improvements. Then, continue ignoring the PS4 version, because it's the worst performing version and the exclusives won't be worth it anyway. Problem solved! On a serious note, I'm still kind of shocked that PvP at the very least wasn't designed for 60 fps on consoles. Especially when every other big name multiplayer game (CoD, BF, Halo, TF2, Gears?) is 60 fps. PvE, fine, sure, whatever, there's too much stuff happening in the environments, blah blah blah. But for the PvP side? No excuse.

Yes, it's a decent sized part of the game, but it's not the Golden Child that PVE is. Unless they're willing to double down and make it an actual priority, then they'll do it. But people don't play Destiny just for the PVP like they do for CoD, and until the demand gives them a reason to focus on PVP, it's not going to happen. Besides, they've already sold the excuse that the PS4Pro can't handle it, effectively passing the blame/buck on to the console manufacturers. I wonder how much Sony had to pay Bungie to lock all consoles @ 30 fps?

No idea on how many people will get it on PC but the delayed release date means PC players who wish to raid blind are risking being exposed to spoilers as console players have had weeks of play time.

And the problem with this is that players like myself will then judge PvP balancing compared to traditional shooters like Battlefield. I think you'll be surprised by the people who do play Destiny like people play CoD for PvP. These people are usually former Halo players I find. Some players can only fight NPCs so often since their AI are limited, especially in Destiny where it feels scripted.

IIRC, there will be no raid at launch. And if you were in to hard hitting scouts, I know a lot of Xboxers who loved getting a Jade Rabbit. But only missing out on the OG Hawkmoon is like missing out on the OG Vex Except balancing for PvP has always taken priority over PvE and I'm happy to list as many examples as I can remember. And until Bungie decided to even that out or make a wholehearted attempt to, PVP will always be 2nd fiddle to PVE. Tehre's no reason to pay big bucks to make that happen until they decided to take that plunge.... and nothing that I've seen so far is indicating that. For destiny 3, maybe... they might use 2 as a beta to get things sorted out and see what the playerbase will accept or not accept (just like they did for Destiny 1) But splashing the cash to make PVPonly 60fps... nyet

But only missing out on the OG Hawkmoon is like missing out on the OG Vex While there won't be a raid at launch, it will probably happen before the PC version is released. The gap between PC and console release dates is 6 weeks and 6 days. That is too long without the raid IMO. that's not my point: people don't play destiny for PVP like CoD... it's a 75/80-25/20 split PVE/PVP-wise... yes, there are Touch Football PVPers but a vast vast vast majority of Destiny's player base is PVE driven. And until Bungie decided to even that out or make a wholehearted attempt to, PVP will always be 2nd fiddle to PVE. That said, they aren't going fully into PvP as they're not having 60FPS and private matches at launch. Perhaps this is their way of letting the PvE shine before PvP steps up when endgame PvP like presumably Countdown will be, ala Trials of Osiris with House of Wolves in Destiny 1.

It'll all depend, imho, on how well "competitive" matchmaking is handled and embraced... I guess. If the player base increases it and demands it, perhaps they'll do it. But as they said already, the PS4Pro can't handle the game @ 60fps, so I don't forsee it happening anytime soon

What "good stuff" is coming to XbxX? The game is native 4K on PSPro as well, and neither version will run at 60fps ever. PS4 also has exclusive MP map, exclusive strike, exclusive ship, etc.

I don't care about Crucible so really it's all about getting to six for the raid stuff. I got a couple of solid Xbox defectors I can rely on for basic content and supposedly there is another group of three that one of them knows who should work well for Voltron-ing together come raid time. I really don't want to double dip. If I do it's going to be 7 weeks then bye-bye off to play PC. The only reason that thought is even anywhere in my mind is just the dearth of interesting games coming anytime soon. I guess I could do the ultra-rare buy a disc (I'm all digital at this poing) and sell it close to PC launch thing. What "good stuff" is coming to XbxX? The game is native 4K on PSPro as well, and neither version will run at 60fps ever. PS4 also has exclusive MP map, exclusive strike, exclusive ship, etc. He's just referencing that it's 2 months between Destiny 2 release and XBX release. Is 4k native confirmed for PS4 Pro? I wouldn't be surprised if it's using the standard Pro checkerboard stuff. I wouldn't be shocked if they locked the two versions to the same resolution. After all they did it for the original even though they didn't have much reason to. PlayStation marketing deal, more powerful console, exact same graphics.

markopolo, looks like you are right with the PvE side vastly outnumbering the PvP side. Didn't think it was that much. If I was at Bungie and people were crying over certain guns knowing that a PvP nerf will affect PvE I would tell them to play Black Ops, which is exactly what the old Infinity Ward did.

gamerant.com/destiny-2-raid-death-penalty-revive/While speaking to Giant Bomb, Destiny 2 director Luke Smith mentions that the new raid will have a different death penalty than in Destiny 1. He didn’t say what exactly that penalty would be, but he suggests that the days of no revives are gone, potentially for both Heroic and Normal difficulty.
“The raids should always be challenging you to cooperate, collaborate, and communicate. But I don’t want to bring the difficulty down. We had a conversation – we have a brand new death penalty in the game for raiding. I think it’s pretty unfun to die and just watch on hard mode. So we have a brand new death penalty and on the normal mode raids people have talked about wanting to remove it because it’s different and why not just use the strike difficulty. But we don’t want to change the difficulty because we believe our players are smart. We believe that motivated groups of players can take on these challenges and complete them. We’ve seen that.”

lol no revives being unfun for raids (I agree though). These guys played the OG Nightfalls or what? Bladedancer for stealth revives, Sunsinger for self-res, and Defender with Helm of Saint-14. And if you didn't have elemental primaries because you weren't raiding, oh boy.

Oh, you mean like this? It's too bad none of their changes were able to hide those latency issues. Seeing your lag experience again reminded me of a Monty Python sketch:

Imagine if you lost all your power ammo on death - one death, one wipe, and you're restricted to chipping away at a boss' health with your primary.

I've never had a problem with it. I like how a normal mode had the timer but hard mode didn't.
It forced me to git gewd and not have my handheld.
