Again.... just as a reminder, the following will be arriving in the patch that's happening right now
Masterworks
- Legendary Weapons will drop as or be upgraded to become Masterworks versions Masterworks will have a few advantages over the baseline Legendary weapon: - Track and display the number of kills with that weapon (with choice between total count or Crucible-only count) - Generate orbs for you and your allies on multi-kills
- Add weapon stat bonuses that are selected randomly from a small pool and are re-rollable - Masterworks drop from any source of Legendary weapons for characters above 250 Power - Unwanted Masterworks can be dismantled into materials that can upgrade an existing Legendary Weapon into a Masterwork - Raid and Trials of the Nine Weapons will have a very high chance to be Masterworks - We have future plans to extend Masterworks to other gear and expose your kill counts in more places (e.g. Crucible kill screen)
Factions
- Faction Armor and Weapons will be unlocked for purchase for Legendary Shards and Faction Tokens on most Faction Vendors - All five Armor Slots will always be present, and Weapons will rotate weekly on Factions that have them - Slots will be unlocked by claiming Reward Engrams from the respective Faction - You will get credit for engrams you may have already claimed since launch
Iron Banner
- Armor Ornaments will be added to some existing Armor sets for more visual customization without losing your Shaders or Mods - These ornaments will be unlocked by completing objectives specific to each set, and are permanently unlocked account-wide, just like Exotic Weapon ornaments - They will be applied to the base pieces that you may already have collected, and can now unlock on Vendors if not - Armor and Weapons will be unlocked for purchase for Legendary Shards and Faction Tokens
Xur though not today, but when he comes on friday obz
- Xur has some new offerings for players collecting Exotics: - Every week, you’ll be able to acquire one of the new Fated Engrams using Legendary Shards that will decrypt as Exotics that aren’t already in your collection - A simpler Three of Coins that boosts Exotic drop rates from any source for 4 hours - No obscure stacking mechanics or need to re-apply before every boss - These cost Legendary Shards and you can have as many as you like
Gift Consumables
- Commander Zavala and Lord Shaxx will sell Gift consumables for Legendary Shards that can be used during a Strike or Crucible Match that will serve the following functions: - Grant bonus rewards to everyone in that activity upon completion, friend or foe alike - Award anything from Faction Tokens to a round of Exotics for everyone in the match
Chest/Resource Node Cooldowns
- Exploit safeguards on Chests and Resource Nodes are greatly relaxed and players should encounter them less frequently - Even if they do, drop rates for Tokens is only reduced to 30% instead of 0%, and Glimmer will be unaffected - We want to associate a visual indicator with this in a future update, but we weren’t able to pull that off in this update (but we hear you!)
Vendor Icons - Vendors will now beckon you to hand in your Reputation Tokens only when you’re carrying enough to earn a Reward Engram
Ongoing changes - Deepen Rewards for advanced players - Provide More Player Control over obtaining rewards - Make Shards Useful by adding things to use them for - Provide General Quality fixes wherever possible

No faction rally this week:
We will be postponing tomorrow’s (2017-12-12) Faction Rally, to ensure all of our players can access the activity and the appropriate rewards. Iron Banner and Faction Rally rewards that launched with Destiny 2 will still be accessible to all players.

Well the Prometheus Lens will probably be garbage in PvE long after its buff after the emergency fix. It was fun to use it for the Argos encounter.

Interesting the Flashpoint is Mercury. Xur is always on the destination that is the flashpoint of the week and he has never been in a location that is only accessible to DLC owners.
Looks like Public Events have become useless for farming as apparently Bungie have double downed on nerfing them. I always thought the XP farm from them appeared to be decent only because of the x3 buff. I've grinded public events before and after the XP scaling issue and it took 4-5 hours to level up. Most Bright Engrams contained three shaders and a ghost. For four or five hours of grinding it's not that rewarding since the amount of Bright Dust accumlated from those is small anyway. Bungie forgot even solo players like me can act as walking billboards for their Eververse store by wearing their shaders and armour from their Eververse store and show it off to randoms in a low-key part of the game where randoms will notice me more than in strikes.

afaik, Mercury is accessable to non-DLC owners.... it's just that you can't do $hit there
Aparently a trick to PE farming on Mercury is as soon as you are done it, use the fast travel point, and there's a decent-ish chance that you will be put into another PEvent

DeeJ just tries to make it three times as long as if he was some school kid student trying to make the post count limit.

I came back on after the patches. Ground out the first prophecy scout. It’s not good. Was hyped for the masterworks. Then I saw the grind for that. Then saw they’d stolen the public event loot away. Then I downloaded warframe again. Then I wondered why I stopped playing it. I love Love Love Destiny but they have Royally screwed D2 up beyond salvation I think. I’ll have another go in a week.

I mean why make special weapons that you need to work for and then they turn out to be shit? If the reward is fixed, with zero variation, why would I bother? They just don’t get it.

It's like as if they are ignoring Blizzard's advice out of spite. The advice was basically telling Bungie that players will eventually leave, so they might as well leave happy. Unfortunately I think Bungie are listening to the wrong people in design decisions regarding public event loot. It was only really great with the x3 buff. If they wanted exotics to be more scarce, perhaps they should have made quests to get hold of them that require a decent amount of effort like in D1.

I really really really really want to like CoO.... but I can't.
* I really really really want to do these Raid layers... but I just don't like the raid and the concept of it is still a bit fuzzy to me. * I really really really want to like the new Mercury weapons... but they're not worth it. ESPECIALLY since you can't customize or craft them how you want... this was a HUGE HUGGGGGGEEEHUHUHUHUHUHUHUHUHUHUHGE blown move by Bungie. * I really really really was excited for the Infinite Forest, because I thought that it would be a patrol area that I could wander around... but unless I'm doing something wrong... it's not and I can't enter that big triangle anymore. * I really really really want to like the ornaments... but they're just ornaments. * I really really really wanted to do heroic strikes... and I have done more than pre-CoO... but there are no modifiers that made them any different than pre-CoO. * I really really really want to like the new exotics... but most of them are from D1 and they really aren't that much better than pre-CoO * I really really really wanted to like the masterworks concept... but I'm having no luck getting them and I think I've only seen 1 out of 20 legendaries broken down.
I will give them credit: * The Mercury PE is undeniably by FAR the best one in the game. Flying, slamming, lots of killing... it's awesome... My fear though is because it is so dependent on teamwork, once the newness wears off, no one will do it and it'll sit there wasted. * Mercury is an awesome place to be, in terms of activity and action... it's like we've been dropped into a warzone. * At first, I hated that I couldn't sparrow around... but there are enough of those Interceptors to make it alright * Brother Vance's character was very well done... yes, he can get annoying AF, but he's supposed to be a wingnut religious zealot, and the dialogue pulls that off very well. * A great decision to allow us to spend shards to get stuff
Ultimately, CoO is like a trip to a moderately priced restaurant on a date: * the food that tastes decent * the restaurant looks nice
But: * but the service is hit or miss, * they screwed up my bill, and worst of all... * I'm leaving the restaurant still hungry.
Now, in the past, that was fine because when I went to said restaurants, it was on a date and eating food wasn't really the top priority because there were other things that I wanted to do (nudge nudge wink wink)
Problem is that D2 isn't giving me anything I want to do. And I'm still hungry. And I'm not dating anymore.
And I f$$king hate leaving a restaurant that I've paid money at, hungry.

Download Warframe. It’s free. Deeper than the deepest thing ever. It’s a spec nerds paradise. So addictive but incredibly steep learning curve. But once you’re there, Trading, modding, grinding, resource gathering a blowing everything to pieces with a flourish you’ll think ‘why Bungie, WHY!’
