Well you guys, I finally got it. The gun that has eluded me since the beginning...Telesto Better Devils.
Also, Mayhem is actually kind of fun. Nice way to knock out Call to Arms and Clan XP too.

It's a LOTR quote you dolt. But yes, I'm well aware of the hypocrisy of the gaming industry over gambling when developers cried over 'piracy'. Sorry... I'm not the biggest Tolkien fan. Ah fair enough. I probably shouldn't have assumed people would get the reference so sorry about that. I have got used to seeing references to film and TV on Reddit that I end up just Googling anything that doesn't sound familiar, which is quite a lot because I tend to watch TV series when they are complete now. I got burned from getting into the TV series Alcatraz as it got pulled early. :/

And the answer to this thread's title is, obviously, no, of course they can't. What now? Each Dawning-exclusive shader will potentially take up 2 slots in your shader inventory -- one slot for shaders that drop from Tess or Dawning engrams and thus dismantle into bright dust, and a second slot for the exact same shaders acquired from the daily gift quest things which dismantle into shards and glimmer. In other words, Bungie would rather take time to program these shaders to dismantle into different items depending on source, as well as take up extra inventory space in an already woefully undersized inventory area, than dare allow players to get their hands on a bit of extra bright dust during a limited time event where the total cost of the items for sale is somewhere around 30,000 bright dust. That's pretty Foxtroting sad. I've been grinding heroic strikes over the holidays to get those Forge weapon materials and it took me a while to realise which shaders are from gifts that players used that cost them Bright Dust. And if I had a delayed spawn/join in progress it wasn't until fairly recently I could tell who used those Dawning gifts so I could at least send them a message thanking them for their generosity. Basically for strikes the player who doesn't have their Gamertag mentioned in the feed is the one who gifed the Dawning gear to their teammates. Also, there's no point in grinding for Bright Dust once you have used up your Well-Rested buff. It takes too long a time investment that would put several players' health at risk. A lot of game design issues appear to have been made with Eververse in mind: no armour perks like in D1, Eververse store being the first thing you see when you spawn into the Tower, inability to move engrams from one character to another preventing players from expediting their collection of Eververse armour on a specific character (you could do this in D1), XP nerfs to public events, no proper XP buff to strikes (could have given strike bosses a huge XP buff), making Amanda Holliday and Eva Levante much less important compared to their times during D1, making shaders consumable with a lot of the decent shaders being only obtainable via Eververse. Come to think about it, I'm surprised the Io armour sets and the Philomath set for Warlocks weren't Eververse'd. It wouldn't surprise me if Hastilude was originally a potential reward for completing the Leviathan raid judging by the looks of that sparrow. And to top it off, Faction Rallies were going to be taken away from vanilla content and put behind DLC so those faction shaders like New Monarchy Diamonds were going to get paywalled too but for gamers' complaints. It's funny, Rahool may not be the most hated NPC in Destiny any longer.
