The game says that this reduces fire rate the longer you keep firing. That's all fine and dandy, but does anyone have numbers for this? I have yet to touch a LMG class admittedly, but that's out of negligence rather than fear.
Also, this gun is amazing in Zombies.

The first 7 bullets come out faster. At about 900rpm it is at the start, then slows to 600ish.

I've used this and the LSAT a bit and I much prefer the HAMR, first few bullets are fast enough to compete in CQC & at long range when it slows down to 600. It did feel weaker over all though.

It fires the first seven rounds in each burst at a rate of fire of 937 RPM and then slows down to 625 RPM. Using Rapid Fire doesn't increase the rate of fire of the first seven rounds.

Whoo pc. We get higher than 60 fps Oh i see, so the interval between shots is still 3 frames even at the higher FPS?

i tried it for awhile and even rolling with a good party i hated it. here's the thing, its *ok* if you macro it's opening salvo of quick shots for continual bursting. but by then you may as well run the chicom, FAL, hell a five seven.
LMG's are always relatively awful in cod. COD aint a mil-sim, where you may actually want someone to throw bursts of bullets out for the next few furious minutes.

Its a real shame they haven't thougjt of a way to make lmgs worth the mobility loss BO M60 was worth it. Big Ammo + no damage drop off + low recoil would probably do it.

Yeah, PC lets users set the FPS cap to whatever, including infinite (engine caps at 1000 FPS, though I personally know of no one whose rig could possibly run BO2 that fast), allowing far more fire rates. MW3 did not, however, and that cap (90 FPS) did reduce the fire rate on same weapons according to wwa's research.

Next Question: I'm using the TAR right now, but its accuracy is a little lackluster. Can anyone recommend an auto AR for me? I'm willing to accept a select fired FAL, SWAT, M8, and SMR too.

i know what he means, i feel the same way about the tar the type 25 has faster firerate and less recoil the m8 is ohk but only up to a certain range but, one of the best i suggest trying a smg

So mega, what sort of specs could run at 1000 fps? I'm curious. 12 core Ivy Bridge i7, overclocked to 5 GHz Three Geforce 690s 2 kW PSU 64GB 1800 MHz DDR4 Two SSDs in a RAID 0 ...could maybe do it. In all fairness, if you're willing to make the game look like Duke Nukem, you could probably get away with a realistic (but still very expensive) machine.

lol @ Nvidia Crossfire.
Full auto FAL is beast. Great damage output and no recoil, but you have to hang back a bit because if you miss a single shot in CQC you'll probably lose the fight.
The M27 is just like the MTAR but with no recoil and it takes one more shot to kill up close. But it's not that good IMO. I always felt the ACR's laser accuracy was way overrated in MW2, the damage output was just too low.

I just found a HAMR + Hybrid Optic exploit that allows you to have continual rate of fire at the highest RPM. Simply switch to either sight with the sprint button to regain the high RPM without ever taking your finger off the trigger.

Simply switch to either sight with the sprint button to regain the high RPM without ever taking your finger off the trigger. This is an awesome exploit regardless, but I wonder: Is there a delay from the time you stop shooting before the "fast" RoF kicks in again? Meaning, instead of having to get the Hybrid Optic and swap from one to another, couldn't you stop shooting and start again right away to get the same effect? Again, I know the time difference between stopping and starting to shoot again is worlds apart from continuously shooting and just switching the optic, but I'm curious now.
