I was curious if anyone knows off hand whether a suppressor reduces recoil on a weapon.

It doesn't affect recoil in any previous CoD, so I doubt it does in Black Ops II.

Yeah, that's my guess. I just can't compare side by side because overkill won't let you have two of the same weapon. How stupid! What if I want two sets of attachments?

I would go with no.
However, suppressors do remove muzzle flash and that can make tracking targets and recoil compensation much easier, accomplishing much the same as a centerspeed buff.

then pick the gun thats incredibly similar. Every primary in this game has a cousin. Or he could kill himself, switch classes and pick up his gun he dropped?

The line I heard was that explosion deaths do not drop weapons, suicides or not.
Try using fall damage to kill yourself.

i believe that scilenced weapons in MW2 reduced recoil but scilences still give the mental effect of giving reduced recoil

They didn't in MW2. Or any CoD.

-100 centerspeed is increased recoil mousey, try the msmc with scilence and without i was using it the other day lpaying with the attachments and the scilencer would bounce up much more, then again, it could just be me

well that's completely counter-intuitive. IRL silencers actually do slightly reduce kick...

well that's completely counter-intuitive. IRL silencers actually do slightly reduce kick... That's not necessarily true at all. The extra weight maybe reduces muzzle climb but a suppressor can also increase the cyclic rate of fire on many automatic weapons. This is a result of increased gas pressure, which makes the bolt move faster. The combination of the faster bolt movement and increased RoF can effectively increase perceived recoil. The more you know...

A part of me inside dies every time someone brings real life into a COD discussion. Real life should be taken with a pinch of salt, and only as a light basis when it comes to COD's game mechanics.

People throwing the term "over powered" like its nothing. It's like they don't know that "over used" exists, or think overused=overpowered.

Usually my friends aren't bad for it, but sometimes when the rage has pushed it's way through them they throw out the old "That sh!t is OP as hell!" card. Because of the discussions we have here though I've learnt to think about things differently (as cheesy as it sounds) and think that maybe it isn't as OP as I thought it was in that split-second of rage. But yes, I agree that a lot of players throw the "OP card" around way too much. Just like commentators throw the "I can design the game better than Treyarch/IW card" too
